So, I am thinking the time has come for me to replace the Motor of my good ol CA M16A4, which gets me thinking I should also swap out the gear box.
Any warnings/suggestions? Anybody ever used one of these kits: Modify Internals kit Upgraded Drop in Gearbox -------------------- I do not expect you to attack, I order you to die. In the time which passes until we die, other troops and commanders can come forward and take our places. Mustafa Kemal

Actually. Just replacing the motor is all you need to do. After I think it was 5 years of going to hell and back with my M16 my motor died. Replaced it and still rocking. Except for the spring, cylinder set and piston set everything else is still stock. Also if I remember right porter cylinders are mainly uses for AEG's with short barrels. Shorter than M4's. I think you may actually loose FPS by installing it.
Something super cheap that I learned works super is to just replace the o-ring on the piston head with a, I believe, #6 o-ring. I'll confirm it when I get home tonight. It makes a tighter seal that most stock o-rings do. -------------------- Babys are cute... But mines the cutest...

Thank you good sir. Yeah, I am still reasearching. I was thinking of replacing the motor & gear box, If I can find something that is cost effective and I KNOW will work. Being ignorant, and broke, it is going to take time. The old girl has given out though.
I have replaced much of the wiring, part of the selector switch and some other stuff, and she always starts out great, loses semi-auto, and now just dies quickly. I am thinking of just replacing all I can afford to replace one piece at a time... Kinda like the Johny cash song... I digress... But I am thinking, since it is an upgraded spring (can't remember the strength... 120 or higher?) I am thinking it may be working to hard to pull the spring. Hoping this may be the one thing I need to replace to get me on the field without having to borrow my sons ICS M4 or Echo P90. -------------------- I do not expect you to attack, I order you to die. 2 things bug me about this: M150 - spring! (really?) and .... My setup is doing it again with keeping me unupdated with this site. The mech box seems rather sexy to me and I wouldn't mind getting it. At this time with everything thrown together whats your gun doing?

my gun is running now.. guess it was all electrical. I think I'll ride a wehile. Probably start using the 11.1 and just replace & upgrade parts as they burn out.
