I got bored last night, so I started to write a Sailor Moon fanfiction in my note book. It's about the life of Aousagi, the daughter of Chibi Usa, and life after the collapse of Crystal Tokyo. The Queen, Chibi Usa, has disappeared from sight and hasn't been seen since. (Neo Queen Serenity died long before, along with every other planetary senshi except Pluto, who chose to stay to advise Chibi Usa). Thus, with the disappearance of the Queen (the king Helios had also died of mysterious causes), Crystal Tokyo falls into ruin, victim of a power vacuum and civil war.
*Prologue*
"Queen!" Setsuna Meioh, Sailor Pluto, called through the hallways, but to no avail. "Chibi Usa...! Small Lady?" She heard a small, child-like cry from teh room ahead of her, and rushed inside. Chibi Usa's one year old daughter, Aousagi, lay prone on a bed, waving a chubby little hand at Setsuna.
"Setsu...where Mommy?" Aousagi chirped, her ice blue eyes distressed.
"Oh, honey, I don't know where your mother is. No one does. She hasn't been seen in a week. Ever since your father died..." Setsuna had to stop herself from sobbing out loud in front of the child, and instead turned to pick up Aousagi. "I guess...I'm your only mother now."
Chapter One
My name is Skye. Just Skye. I run through the streets of what was once (I have been told) Crystal Tokyo, one child of many. My band of street girls and I, we let the grownups sort out their own affairs. We don't care about their problems, we just try to survive away from them. Girls of thirteen shouldn't have to deal with such adult problems as war and power vacuums (whatever those are). I heard my foster mother Setsuna talk about those years ago. But she died when I was four, and I don't want to talk about it anymore. I wear my name in honor of her; she gave it to me.
There are a lot of girls in my street band, but I only have one best friend. She's called Mahri, and is very pretty with her turquoise hair (mine's lightish blue which she says looks pretty but I think it looks like fabric softener). I keep my hair short, only a little past my ears, because long hair's annoying.
We have a rival gang down the street, led by Phoenicia (a girl I hate). My group is constantly at war with them, much like Crystal Tokyo is at war with itself.
This is my world, and it's all I ever care to know.
***
I made my way cautiously through an alley, careful not to be seen by anyone, especially the owner of the store from which I was going to steal. But before I could make a move, I felt a sharp pain in my leg, as if something had bitten or clawed me.
"What the hell do you think you're-" I whirled around, but saw only a dusty grey tabby cat slinking around in the back of the alleyway. Then I reeled as teh cat said in a stuffy, nasal voice, "Yessss....?"
"Yes, my dear, I did talk to you...Aousagi." The cat rolled its eyes, noticing my incredulity. "Do you mind listening to me?"
"Oh Goddess...listen to a talking cat?!? I must be crazy!" I said to no one in particular, spinning around as if this would somehow shoo the cat away. The cat flicked its tail irritably, and rolled its eyes again. It marched up to me, its blue eyes blazing.
"My name is Zylanthos, and you had damn well better listen to me, girl!"
