Title: Terrarium Dome
Description: What is life, without plants?
Bern - April 16, 2009 06:47 PM (GMT)
The Terrarium Dome is a large building, which contains an assortment of plants and insects to boot. From the door to the Elephant Stage, the path leads along to the door leading out to the Lakeside Area. Along the way, one will come across the giant Rafflesia flower, which lives as more of a parasite and attracts flies with it's rotten meat smell.
Just across from the door to the Elephant Stage, a set of steps leads up to the upper level of the dome. Along this path, you will come across a bridge, although to cross it, you must jump up to the second section of it, as it is higher than the first section. Around from this bridge, a set of steps leads down to the door to the Lakeside Area. Just to the left of the door to the Lakeside Area, an area surrounded by large wooden fencing has been set aside to house plants that require special conditions to grow.
Throughout the dome, three computer panels can be found. Each panel has a button on it, which lights up one of the lights on each of the three panels... What might happen when all lights are lit?
Arnie - January 24, 2012 05:13 PM (GMT)
Max shuts the door behind him, presumably safe from the crows for at least a short amount of time, and takes in his surroundings, he didnt plan on staying long however, so he quickly looked around for anything that might be reference to the missing Mr Raccoon Medal.

As Max enters, he can hear the loud hum of bees or wasps nearby. By the sounds of it, there are quite a few.
Straight ahead is a set of steps leading to the upper section of the dome's interior. To his right is the start of the path leading through the lower section.

"Fuck this... i'd rather take my chances with the crows!"
He'd come back later if he had a chance, but it looked like far too big of a detour, considering he was leaving a 15 year old with an overly aggressive elephant.

"so... i hope you like plants"

Max eyes the stairs as he waits for Jen to answer, he didnt want to scare Jen off and have to go around searching for her...
(Do I know about the computer panels?)

Heading up to the top of the steps, Max and Jen find themselves in the upper section. To their immediate right is a small wooden platform hanging over the lower sectio, with a rather heavy looking crate on it. There are railings on either side of the platform, though there isn't one at the other end.
There is also a path ahead which leads off to the right towards the bridge. Just at the start of this path, Max can see a computer panel. It has three lights, though only two are lit. There appears to be a switch on the panel. Further along the path beyond the panel, Max can see a rather lively looking vine poking out from a bush by the path, wriggling around...

"Jen you wanna check out that computer panel?"
Looking over the edge, Max investigates the platform hanging over the lower section, maybe he could push the crate down for a speedy escape to the lower section if needed be.
Bern - January 26, 2012 05:25 PM (GMT)
Jen heads over to the panel and flicks the switch, turning the third light on, though nothing seems to happen.
Checking out the platform, Max finds that the lower section is too far below for it to be used as a speedy escape. Below the end of this platform, down in the lower section, is a giant red flower. The bees seems to swarm around over it and its foul stench can be smelled even from up here.
Behind the flower is a similar platform to this, jutting out into a small canal that runs through some of the dome. There appears to be another computer panel at the end of this platform, though it wouldn't be accessible at present with that flower blocking the way.

Hmm, perhaps pushing the crate off would hit the plant? It might piss off the bees, but it'd probably be worth it in the long run. Max shouts for Jen as he starts pushing.
Bern - January 26, 2012 06:09 PM (GMT)
Jen marches on over at Max's call and even helps him push the crate off the edge of the platform. The crate falls down below, landing atop the giant flower and squashing it. It does seem to irritate the bees, who begin to buzz around in a wider radius than they previously had been.

"Well i guess that takes care of one of the things out to make our day a little worse..."
Max dusts his hands and pats Jen on the back, after the day theyd had, a little bit of recognition wouldnt hurt.
Walking over to the control panel, Max notices all of the lights are on, maybe they needed to all be of he guessed, or something far away happened that they didnt notice.
"Theres another one of these panels at the very bottom, should head onwards and come to it last?"

Heading along, Max and Jen make their way for the nearby bridge over to the other half of the upper section of the dome.
Getting there, they can see that a section of the middle of the bridge has collapsed. It had likely been a set of steps, as the other end of the bridge is somewhat higher up. It'd be a dangerous jump, considering the height, though it'd be necessary to get to the other side.

Tucking his gun into his back of pants to free up both of his hands, Max walks back slightly to get a bit of a run up and makes a dive that resembled a seal flopping up onto land- not the most athletic of jumps to say the least

Jen moves closer to the edge and peers down the gap, gulping at the sight of how much of a fall down below it was. She backs off and waits for Max to clear out of the way.

Glancing around, Max can see that the section of the bridge he was on now leads to a short rounded path which would bring him to a set of steps leading down to the other end of the dome.
Jen braces herself by taking a deep breath, before running forward and leaping to the higher section of the bridge. She fails to make it the full way however, and ends up grasping the edge of it with her hands desperately as he hangs helplessly above the lower floor below.
"H-help me, please."

Max pushes Jen back to where they previously were, in a less densely populated bee area.
"shout if you need anything!" Max shouts
"and if i dont come back... tell them i died fighting the elephant, thats way better..."
Max wished he wore more clothing...
It was time to wade into nature, just like in vietnam. Claymores and booby traps all around the area, Max had no idea where the enemy may come out next. With his gun clenched firmly in his hand, Max made a bee line (no pun intended) for the control panel. The wildlife seemed to move around him, almost masking enemy activated in its tropical cloak. Max rolled forwards as he drew nearer the panel, seemingly putting his doubts to the back of his mind, the only goal of his was to make it to that panel, and back to Jen in less than 2 pieces.
