That is a soldier in the Salvation Army.
By the end of July I should have my uniform. |

Sorry I've been away for a few days Marsh.
Basically the Salvation Army is a Christian Church that has a good reputation as a charity foundation. I am a Christian who calls the Army his spiritual home and all that the soldiership means is that I feel called by God to wear the official uniform of a soldier of Jesus Christ. Currently I'm what's known as an adherent member. I adhere to the Army as my church but I do not yet fully yield to all the commitments the soldiership entails. |

I was considering joining the salvation army until you mentioned the church and jesus.

That's fair enough Potato. I respect your opinions and preferences.
Incidentally the Army was never originally intended to be a Church as such. Our founder William Booth wanted us to be a Christian outreach movement that would work in co-operation with all the various Churches, but they didn't want to work with the Army at all. So we ended up going our own way and started having our own weekly worship services and are recognized as a Church in our own right today. People can use religion for all sorts of things, good and bad, I think though you will use it for good and for that I am glad for you

Thank you Marsh. Your kind words make me feel very good.
By the way a special update: I'm not becoming a soldier this year now. I feel I'm not ready to take the step yet. But I'm still praying about it and keeping an open mind for next year.
