Port Mercer began as a quaint, bustling port on the east coast of Georgia... quaint, besides its tendency to attract the wrong kind of attention. It was common knowledge that the docks, along with various establishments downtown, were infested with pirates. But something drove them out of their safe harbour and the town was left to languish for nearly a century, something the few townsfolk that remembered did not speak of.

Most from the neighbouring cities were still afraid to settle there, even with the pirates long gone. Then came the civil war, bringing it back to life- at a price. The town's strange reputation resurfaced once more, however this time it was from the talk of ghosts instead.

But prosperity was not to shine over Port Mercer forever. It was eventually overshadowed by the neighbouring town of Savannah, and fell into obscurity once more.

"Are your hands clean?" Abel asked, watching him skeptically as he touched the wheel of her modest little 911. Well modest or not it was one of the few things she had a soft spot for and she couldn't help but take the compliment.

"It is." Then she looked into the rear view mirror. No sign of the guy (or shouts of obscenties). Just a few people mulling about the streets outside and the dim lights coming from the few open stores.

"Stop over there," she said, pointing at the sidewalk.

Gavin raised a brow and pulled the car over leaning back in the comfortable seat. "Well that was fun" he said digging through his bag for the Captain Crunch cereal he bought and stuffed some in his mouth, chewing and swallowing with great satisfaction. "First drop of food for two days, trouble makers like me need food. So don't judge." He looked her over.

"Well you don't seem to be putting on much weight, not judging," Abel shrugged, wishing she could eat like that at times.

"How'd you even get here without money, if you don't mind me asking?" she said, eyeing him up and down. She doubted anything he was wearing was new, bought, or actually his.

He shrugged. "I used to professionally rock climb so at the train station I bet a dude I could climb up this huge wall for a ticket. He didn't believe me so here I am." He smirked stuffing his box back in his plastic bag. "Hows your darling friend doing? Scared from CD trama?"

Rock climbing? Impressive. Abel had given that a try back in Cairo, annoyed to find something she couldn't quite get a handle on.

"Does everything come down to luck for you? Or are you just that confident?" she asked, intrigued but slightly disgusted at the same time.

Gavin laughed. "Its not about luck, I'm just that good." He simply said. Big Ego yes? But could you honestly blame him. No. "Come on, life's all about taking unrisky chances. For example that coin was rigged, I knew I would win end of story."

"Unrisky chances," Abel snickered, that was a nice way of going about rigging it. "Tell me, how often does that ego get you in trouble?" she asked again. Was really interrogating him now but might as well, he owed her hell of A LOT for that ride, especially after that thing in the record store. She shuddered at the thought of anyone seeing her here with him. It was a Wensbrook thing...

Gavin scoffed. "Ego. Just a word invented by big wig nerds who were jealous of the confidence of other people. My dear my ego, is what helps me get into anything. Including your beautiful car." He simply stated as if it were pure logic. "My ego is also telling me were not going to sit here all day and theres food to be eaten. IF you want to join me?"

Abel scoffed. "I've got my ow- SHIT," she growled, bunching up the hem of her skirt in one hand. Of course. Her stomach growled just a teeny bit, to make her previously mundane matters worse. She forgot to grab her chips when she ran out earlier, and having skipped dinner she had no choice but to grab his box, and gingerly grab a handful of cereal.

Yes, Ms. Mousa, almost queen-bee of Wensbrook had been reduced to eating cereal with some rock climbing con man in her car.

Gavin smirked as he watched her curse her hunger. "If you rather a nice dinning area miss princess we could always stop somewhere on the road" he suggested grabbing back his back and eating another handful. "Besides I paid good money for this box, I don't intend on sharing too much" he winked at her.

Abel sat still for a bit, entertaining the thought. It was possible, not like she couldn't afford it. But she'd have to find the most secluded place possible. Not just for actual dining but getting out of her car, walking into the said restaurant and parking as well. She had to go about this very carefully. Gavin was pretty intriguing for someone she couldn't stand, she rarely associated with...his kind. She laughed quitely to herself for thinking like that. But wasn't that how they treated everyone else at school? A different species entirely.

"You enjoy watching other people eat?" she asked curiously. Clearly couldn't afford his own meanl. Wasn't exactly dressed for fine dining either.

Gavin shrugged. "Its called free bread love." He took her response as an answer and started up the car again, driving down the mildly bland road. He looked at her radio, finding it really confusing with all the buttons unlike the small radio his dad had in his truck. "Yell when you see a place" he offered. He knew what kind of girl she was, how she had to be seen with certain people. How he didn't qualify. It wasn't the first time in Gavins life he didn't qualify for much, he just learned to grin and bear it. And besides it was just a meal right?

"Garibaldi's," Abel said, pointing to a sign in the distance in what she deemed a stroke of brilliance. Place was so dark she could barely read the menu, and it should have been pretty quiet this time of night- not that she couldn't get a table whenever she wanted.

"Leave it to the valet when you get there."

Gavin chuckled deeply as he looked into the distance at the place she had suggested. Figures. He shook his head as he pulled in, the Valley guy coming to take the car as he scoffed. "I can park my own damn car" He said. "And it won't cost you fifty bucks." He revved the car into the parking lot area, sliding it in gently before stopping and smirking. "Perfect parking and It didn't cost you a dime." He pulled the key out of the ignition and tossed it into her lap. "You owe me a drink." Was all he said before he stepped out of the car.

Jake couldn't help but grin as he waited for Nora. They'd planned to meet up here, mostly because he didn't want to show her what he had on campus, or anywhere near it. He wasn't stupid enough to want to get caught, or worse, be seen by Liam or Bailey. Nervously, he rested a hand against his messenger bag.

Nora twirled her dark hair around her finger as she walked down Drayton Street. Her usual route of ferry and taxis had worked as always and she had managed to not spend a cent, not even the taxi since she had convinced a much older man to pay for her taxi, making a big scene over just trying to find her sick mother. It had worked amazingly well and she had managed to walk the rest of the way in her knee high black leather boots and blue babydoll dress. New, of course. She walked the street and saw Jake finally.

She ran up to him and pecked him on the cheek. "Hey babe." She said brightly, her cheeks pink from running and the light chill of the rain the drizzled at strange intervals.

"Hey." He smirked. "Haven't seen you much lately. So... I've got a little something for our quest to change me." Jake said simply. "Something I got from a new friend."

Nora just gave an uneasy smirk at that first comment. She had been avoiding him purposefully, the last time they had hung out she had been kind of pushed aside. But Nora wasn't the kind to hold grudges or even remember anger after a couple days so she was fine as long as it didnt happen again.

Nora grinned a small grin, "Okay daredevil, show me!"

Jake rested a hand against his bag again. "Sorry about the other day. I just... didn't want you around Lee." He looked away. "My whole life I've always shared everything with him. And I just wanted something for myself for once." He opened his bag and pointed down at the ziploc baggie.
