For the past 75 years, the wizarding world has gone about its own, living in hidden harmony with the muggles. As Reconstruction continues near to a close, there are new whispers traveling with the ferocity of a brushfire - saying there is a dark presence growing again within the United Kingdom.
The Ministry is working hard to look for any and all wanted dark wizards that have evaded capture. But not all the Ministry officials are looking to lock these men up, but to recruit and have them join their own agenda. Certain people are not supportive of the new Minister of Magic and look to take them from power, within the institution's own walls.
Hogwarts, standing individually from the Ministry, has remained strong through all the strife, but is not immune from its own internal problems. Within its enchanted walls there is a presence with intent on changing a few things. Although, not everyone is against the workings of those wanting to make the wizarding world a better place.
But where is the line between Good and Evil drawn when you can't see what is standing before you? Is Hogwarts safe at all? Can the Ministry find those plotting against them?
Year: 2001
Danger has struck the 2000-2001 school year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The death of Julie Pagano at the Halloween Masquerade was only the beginning. She left the world of the living with a note that read: Down with the Ministry, Sincerely Ronald Langdon. Ronald had been the Groundskeeper at Hogwarts. This left so many questions in everybody’s mind. How had the dim-witted Ronald deceived everybody at the school? How had Headmaster Aldo been deceived? Would there be another death? Was somebody leading Ronald? If so, who was it? Most of the questions posed in the minds and out loud proved difficult to answer. However, one was answered for the students and Professors still located at the school.
On December 12th, Professor Cecelia Cluck, who had worked at the school for forty-one or so long years, was discovered to have been murdered the day before. Once again, assumed to be by Ronald Langdon. A threat to the Minister of Magic was placed by her cold body; it read: Reform the Ministry, Ingram, or your relative will be next. Around a month and eight days later, Richard Anderson(Marial Ingram’s husband) was killed at Gringott’s by the unintelligent Ronald Langdon. The note this time gave a warning directly to the Minister of Magic to ‘change the Ministry while you still have the power to do so, and that won’t be long’, from A Friend. This time Ronald had been caught by Marial after his actions, and Robert Prock, Cecelia’s cousin, was able to take the murderer to Azkaban.
Most felt relieved after Ronald was discovered dead in his Azkaban cell, but some were still worried that whoever had been controlling Langdon was still out there. It was quiet until the end of Feburary. The remains of Gideon Cauldwell, the Deputy Headmaster, were found in his office, along with a pensive and a memory. The Ministry took the pensive and would not allow Hogwarts’ Professors to see what laid inside. Aurors from the Ministry were placed for security around the school, much to the dismay of many who still wished to stand separately from the Ministry, as Hogwarts and the Ministry had done for so long.
Once again, peace surrounded the castle. The return of John Locke, the Defense Against Dark Arts professor, allowed some to breath easier, though some know of the depressing news concerning the Headmaster because of Locke’s return. Although, the air around Hogwarts was still laced heavily with fear. Especially as the night of the Spring Dance grew closer. Security was much tighter tonight then on the night of the Halloween Masquerade. Even so, the murder of the student by the name of Wendy Rachlet was able to proceed on this night, along with the traumatizing of Caroline Devereaux. Hogwarts was thrown into another round of the terrified whispers, fears, and worries that everybody at the school was now concerned for.
After the last dark uproar nearly seventy-five years ago, this one comes as an awakening shock to the wizarding world. Who is after the Ministry? Who is this ‘The Teacher’ figure that has left a few notes of warning? Will Hogwarts ever be safe again? What in the Ministry do these people want to be reformed? Will the Ministry and Hogwarts be able handle the pressure of knowing that there in danger? When will these murderers and masterminds be caught? Who will catch them? And, will Hogwarts and the Ministry learn to stand together to protect themselves or crumble apart separately because of old rivalries, and the personality conflicts still happening? And what’s to happen next, here in the currently dark realm of reality?
