The seas are a dangerous and risky tool or travel, yet why would one want to give the opportunity? It was a fine morning on the eastern sea as Captain Jonathan Delevon, stood at the head of his ship looking out at the sea. They’ve traveled well and received many good riches. As they sailed to a isolated part of the lands the captain looked out. His brown locks waved with the wind and his coat and clothing rushed in the wind. The Devil of the North turned on his heels to his men and aloft his voice in a firm yell.

“READY TO DROP ANCHOR MEN!!”

“AYE AYE CAPTAIN!” they all replied to him.

It was only a few moments latter they dropped the anchor near the shore. Jonathan an only a few men followed him to a row boat. Turning to his men on the shop he spoke out again. It will be hidden here, just keep a look out, If any of those other pirates show…you know what to do.” His men nodded and listened to their captain orders, as they always do. The row boat sailed off to the land and once anchored Jonathan and the few men got out. The pirate walked off on the dusty path to a town that was near by.

Jonathan, was getting much information on the kings around, and hated that one was a women. Seems to him men are pathetic letting a women take control of them. Pirate King of the South: Jack Sawer, Pirate King of the East: Christopher Albern and the pitiful women Pirate King of the West: Keha Smith.

“Seems I’m sure to get more information in town,” he mumble to himself, “Come men, lets not waste good time.” The continued on to the city and were there two hours later. The town was chatty and quiet busy as any other one was in eastern or other lands, yet some were poor. The men walked through the streets as smoothly as they usually do. Coming to a salon they walked in, Jonathan sat alone with his crew near by. They ordered drinks and they settled down listening to drunken idiots talk and women trying to lustfully win a man over.

"Excuse me? Care to repeat that sailor?" She had the blade of her sword pressed against the man's throat, her eyes boring into his, and one of her pistols resting against his stomach. "What did you say to me?"

The man glared back at her, putting off the appearance of anger, but she could see the fear in his eyes with his back against a wall. "I said, 'Why should I listen to what a woman tells me to do?'" And then he spat in her face. Lady Calypso clenched her teeth and moved her pistol with light-speed to shoot his knee-cap. He screamed and fell to the deck while she wiped his spit off her face.

She stuck her sword through his chest and he screamed again. Now she knelt beside him, her hand still on the hilt of her blade. "Why should you listen to a woman? Well, I'll tell you that I'm one of the few women who'd ever tell a man what to do, and on my ship," Her voice was soft and seething with anger as she twisted her cutlass so that he screamed again, and then she yelled in his face to finish her sentence, "you'll damn well do 'what a woman tells you to do'!"

At that, she got up, pulled her cutlass out of him, shot his other knee, and kicked him hard in the ribs. She would not be disrespected, least of all, on her own ship. 'Stupid man. Arrogant, disobedient man.' As she turned, she saw a few of the new crew members staring at her in fear or disbelief. "Get back to your posts!" They all but sprinted to their places on the ship, but she stopped one of them before he was gone. "You!" He looked at her, wide eyed, a young man, new to her ship, one of the boys who knew the man she'd just stabbed and shot.

"Yes, Captain?" His voice was disciplined at least, not a stroke of fear in it.

"Get this scumbag off my ship!" She kicked the fallen man again.

"Is he dead Captain?"

"Not yet." And she walked away to the bow of the ship, where the wind blew the salty sea into her face.

[COLOR=orange]He was on the edge of the abyss, staring down.
He didn't move as the waters moved quickly beneath him. He was standing at the very edge of the boat, something he'd done hundreds of times before. Of course, there was danger but he didn't care. He was his own master. Yet, was he? He was on the ship with Calypso and was, in many ways, her best friend. Maybe even her only friend.
Felix 'Chance' Wildefyre smiled. He was surprised that there had never been any... romantic involvement between him and the Cappie. But that was proposterous. More so than really. The indigo coat he wore blew violently in the breeze. It, and the rapier-sword on his belt, the two flintlock pistols- both ebony -and the silver throwing knives inside his coat were all one thing: a symbol.
Once upon a time, Wildefyre was a nobleman. He'd not been allowed to marry because of his tyrannical father, and the fact Wildefyre had always defied his father was the reason for this. From his defiance, Wildefyre eventually lost something: his ring finger. He eventually decided to leave the old man in the house to rot. He was done.
He'd picked up the Cappie at a tavern, the Sparrow's Wing, and had soon gotten onto her ship. But was he welcome, was he really her friend, and was she really loyal to him? Or was his saving her that fateful day nothing to her?
He'd never know.
Footsteps clicked behind him. He immediately reached into his coat, pulling out a coin. The gold coin was the size of his palm with the symbol of a crow on it, and a fox on the other side. He flipped it, clicked his heel, and spun.
Immediately, he was not where he was. He was behind the Captain Calypso, and was leaning on the railing.
He was magic, in some ways. Of course, this was impossible. He had just worked as a street magician and a waiter in the Sparrow. Because of his magic tricks- of which he had many -he was an illusionist, therefore he was sometimes ridiculed by the crew, called a Warlocke. And who better to have a Warlocke and Nobleman for a best friend than Calypso?
He was also seen as being a Warlocke because, it seemed, no matter how badly he was injured in the past, or shot up, or fatally wounded: he survived. Somehow. He knew it wasn't magic, such a thing wasn't possible.
He was lucky, and always took risks. His name Felix even meant Luck. And the risks he took were absolutely treacherous. Hence his nickname Chance.
Felix Chance Wildefyre took a bow to his audience: the Captain Calypso, and grinned broadly. "Mornin' to ye, Cap'n. How's the day treatin' ye?" He asked, his accent- slightly English and Welsh -thick on his tongue.

(I hope that's okay. I know you said no magic and I can't stress this enough, it's not magic, he's simply that era's equivilent of an illusionist. That's not fantastical, just what some people would consider demonic or fantastical in those days. Remember superstition was big. ^^' )

"Mornin' to ye, Cap'n. How's the day treatin' ye?" Calypso turned to see Felix Wildfyre behind her.

"Just fine, Chance. Dealt with a little disrespect," She brought up her bloody sword and took a cloth out of her belt to wipe it, and curled one side of her mouth up as she heard the splash of the man's body hitting the water, "But alls well."

Chance had pulled her out of a sticky situation some years ago in a tavern, before she really knew how to handle herself in such a situation, and became indebted to him. He asked to join her ship as repayment, begged, more like, but she figured that it would be good enough. Since then he'd sailed with her, the western sea hers, and he, her first mate, to help manage the ship and crew. Not to say he hadn't been a bit of trouble sometimes, being a risk taker, and a damned lucky one at that, but he'd mostly done her good, and for that, she was thankful.

She continued wiping the blood off her blade until it had no trace of the boor's blood left on it, then she turned it over a couple of times before sheathing it. Now she looked over the railing of her ship, The Black Coral, her pride and freedom, yes, this was a good day.

"Cap'n! Cap'n! We got someone here, Cap'n!" cried a new sailor. "Yuh! A stow-away Cap'n!" cried another. Captain Jack Sawer awoke from his catnap, or so the shipmates liked tyo call them, grumble and arose to see if they caught the "Stow-away". He came out into the light of the bright afternoon, looked at his shipmates, nodded to some and smirked at his first mate. "Mor'n Captain Sparrow." cherped his first mate, Harvery Hickory, and he smiled warmly. He nodded and smiled back just as warmly. He turned toward the new mates, and his dface slowly turned back to the plain eyes and the nouth that does'nt seem to smiel often. "So...what have we got my new mateys?" He looked at the person in their arms. Sawer was hoping for the dummy of straw and googly eyes but what he saw was a real live boy. He looked at the boy then at the three men holding him while he squirmed about. "Put the lad down, men." he asid, calmy. They dropped the boybto the ground he was little and scrany-looking but he gave a very good fight trying to get off the three huge and muscular men. The boy looked up to see Jack, he seemed to have no fear in his eyes, either that or he was very good at hiding it. He thought it might have been the latter. "Up, boy." he said, not looking at the boy. He heard a grunt then the boy's head popped up in front of him. He was almost as tall as Jack but he was a bit shorter maybe by 5 inches. It didn't matter though, the boy was here on his ship. Why? was the question came into his mind. "Boy, I want you to walk with me," started Jack. "You three, get cleaning and then you may find the real dummy. Come, boy." He walked off, he didn't check that the boy was behind him he knew he would come. 'It's a good thing we stopped otherwise we would have this kid with us on my ship.' he thought. He got off the ship and turned, quite suddenly for the boy, and said, pretty harshly, "Why are you on my ship, boy?" The boy was stumbled, tripped and fell in front of Jack's feet. He looked down while the boy looked up, mouth opened, and there was the fear in his eyes now. He smiled wickedly to the boy, and said just as wicked, "You thought you could just sneak on my ship nad become a pirate just like that?" The boy didn't say anything, just shut his mouth and sat with his legs crossed, looking at the ground. Jack bent down to look at the child, and said, softer this time, "you thouht you could sneak onto the boat of the Captain of the South?" The boy looked up at Jack and said softly, "C-Captain of the South? The Captain of the South?" "Aye matey, you didn't walk on just another pirate ship you walked on my ship." The boy seemed to grow red, and he tiltled his head down. Jack felt sympathy for the kid and he stood up. "Kid, go home ok? Just go home and you can tell all your friends that you got this from the Captain of the South." He took off his red bandana from his head and gave to him, he had a spare anyway. The boy looked extactic and ran off saying thank you. Jack smiled and returned to his ship to his shipmates with the smile still on his face.

"Captain, the scout we sent has arrived with news." One of Albern's crew said, waiting outside his quarters.

"Good. Bring him here, we speak in private," Christopher answered, his voice toneless and empty.. The pirate nodded, and left quickly. In about one minute, the scout arrived, panting from exhaustion.

"Captain, I spotted a Northern ship heading toward Eastern port!" He said, grinning with pride. "They didn't notice me. This telescope you gave is quite a piece of work, Captain Shadow, it really is. 'course, the fact that I was at the edge of some rocks, hidin' me and me boat. Problem is,with all the hiding I had to do, it took me a while to get 'ere. I just hope they're still around."

"The one port nearest to us, they were headed for?" Albern asked, and the pirate nodded. "We go there now. It's time I talked with the Northern captain. I've heard of a rising captain there, and some rumors. I will test him." Christopher walked past the scout and went to the navigator, giving him the order to go to port calmly and quietly. The navigator nodded, and changed course.

"Captain, you may want to take a look at this..." Two pirates walked towards Christopher holding a note.

"it''s got signs of treason on it, captain. Take a look," The pirate on the left handed it to Christopher, who read it quickly.

"I know this writing," Christopher said, and walked briskly to the resting quarters for the pirates off-post. "You." Christopher drew his sword and pointed it at a single pirate, talking with another.

"Er... Captain?" The pirate asked, standing up.

"You would betray me? With others? You will come." Christopher stepped forward and gripped the pirate with his free hand, and dragged him away, the other pirates nearby staring in fear.

The Shadow dragged him all the way to his quarters, closed the door, and locked it. He then threw him to the ground. "You will tell me who else is betraying me," he said, his voice remaining toneless, though having gotten significantly quieter.

"What if I don't?" The pirate responded, remaining on the floor but clutching his sword.

"Simple." Christopher stomped his foot onto the wrist of the pirate's right hand.

The pirate let out a small grunt. "You think that'll get me to talk?" The pirate asked, chuckling, though obviously in some pain.

"No, I think this will." Christopher's voice remained monotone as he quickly and calmly slashed off the hand of the pirate. The pirate screamed as Christopher kicked the stump that once held his hand.

It wasn't long before Shadow had his traitors. The original writer of the letter died with one hand and one foot missing.

Albern walked out and stood at the head of his ship, staring at the port as they docked. "We will not attack the Northerners. This land is not yet ours, and the citizens would hardly react well to a battle. There will be peace, while we are docked here." Christopher said to the thirteen pirates standing behind him, as several more approached. "All but five of you will remain here. The rest will come with me," he continued, and five pirates immediately volunteered, the rest backing away. Christopher turned to the five, "If a fight breaks out, return here, and inform the others. I don't see their ship, but that makes sense. We, however, need not take such precautions. The people of these docks aren't wholly against us."

"Aye, it was mighty wise of ya to give out some of our loot to the fellows back 'ere. Far as they know, we're the good guys." One of the five pirates with Albern said. Christopher nodded, and began walking.

"Keep a look out for anyone who looks like a pirate, understand?" Christopher ordered, and the two addressed pirates asked. "We'll start with the main pass of the town, and move on to the cheap bars and such. With all the time at sea, even I would enjoy eating some proper food,"Christopher said, and the pirates chuckled. it was a short walk to the main portion of the city from the port. "Let's go."

Captain Jonathan sat with his bag on the table and one of his swords on his side while the other was back on the ship. The few men that were with him has a few of there own weapons just incase. Though he wouldn’t be the one to start a fight with anyone, was truly pointless to him. The food was decent enough as he received it and took a gulp of his drink. His men sat near by but also around the room from different angle if there was any trouble. Though the meal was still pitiful, and not much as he could have, it was decent. In the mist of his eating one of his crew members walked by and swiftly dropped a piece of folded paper in front of him. Opening it slight her read the words:

“Pirates are coming this way, looks as if to be the Pirate king of the East…not positive.”

The Northern captain only nodded slightly and crumbled up the paper and threw it on the nearest trash he could find. Was glad he might be able to chat with an eastern captain. They’re coming, so let them come, he thought and just gave a grin. Was good he was possibly getting some chatting in after all. Putting his feet up on the table he leaned back and took another gulp of his bottle and waited, for the visitors to arrive. That is…if they were going to drop by and say a hello.

Harvey was looking over the ship while the Captain took care of the kid. "Don't go too hard on 'em, Cap'nt." he whispered to himself more then to Jack. "Hey! Sloths! Come on there! Get movin'!" he shouted to a couple of slackers. "Don't be lazy now just 'cause the Cap'nt ain't here!" A couple of laughs, the new three. He turned to the three. "Think it's funny does ye?" he said, darkly. "N-no..we was...just gon-" one stated " Gonna what?" he said still very dark. "W-we was... gonna go now..." said another. they zipped away. "Good..." he said. He spun around to where Jack left and all he heard was a loud "thanks" and a few feet scurring off. Jack came back on the ship's deck with a huge grin on his face and his red bandana was gone. This made Harvey grin as well. "Say old chap, did ye give the little boy your bananda?" he said walking up to Jack and putting an arm around his caped shoulders. "Sure did, my old friend." he said placing an arm around Harvey's shoulder...or at least trying to. Harvey laughed at his little Captain as he tried ^placing his arm over his broad shoulders. "You are my silly Captain." he said in a sing-song voice. "I am your silly Captain." said Jack back in the same voice. "We are the silly pirates of a silly Captain." theyv said together and laughed together. "Come on, men! Let's set out West!" cried out Jack and his men didn't say anything but let the sails loose and they were sailing off into the sun.

Christopher and his team of five spent a short while searching one bar, and then moved on to the next, which is where they found several armed men, who certainly bore a likeness to pirates. "You." Christopher said, stepping up to the table. "I've heard reports of you from my scouts. You are the Northern 'king' aren't you?" Christopher's voice remained plain and dull as he pulled a chair and sat across from the Northern king.

"I am not here to fight, so rest assured your men need not get involved, nor mine. All I ask is to talk. We are both aware that in the end, we will have to destroy the other." Christopher wasn't tense, and his hands were calmly at his side, though his fellow pirates were not so eased. "However, both of us are also far more involved with the opposing side, you with the Southern pirates and myself with the Western scum. I have no wish to be interfered with while attacking the West, which is why I offer you the following proposition. You will leave me and my Eastern brethren alone, and I shall give you the same ease. We will not steal from the other one's ships, nor raid their towns. A simple offer, that you have no reason to refuse. Do you accept?"

There was some muttering going on between the pirates with Christopher. To put a stop to it, Christopher turned his head slightly and glared at them from the corner of his eye. The first one to notice immediately stopped talking, and the others, realizing why, stopped as well. Each one had a hand on their sword, save for Patrick, who had his hand on his pistol.

Felix laughed. "Disrespect, eh... how... rude of them." He smiled a little, walking next to her. "Captain, where are we going, anyway? We've had no encounters, no land, and most especially the men are getting restless- as I'm sure you've seen. We need to dock soon, at least to let them blow off steam." He sighed. "We don't want them fencing again; and in honesty, I don't have the materials I need to keep them entertained as I usually do during these long trips."
He fiddled with his thumbs as he leaned on the rail, staring down into the forboding sea.
"Captain..." He grew silent, making a side glance towards her. "I notice you've been in your quarters a lot lately. Is there a reason?" He asked lightly. Again, he was always concerned about her in some way or another, he was her friend, her guard, her brother.

Lady Calypso stared intently down into the dark waters. She didn't think she'd spent that much time in her quarters... and it hadn't been that long since they'd raided another ship, gaining a few new crew members... had it? She sighed, knowing that docking soon was inevitable. She hated the thought of having to go back and stay on land, when that damnable "Shadow of the Sea", Christopher Albern, King of the East, was sneaking out there somewhere. She shifted her eyes to look to the horizon. In her mind, she knew that Chance was right, they needed to go to land, as much as she hated it.

Letting her head drop, she sighed again. "Just been thinking about things." She replied to him, then, "Alright, we'll turn for home, I'm a bit anxious that I haven't seen much of the Easterners lately though, so we'll keep a weather eye out."

She turned her back to the water and took a breath, letting her head fall back, her eyes closed. It concerned her that the east remained hidden, but she had to restore, and keep her crew healthy and happy.

They were heading away from the East and Jack liked that. 'West safe far away from the North...they won't find us there.' he thought, half-drunken. Harvey made him have a couple bottles of strong rum. So what if it was more then 35 bottles, who cared right? Jack was a fun drunk when he was drunk, he was more so of the infamous Captain Jack Sparrow. "Ye know, maties? I love the sea..." he said to one of his shipmates. "I love Her with all me heart..." He paused to take another swing of his tasty rum. "Yep maties I love...Her..." he started to say again when he lost his footing. "Woah, buddy." said Harvey coming from the dark and catching Jack by the shoulders. "Hey my Cap'n Jack, I think you might need some rest before you see the wonderful, female, Captain of the West." he said. "I don't think she'll like you trying to look up and down her body while you is drunk, me Cap'n." "Aw but Harvey the fun's jus' beginnin'." Jack said. He felt Harvey chuckle. "Nein me Cap'n the fun's gone." he said while he half dragged Jack to his room. "Come on you silly old dog. Off to bed with ye." Harvey was saying gentle to his 'silly' Cap'n. "I ai'nt no silly old dog Harvey!" he said back. "Quit your yapping, Cap'n." was all Jack heard before he drifted off to a dreamless sleep.

Chance knew he was right, and he knew her fears about the Easterners. He had the feeling that there was a lot about the Easterners that his Captain never told him. It wasn't simple East/West. It was something so much more, he thought. He could be wrong, of course.
"Captain, I know you don't like the idea. We haven't seen hide or hair of the Easterners. Isn't that a good omen?" He asked simply, he clapped his hands together. He'd had an idea, a crafty one, brewing for a while. "I've been thinking of a plan, also, Captain. If somehow I could contact you from a distance... well... I could always wait for the Eastern ship to show up. I could maybe... infiltrate their ranks... learn what I know..." He smirked. "They are my 'brothers' after all."

"You” said, a man stepping up to the table. "I've heard reports of you from my scouts. You are the Northern 'king' aren't you?" his voice remained plain and dull as he pulled a chair and sat across from the Northern king.

"I am not here to fight, so rest assured your men need not get involved, nor mine. All I ask is to talk. We are both aware that in the end, we will have to destroy the other. However, both of us are also far more involved with the opposing side, you with the Southern pirates and I with the Western scum. I have no wish to be interfered with while attacking the West, which is why I offer you the following proposition. You will leave me and my Eastern brethren alone, and I shall give you the same ease. We will not steal from the other one's ships, nor raid their towns. A simple offer, which you have no reason to refuse. Do you accept?"

Jonathon gave a simple grin and put his feet up on the table and looks over to a server, he spoke up, “bring me about bottle for my friend...will you.” The server only nodded and came quickly with a bottle, gave a bow and left on to other business. Putting his feet down the pirate grinned easy at the pirate that sat across from him.

“I’m not a pirate who picks fights in towns, completely pointless to waste time.” Jonathon titled his head simply and looked around seeing his men and the eastern men around ready to defend their captain. “Your men are not needed, I’m sure captain would just enjoy a drink with out bickering into a fight, no?” Brushing his thumb over his lips, he whipped away the residue from the meal. He heard much about the Eastern King…Christopher was the name that came to mind. Clearing his throat he gave a little grin.

“Christopher is it? Yes, I’ve hear much of you, not to mention about the other kings.” He took a gulp of his bottle and set it back down, putting his elbows on the table look at him in the eyes. “I like the offer, but you know by now that pirate don’t play by the rules all the time, if you leave my ship, tis I will to your ship, though that doesn’t mean I’m off limits to other easterners. Furthermore, if you’re thinking that you’re men are need to protect you right now when in a town I advise you not, for it is there is no need.” Tapping his finger away on the table he looked around glaring at the crew around from the east and west. Looking back to the captain Jonathan only gave a little grin.

“How about…you don’t fight my ship, and I won’t fight your ship eh? It’s a basic win situation, when in the end we will have to fight each other, once the west and those pathetic southerners are out of our mist hm? Tis good to have a drink with the enemy for a time eh? I will accept the offer, though I am off limits to you, your crew and your ship, and those alone. If I keep up that end you will keep up your end by doing the same thing for me.”

The Northern Captain leaned back in his chair and took another swing of his drink. It was an offer that would benefit him and the Eastern side. He wasn’t the kind of pirate that ravage in the street, he’s a simple pirate that would buy the supplies though stealing is only appropriate if from other pirates. Though is he agreed he couldn’t steal from this man till the end. Cracking his neck he placed the four legs of the chair back on the ground. He would hear his answer, but for now he would change the subject.

“I hear your antagonism is with a woman,” he said with a smirk, “aye…tis it true?”

Calypso looked her first mate up and down. She wasn't sure what to think of this plan of his. Her mind didn't let her come to the conclusion that he would betray her, but sending him to fight with the Eastern King bothered her. Of course she knew he was from the east, that was where she'd picked him up, but still didn't know if they'd accept him back. They may kill him when they saw him, and he was an important asset to her crew.

"First, how would you possibly remain in contact with me? And how do you know they'll even let you on the ship? I realize that you're their 'brother' but that doesn't mean they won't still want you dead for ever being on my ship, and they may recognize you for that. What good would that do me, Chance? Having you dead?" She pushed off the railing to stand with her left hand resting gently on the hilt of her sword, as it so often did, and the other one hung down at her side.

She wasn't quite sure what to think, but Chance usually knew what he was doing, and had always come out alive, 'Then again,' thought the captain, 'luck will run out eventually.'
