Good call on the booze both or you!!! Staying off of it for the first 50 to 100 days is a good move. I did the same thing and kept me from caving like in the past. You will find after time that you will be able to enjoy beer again after you cement your quit and not constantly crave a dip!!! You CAN do this!!! Be patient!!! I am right there with you on the beer. Its a double whammy cause it fires the trigger and lowers you ability to fight the craving at the same time. I had a previous quit attempt foiled by a night out at the bar. Although I will admit that the attempt was half-assed at best. Anyway, my plan is to stay off booze completely till around day 40-50. And then to drink socially (just enough so I don't get stuck as DD) until I hit the HOF. I figure 2 things. 1) If it helps my chances its a small sacrifice to make. 2) My liver could use the break. That fucker has been kicking me in the pancreas just for spite lately This post has been edited by lstaples on Nov 5, 2009, 9:11 am -------------------- breaking news - abstinence only education ruined by trip to the zoo

JimmyH,
Welcome and congratulations on making the best decision of your life. By being here @ KTC, you have the greatest support group backing every single second of your quit. Use the site, lean heavily on your quit brothers and sisters and stay quit. Take the time to check out what Skoal Monster recommends - he's pointing you to the shoes you need to run this marathon. One thing you mentioned that is extremely important - beer. For you, beer is a very bad trigger. It's great that you know to stay away from it. Let your quit group know that it is a major trigger for you and find out the triggers of your fellow quitters. That way you all can work through these potential craves and not go it alone - you've got some great people who have your back. Again, congratulations on your quit! Protect it fiercely. quit_Aug |

Wow I didn't realize how that sounded using the word "may". I guess the nic bitch is hiding in every corner. Well day 2 and feeling good. I just want to poop normally again.
I pounded water and had some coffee and that helped. Be careful you coffee drinkers cus caffeine can inflate your cravings. I did ok but I won't drink beer at all. Oh well... I know one beer and it's over... so no beer and no nic. |

um May quit??? you WILL quit stuffing your pie hole with fruity cancer buckets or you will be bounced from this site with a swift kick in the ass. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcFx4ymZFgU&NR=1 In the mean time go to cancer and quitter stories and find the contract to give up. Print it and put it in your wallet. Why your doing that the link right near there is the Tom and Jenny Kern story read that too. Skoal Monster |

Hey I'm new here and feel great at the end of day 1. I already put in some suffering but didn't complete a "pure" day until today. I may quit tobacco but I will never quit this site. Where else in the world am I going to here someone say don't dip? Only here cuz the world says it's ok and "satisfying". I am satisfied knowing I don't have to dip anymore and all this posting and stuff just kills the cravings and it is truly a blessing to have a place to go and kill the nic bitch once again.
