John exhaled in alarm when he noticed the fast approaching cliffside, and pulled on the elite's arm, slicing the blade into the ground to halt their roll. They kept going, however, and the Master Chief released the elite to grab the edge, hanging from the cliff. He grunted, turning his head to glance behind him. "Shit." He grabbed for grass, for the energy blade, for anything to pull him up. He ignored the elite beside him, kicking at the cliffside. He found what he found to be a rock, and lifted a sticky grenade, which he slapped onto the elite's back. "If you don't want to work together on this, I'm taking you down with me."

Kassey fumbled uselessly for grass, his fingers pathetically groping the ground. He reached a hand for the energy sword, but it was out of reach; he snorted in disappointment. When he felt the grenade attach to his back, he cried aloud, looking at the Master Chief. After moments of pondering the obvious choice the demon had left him with, he tightly grabbed John's arm, and forced him up the side of the cliff. "Leif! A hand, here?" I can still turn this around. The Demon isn't as strong as he looks. Kassey helped the Master Chief up, fully expecting, (or hoping), that he would return the favor. Humans weren't that heartless, were they?

The Master Chief breathed a sigh of relief, staring down at the solid ground. He rose, eyeing the elite that still hung from the cliff. He couldn't hold for long; their three fingers did not make for good use. He watched Kassey struggle, thinking of the effects of leaving him to his doom. No, despite what his army training told him to do, the elite had saved his life. John reached forward, and pulled Kassy onto the ground, but grabbed the energy sword, holding it aloft, a distinct threat.
"Saving me will probably earn you treason. That's a good enough sentance for me."
The Master Chief turned, leaping up the short hill they had fallen from. He passed Leif with little thought, looking to locate Klipspringer and the others. "Klipspringer. I take it you're the leader of this squad?"

A short burst of plasma ricocheted off of Klipspringer's shoulder armor. The Sangheili had returned with the requested transportation for the Sub Commander, when he noticed the grappling between Kassey and the demon. A loud hiss escaped his mandibles, and he straddled the Ghost again, turning it's head to aim for the demon.
"You shall not pass, abomination."
A moments hesitation passed; he hadn't advanced on the Master Chief. Surely he was human. Perhaps more stronger, more agile, and more graceful on the battle field, but he must have weaknesses. The Sangheili kicked off of the Ghost; he would not be as cowardly as to attempt to mow down the demon. He wouldn't give the Master Chief the chance to grapple onto the transport, and with a swift kick, take his place on the Ghost. He took a plasma pistol from his hip, and held it charged, arm outstretched in the demon's direction. With his free hand he concealed a plasma grenade, glaring down the Master Chief.
"I am not afraid."
(yes, , I gave Kassey a title
~and an obscure LOTR reference, FTW!!!11)

FinishSpartan 117;
Fight.
John,
The Master Chief slowed, looking toward the new threat. The Elite certainly seemed prepared for the confrontation; stepping from the ghost in a manner thought brave. He marvelled at a moment, for the valor of their race. Grunts hid most often, jackals turning to run at the drop of a hat (or the crisp shot of a sniper rifle), but elites stood proud in battle. They were nearly fearless; John would have liked to say he was the same, but that wasn't true. Fear was very real to him. He would never utter this aloud, though he suspected one other person knew it. The AI hummed in his ear in confirmation of the moment.
He had caught the sniper rifle, looping it to rest against his back, as he flexed his wrist. The sword crackled; he looked to the Elite, half expectant he would shoot a wave of plasma toward him. He lifted the sword forward, signalling the Elite for a more interesting battle. He had fought against them before; they were very nearly matched in strength. Yet with a sword, how would he fair? Risky, but worth it. A better chance than with a sniper against a proud Elite.
"Are you losing your mind?" Cortana interrupted, though she hardly sounded worried.
"We'll soon find out."
OOC: Yeah- have to attempt to rp like you, Wyoming,
