An enigmatic man, the best and worst of all, the greatest and least of all. Someone who, day in and day out, observes the trembling black heart of society, watching every twitch and hearing every lurch. Listen to the sounds that they make then, in that most honest of states. Bring him your findings, and listen to the portents that he unravels from the shrouded girth that are the excretions of your brood. What you make of these portents is down to the wayward leanings of your id, determined by your search for zest in a life where no such good can be found. He knows this, and you feel a kinship with him for it. Understand him now, and you will not be surprised that when the end comes, when the people gnash their teeth and cry that God is dead, he will still be there, e'er unmoving but for the slightest twitch of a smile about his lips as the children learn the truth that he was born knowing. This man asks not for your help, your tribute or your friendship. He is no god, no spirit, no supernatural force. He is a man that has seen the truth of this absurd existence, and the path he has chosen was one of his own design. Go back to your world, and drink, make love or destroy as you see fit. He allows it. He places no restrictions on people, for he knows that it is not right in the grand scheme of things, and he will not hold it against you. He is not God, he is not a god. He is just a man. He watches. |
