You have to wonder about the sanity of men who agreed to live in small metal tubes, survived by hiding underwater and whose only mission was to poke around the endless ocean for ships to sink.

What went through their minds, as they lived from day to day, in these iron machines.

The thunderous roar of the exploding depth charges was a familiar and comforting sound to the crew members of these boats, who frequently found themselves somewhere between enemy fire and Davy Jones's locker. Under the leadership of Befehlshaber der U-Boote, Karl Dönitz, the U-Boat sank the greatest tonnage of any countries' submarines in Word War ll. At the same time, the U-Boat did far more than merely sink ships - They changed forever the way submarines stalk and kill their prey.

Raiders of the Deep will try to answer these question and more, as we strive in "Keeping History Alive"
