Title: Offices
Description: Gah, how boring...

Bern - April 15, 2009 03:17 PM (GMT)
Located in the northern concourse of the zoo, the office building is where the management at the zoo work to keep the place running smoothly. The outer office runs along front and right walls of the building, and contains a couple of desks and cabinets, as well as a vending machine and also a small play area for children.

Directly ahead from the door into the office, a door leads into the inner office. Further along, a second door leads into the inner office. Just beyond this door, however, a third door leads out into a small corridor containing a locker. The corridor is a balcony, and a small drop down from a ledge at the end brings you down to the ground, where a doorway leads back out into the northern concourse, although in the case of no power, this doorway is blocked by an emergency shutter.

The inner office contains a large photocopier, as well as other computer equipment. Especially important is the power generator, which can be used to restore emergency power in case there is a cut. A door inside the inner office lead's to the owner's office.

Peering inside, Max walked in slowly, waving Jen through when he realised he hadnt been killed yet he took a second to look around.

Looking around, Max can see that the office is empty of life, friendly or hostile. Jen walks forward and tries the first door to the inner office, though finds it locked from the inside.

Along to the right and around the corner ahead, there is another door to the inner section of the office as well as a door to a small hallway.

Max expected most of these doors to be locked, however, a nice boring, empty, mundane office was much better than broken cages and stomping elephants, however Max was still cautious when turning the corner to the right, if anything was worth looking into- it would probably be in the innermost part of the office.

Rounding the corner, Max finds that it seems safe in here. Jen approaches the door to the innermost office from here, finding that it opens.

Looking around, Max can see that everything seems safe in here.

Jen rushes over to the other door out to the outer office, unlocking it from this side.

"M-maybe we should stay here, sir. Maybe the others will be here soon to come get us!"

Looking around, Max finds another one of those medals. He also finds a key with a small engraving of an elephant on it, as well as a file on top of the photocopier.

Message from Management

Lloyd:
The new front gate locking mechanism is kind of a pain. Ever since the incident, the folks that live around here have been clamoring for tighter security. We have to listen to them.

Anyway, first you've got to check the office to make sure the main power is on. Then, you need to put the emblems in the 2 lion status. That activates the lock. Be sure to store the emblems separately until they're needed.

I know it's a lot to ask, but I'm counting on you, Lloyd.

Max has found: Mr. Raccoon Medal, Elephant Key

Looking at the medal, it matched the medal he had picked up in the restaurant. He didnt think the elephant key would come in handy considering it was running around the zoo everywhere, but checking for power would definitely be a good place to start, he could maybe put out a tannoy, or check some radios... anything, really- it was the most hopeful he had been so far...

Pocketing the medal and the key, he looked to Jen,

"lets find that office with the main power then huh?"

Bern - January 18, 2012 08:34 PM (GMT)
Judging by the power generator that can be seen in this room, it is safe to say that this is the office with the main power. Though it is perhaps understandable that he hadn't noticed, being the mad old coot he is.

By the looks of it, there seemed to be a simple switch on the generator for turning the power back on.

Perhaps showing how out of touch he is... Max spotted the generator and the simple switch that was quite blatantly sticking out of the generator.

Using the switch, Max turns the generator on, returning power to the various things mentioned in the message. A noise can be heard faintly back out in the outer office, no doubt the shutter that had blocked off the other doorway out to the concourse being raised.

Jen points over at the door to the Owner's Office.

"Maybe somebody'll be in there, sir?"

To his left from where he is currently standing, the outer office winds around the corner back towards the other inner office door and another door he had yet to go through.

(i am seriously confused right now haha)

Bern - January 22, 2012 05:55 PM (GMT)

Opening the door, Max finds himself in a very small corridor-like space. There is a window at the end directly opposite to him, with a locker by the wall nearby. To his right, a railing runs along a ledge below, with an opening at the end by the window.

Climbing down from this ledge via the opening would have Max by the doorway out to the concourse which had previously been blocked by the shutter.

Peering out of the window, it offers Max a limited view of the North Concourse outside. Specifically, it allows him to see out at the door between the North and South Concourses. No signs of that crazy elephant, thankfully.

Jen follows slowly, appearing dazed from her bleeding wound.

No signs of elephants was always the best sign, Max frowned at Jen's state- bleeding any longer was going to slow them down, and that was exactly what they didnt need when theres rampaging elephants and hyenas.

Max searches the locker and the nearby area, then offers his Hemostat to Jen as she catches up to him

Attempting to open the locker has Max find that it is locked. Searching the upper section of the corridor he is in, he finds only a medicinal herb.

Jen takes the offered Hemostat and uses it, clearing up the heavy bleeding for the most part.

"Th-thank you, sir. You're a real h-hero."

Max resists the urge to scuffle the kid's hair, making sure he didnt look like a pedophile. He had been called many things, mostly negative, but never a hero...

Taking the green herb, our hero struggled to not swear at the locked locker. He was done with looking for medals, he needed to get Jen the hell outa here.

"where shall we head next then?" He politely asked Jen.

Max frowned, and started floating off about a movie he had seen where a soldier jumped on top of a huge monster, shooting it and throwing a grenade into the open wound...

"im going to need grenades."

Snapping back into reality, he looked at Jen, who had a confused look on her face.

Bern - January 23, 2012 12:46 PM (GMT)
