ZEUS: Zombie Elimination Unit Six, Intermission

In what seemed like the blink of an eye, he'd blasted several feet higher than he was and was now flying like some kind of plane, behind the buildings.

"Damn, how the hell are we supposed to fight that?" Shikkun growled.

[Xartarin]

"By catching him off guard," Henry said, watching the guy circle around them behind some buildings. "Or reasoning with him? I mean, I really only assumed he was a brainless psychopath that should be shot on sight. Maybe he's actually a reasonable guy who's just dressed like an asshat."

Henry looked between two buildings, seeing the Shikamassu pass by a few times. "Or I could do this." Henry fired a continuous stream of laser between the buildings, around the height of where the mutant was flying, hoping he'd fly into it.

[NJ]

As he flew across the city, he realized too late that Henry was firing between the buildings. He'd dodged it the best he could, but he still caught his arm on it, searing part of the skin. Upon realizing he'd been injured, he landed on top of a nearby building, toward the center and out of everybody's view.

"What in hell is going on here?" the soldier from the airpad demanded, walking up to them in the alley.
"We found him, no thanks to you." Shikkun glared.

"Hello, Rylee." a familiar, but unidentified voice said inside her head. "If you go toward the supermarket, you'll be able to flank him. He'll jump off in that direction next." it said.

Miles observed the Tattle-Tale Strangler fly about. After being confused beyond belief at how asinine their situation was, Miles continued to ponder how to "fight that thing". Henry's shots weren't doing a whole lot it seemed, and they were the only thing the team could rely on to take "this guy" down. In fact, did he even have a name? Henry's question about reasoning with him made him wonder if they could at least tag a name on "this guy". In fact, Miles decided he was going to call the strangler "this guy" until something better came along.

Henry's prior suggestion of catching "this guy" off guard didn't help Miles's planning that much. Miles already assumed that distracting "this guy" was a good way to render his choking useless as well as making him easier to hit. How they're going to do that while this guy can fly around was the question...

Then Miles worded his thoughts, "We...can't create a vacuum to put a stop to his controlling air...I actually don't think disrupting the air with a giant fan" (yes, he thought of that) "or something is going to do anything. But what if we move or lure him into a confined space? Like in one of these buildings? Then he doesn't have as much room to perform crap like that," Miles motioned in the direction of "this guy" flying around, "and we have a better chance of giving him a hard time or even interrogating him."

Kim, who had been walking with his head down, was taken by surprise when Kardon called to him and instinctively reached for his handgun. When he noticed it was one of his fellow ZEUS members, he let out a short sigh and put it back in its holster.
"Hey Kardon. Sorry, I'm just kind of stressed out right now, lots of stuff going on..." Kim rubbed the bridge of his nose and sighed again. "Cavalry? You mean the other guys? I heard something about them having a job to attend to... I could help you look for them, I have to wait for Cap' Corvae to come back before we can finished some business, anyway", he said, gesturing back the way he came.
He was about to start moving that way when he stopped himself and asked, hesitantly: "Say, do you know where my sister is? And, er, if Mint... woke up...?" He dropped his gaze to the floor and scratched the back of his head, his one making small, nervous twitches behind his back.

[Xartarin]

Kardon tilted his head in confusion. "Your sister's gone? Mint's unconscious? I didn't even know!" Kardon turned away slightly and crossed his arms. "Well, you can't expect me to know where all my subjects are at all times, I suppose. I'm a busy man! Oh, which reminds, that impressive thing!"

With a clap of his hands, Kardon vanished in a flash of light and instantly reappeared behind Kim. "ARE YOU NOT IMPRESSED!?" He shouted immediately, his hands in the air.

"Have fun with that," Henry said as he unplugged the rifle's extra battery and dropped some other weight. He ran over to the building next to the one the wind guy landed on and found a fire escape. He blasted the latch off the ladder, causing it to slide down, and immediately started racing up. They weren't very tall buildings, so it wasn't very long before Henry could see the strangler and started firing as he sprinted up the stairs.

As he was now receiving fire, he took off running toward the door, attempting to enter the building. Not bothering with the lock, he simply blew the door open, and then sent the thing whirling at Henry like a giant throwing star, taking off down into the building.

"Rylee." The voice came in inside her head. "He's not jumping off that way anymore. He's inside. Everybody should start taking cover."

Miles stood there as he watched Henry, almost dumbfounded. Then he turned his attention to "this guy" and saw that he was entering the top of the building. "Oh hey, it looks like he's doing our job for us. We could corner him by just walking through the front door!" Miles said as he began walking towards the building. He didn't run just in case no one followed him to back him up. He also stooped down, grabbed the battery Henry dropped, and held it for as bit. Then, deciding it was pointless to bring with him because he wasn't MacGyver (and besides, it was a rifle's battery), took it with him anyways just in case. You never know when it could be useful (and Miles was a bit of a pack rat anyways)!

"Holy SHIT!" Kim shouted, taking a surprised step away from Kardon. "How did you do that? That's awesome! Didn't one of the guys we fight have that power?" He said, looking from Kardon to the place where he was before and back.

((Not much to see here, but not much to do anyway.))

"Quantum physics, probably, to the first question," Kardon said, glowing with smugness, "And 'yes' to the two sentences after. You see, I am king of all things, and that includes superpowers. Therefore, I can-"

Kardon disappeared and reappeared on the other side of Kim. "Teleport. It's basic logic, Kim, and it would benefit you to learn some proper logic so you can do impressive things like me. Maybe some day you TOO could be a king of... being a green-haired winged freak of nature, I suppose?" Kardon put his hand on Kim's shoulder. "I hereby announce you to be Kim, duke of being the only one here with a sibling! Hazaah! Shall we get a feast to celebrate? I want to eat humaaaahams, I want to eat lots of hams."

The door clattered against the fire escape railing as Henry reached the top. He had managed to drive the windy guy into the building. "Sorry old girl," he said to his rifle before tossing it to the other rooftop. "Now, time to do something stupid and reckless myself."

Henry took a few steps back and made a run for it. He leaped off the edge of the roof and crashed into the other building, just barely managing to get a hold onto the roof. He scrambled up, grabbed his gun, and ran inside to hunt down the phantom strangler.

As Henry began entering the building, there was a powerful gust of wind coming from inside. A second afterward, there was a loud crash of glass breaking.
"The hell!?" Shikkun shouted, looking up to see office furniture (and personnel) raining down from the building's windows. In a sweeping motion, the windows on all lower floors followed, spewing desks, chairs, and appliances down onto the streets below.

"Goddammit!" the airpad soldier ground his teeth for a second and took off running toward the building, gun drawn.
"Hold up a second!" Shikkun yelled after him, before a metal filing cabinet came crashing onto his back. Pausing for a few seconds, Shikkun shook the cabinet off and continued on, holding his back as if it were a less significant injury than it appeared to be.

Before Miles could take another step, the windows of the building shattered as the insides of said building were being spewed out. A wooden desk landed a couple of yards to the right of Miles, sending splinters in all direction on impact. Miles turned and blocked them with his metal arms, which deflected or caught the debris. As Miles, a bit shaken began plucking out the wood that DID get caught, the second round of windows broke and a stapler was coming right for him. He quickly dodged out of the way as the butt of the stapler whizzed past his head. That…was too close…” Miles thought to himself as he quickly stepped back to the rest of the group.

((Kinda reminds me of this.))

Hyunseo stared into the ceiling above her bed for nearly half an hour, which in turn felt like nearly two years. She wasn't used to sleeping during the day, so her body and eyes felt wrong. Slowly turning sideways on the bed, she pushed herself off, forgetting it was a bunk bed and she was on the top one.

Hyun landed poorly and fell onto her knees, grunting heavily as she did. She stood up and dusted her clothes, whispering to herself about how this was a silly event and she should be laughing at it. Deciding she just needed to grab a bite to eat and everything would be better, she stepped out of her room and into Kim.

Kim raised an eyebrow at Kardon's comments but just laughed them off. "You're such a nut, Kardon. Alright, let's go, I could have a bite to eat as-- Fuck!" He shouted, hearing a loud noise on the women's dorm room. "Did you hear that? Hold on a second, I have to go check it out." He reached for the doorknob, but the door swung wide open and he was greeted by a head of green hair crashing into his chin instead.

Both Lao siblings stumbled backwards a little, rubbing the collision points and grunting under their breaths, before simultaneously saying "WHAT THE FU-- oh!" Hyun's eyes widened and she flung herself forwards, wrapping her arms around Kim. "Bro! You're okay!"
Kim exhaled violently and let out a pained "Y-you're killing me, th-though." Hyun let him go, a smile stamped on her face, only then noticing Kardon further down the hallway. She grinned and waved at him, clearly overjoyed by seeing her brother awake and well once again.
