Title: Scenario One - Outbreak
Bern - July 7, 2007 09:19 AM (GMT)
Nights in Racoon City were usually cold, but the sinister freeze sweeping through the city tonight was a whole new thing. Little did we know the terror that had entered our lives...
Goals Right Now: Tutorial. The first part basically helps you get to know the system. I'll make another post, telling you what action to send me for your turn.

The music in J's Bar was as 'Cheery' as usual. Kevin sat by the bar, talking with the bartender Will between gulping down his shots. His attention was drawn to the T.V as the news came on.
"The News can report that the Raccoon City football match tonight was interrupted when an unruly fan got out of control and sparked a riot. There are claims on injures, and worries that deaths may arise from this problem. More info on this broadcast later."
The R.P.D officer shrugged, and simply moved away to play darts. Meanwhile, the waitress, Cindy, had just finished giving Bob and Mark their drinks when a rat scurried past her feet. In horror, Cindy drops the glasses she was carrying, embarrassing her in front of the customers. Mark raises an eyebrow, but notices Bob not eating or drinking.
"Bob, you eating that?"
Mark shook Bob by the shoulder, and the old security guard slowly raised his head from the bar.
"Huh?"
"Hey, Bob, where's yo' mind at?"
As the customers continued their conversations, the door opened, and a man in ragged clothes with what appeared to be blood splattered over them entered. Will finished polishing the bar, before turning to face this newcomer.
"Huh? What a wierd customer..."
Drool fell from the man's mouth, as Will approached him.
"Ugh, hey...you alright?"
Within an instant, the man lunged at Will, biting into his throat. The bartender struggled to fight off the attacker, managing to push him out of the bar and lock the door. A couple of moments later, Bob fell from his bar stool, as Mark rushed to help him.
"Bob? Bob! Damnit, he's out cold."
As Mark helped Bob up, the customers were left to wonder what had just happened. Not for long of course, as soon enough, more of these insane people approached the bar, pushing their blood covered hands and faces against the windows. You are one of the customers, here just to spend the night...but unknowingly, you've entered Hell itself...

Welcome to Resident Evil Tactics. Scenario One will pretty much be a tutorial, teaching you how to play. This first post will introduce you to understanding the terrain used in this part, and the movement system too.
As you may notice, the lower part of the map looks like a road, which it is. However, within the bar is an assortment of colours.
Brown = Floor. You can move on it. It's normal, average terrain.
Dark Red/Brownish = Table/Barrel/Railing, ect. These can't be moved through.
Dark Grey = Walls. These can't be moved through.
You may also notice the Green and Red squares.
Green = An unlocked door. This acts like a floor. Only when you've went through the door can you unveil any enemies on that side.
Red = A locked door. This will require a key.
Now that you know the terrain well enough, let's try moving your character. Send me a PM that involves you moving down one square.
Bern - July 11, 2007 05:23 PM (GMT)
As you can see, Dexter moved down one square. There were no obstacles or enemies in the way.
Larry stayed where he was, as an obstacle obstructed his path. Swaine didn't move, because Dray isn't here and didn't send in a turn.
I shall now teach you about being able to move some obstacles, such as the barrels that blocked Larry's path.
Dexter and Swaine need not move just now. Larry should move diagonally to the south-east. However, because he has only one movement, he will have to move east, and then south.
Bern - July 11, 2007 05:50 PM (GMT)
Now, Larry should attempt to move west, through the barrel. Meanwhile, Swaine should move to be beside the barrel near him, whilst Dexter may practise moving.
Bern - July 11, 2007 06:01 PM (GMT)
As you may notice, the barrel has moved over. Obstacles can only be moved in some cases, and in almost all of those cases, you will be told. Swaine should push his barrel into the far corner, and Larry should push his in front of the door to keep the Zombies out long enough for us to finish the tutorial.
Bern - July 12, 2007 11:51 AM (GMT)
For the sake of advancing the tutorial, I had the barrels pushed in front of the door. We'll now use the Dialogue system, that will help you find important items or other useful equipment pieces, such as a Handgun or the key to the next room.
You see, you may indeed post in the scenario topic, but it may not include any action, only description and dialogue. You could perhaps be requesting help, or telling your teammates where to go.
Larry should request that Will moves over towards the bar.
Swaine should ask Mark and Bob to head over to the locked door.
Dexter should ask Kevin to investigate the toilets.

"Oh, god! This is... Does anyone know what's wrong with those people? We've gotta do something, right?" Deep inside, Larry probably knew what these things were: zombies, walking dead, voodoo children... Well, whatever they were, they weren't friendly.
Quickly redirecting his thoughts from his "Ohmygodwe'reallgonnadierealsoon" state of mind, he realised that it wouldn't be a bad idea to take the position as leader, people always seemed to follow (and protect) the alpha-dog...
"Okay, okay... We'd better figure out something to do fast, right? You, the guy that just got attacked. Get over to the bar, okay? We'll have to find you some bandages or something..."
Chris Redmoor - July 12, 2007 03:40 PM (GMT)
Dexter looked over to the man in the police uniform, "uuuhhmm...excuse me, officer - I was wondering, could you look in the restrooms, just because I think I saw someone go in there not to long ago...and...well...you know"
Dexter nervously rung his hand

As Dray doesn't seem to be posting anymore (Again :mutter: ), I'll just advance again...
As you can see, Mark and Bob have begun to make their way around the bar towards the locked door. Will has went up to the bar, and Kevin has headed towards the toilets.
Next, we'll try the search command. When you post here, you may also activate a Search. A Search allows you to search the four square radius around you for items or weapons, but it takes two turns to find anything. If there is nothing in that area, you will be told in the turn results right after you activated the Search.
On the Bar, you will find a Key for the locked door, a Handgun and a File. It's up to the three of you to find them.
dray - July 12, 2007 06:18 PM (GMT)
((>_> I think I should back out of this. I'm still getting used to visiting this forum again; I keep forgetting to check it on my rounds, which is why I've missed so much... and I have to go to work shortly, so I won't be able to play again today.))
Bern - July 12, 2007 06:19 PM (GMT)
((Don't worry. Alot of people are just coming back, so take some time if ya' need.))
Bern - July 12, 2007 09:49 PM (GMT)
As you can see, Dexter and Larry have moved towards the bar and activated a Search. Because this is a tutorial, and not much else will be happening, we'll skip ahead to the next turn, to see the results of their Search:
Larry found: Diary of Bar's Staff
Dexter Found: Stairway Key
There's still a Handgun to find!
NOTE: Mindcontrol, having found a file, will be sent the contents. As such, should it contain anything of importance, he may comment upon it to his fellow survivors here.
