Books and more books. She slid into a chair, closing her eyes in relief at how comfortable it was. At how comfortable the whole place was. She shuffled through her bag and retrieved the book 'No Exit' It was written in french, something she originally had difficulty adjusting to, but with a little practice, found herself remembering just how lovely her native language was. In fact, she had started mixing English and French unknowingly. She had read the play during her second to last year in Aix en Provence, and even played the role of Ines. It was emotionally stirring to say the least, to play the role of such a heartless woman. Reminded her of her mother. Ha.

If he were at home Solomon would have slipped a few of these books into his bag as he walked in. But he wasn't. Taking didn't have meaning for him anymore. He just wanted somewhere to sit down, think and wallow in his own self-pity like he had for the last weeks. He grabbed the first book on the shelf and sat down one chair away from the only girl that was there.

Solene looked up and smiled slightly, then looked back down at the book. Wait a second... She took a double take and looked at him fully. She was gawking now. She couldn't help but stare. There was something so appealing about him. And then she saw his eyes. Ha! Wasn't it a little early for Halloween costumes? Still, red eyes aside. He was easy on the eyes. "Where was I...?" she asked herself allowed, accidentally of course. That probably made you sound rude! Maybe he didn't hear...

"Huh?" Solomon heard the girl say something. "Did you say something?" he asked her looking up for only a second and then back down at the book he had in his hands. Some zombie thing, though he doubted their existence just a little less now. What what him being possibly undead and all. Wasn't sure what he was, exactly. But waking up in a pool of blood is probably a clue.

Good job. "Oh sorry, I was just thinking aloud." THAT VOICE! So smooth. "Wow..." Snap out of it! "Uh sorry." she chuckled awkwardly and tucked a loose piece of hair behind her ear. Luckily, she always managed to make herself attractive to others, even when she was making a fool of herself. "So, whats with the contacts?" she mused. Might as well just talk to him rather then talk about him with him right there yeah? Of course it was. "You must like Halloween a lot right?"

"Uh. Yeah, actually I wear them all the time," Solomon said. "Halloween? Great," he nodded, okay, just make everything up as you go along, he told himself. Ignore how good she smells. Not like perfume good- good to eat. In fact he could feel himself salivating. He'd been alone for the last few hours, almost forgot about this problem. Why did people have to be everywhere?

Of course she smelled good. "Ohhh," she chuckled. "I've never been a huge fan of it myself...That's cool though. I mean if I liked it enough I think I'd dress up a lot." She clenched her jaw and sucked in air. Ha. Somehow she felt that things weren't going to end well. "I guess you're staying here?"

"Uh, never mind that was a dumb question." she chuckled and picked up her bag, tossing the book in and letting it slide to the ground. "So, whats your name?"

She stopped breathing out for a second. THANK GOD. Taking in a deep breath, he began to reply "Yeah, staying here," he nodded, leaving his head down and putting his hand under his nose. You know, like he had a cold or something.

She wondered, momentarily if her breath smelled or something. He was so...un-talkative. Maybe she was overestimating her charms and looks. She flipped her hair a little bit, looked down to make sure there was a little cleavage. Check and CHECK. "Are you sick or something?" Only explanation she could find. "You don't have that Croatoan thing do you?" That stuff was serious. Why isn't my girlish charm penetrating his exterior?! She squinted her eyes. His icy demeanor had her hooked.

"Croa-what?" Solomon asked, very, very confused. Was that an STD? Some kind of flu?

"It's nothing," he shook his head- what he was really trying to do was get the scent away. Oh yeah, name. He missed that. Lot of things were distracting him right now. Her heartbeat. The scent of her hair. The faint shadow of a vein peeking through her wrist.

"And I'm Solomon...what about you?"

Anyone who took sex-ed would know that Croatoan was NOT an STD. There was no pleasure involved in contracting that disease. She laughed. Was he joking with her. Maybe he wasn't kidding...She cleared her throat. "Solene. Nice to meet you." she didn't bother raising her hand. She had a strange feeling he wouldn't take it. "Well, it sure doesn't seem like nothing. Do you have allergies maybe?" Little did she know, she was giving him good lies. "I've got some napkins if you need them." she reached down into her bag, and strategically held them in her hand so that he would have to brush against hers.

"Thanks," Solomon said as graciously as he could, still keeping one hand under his nose. Then he proceeded to pretend to blow into the napkin.

"Yeah, I do have a few allergies," he nodded. Which was true! It was just that he shouldn't be getting hay fever during fall. But he could always make up another one...dust?

Her alarm on her phone went off. Signaling her bedtime. "Oh shoot." she nodded at his thanks and then snatched up her bag. She had a LOT of things to do in the morning. "Well, it was nice meeting you Solomon. I'm sure we'll see each other soon yeah? Have a nice night." she simpered and swayed on off to her room.
