Austin - November 6, 2008 02:50 AM (GMT)
Austin continued down the street of the Southeast Boulevard, a slight smile on his face despite the clouds in the sky overhead. He hadn't been doing...anything really...with his time since he'd gotten into town, nothing beyond exploring the area anyway, and he had to admit that he was, on some level, pleased with the town he'd picked. It was far better than Vermont at any rate and that was really all it needed to be better in his mind. As long as it wasn't Vermont, he didn't particularly care.
Not that he had anything...against his home state. He just...didn't want to live there anymore.
As he mulled this over, Austin ran a hand through his hair and glanced up at the empty street again before tucking his hands into the pockets of his jacket and continuing onward.

Scarlett - November 6, 2008 02:57 AM (GMT)
Scarlett ventured onto this quiet street just outside of 'Hustler', just the kind of people she would love to bump into. She brushed her bleach blond hair to the side to reveal her cleavage as she saw this man walking down the street. She turned in the opposite direction, adjusting her bra, and pulling up the skirt of her already short dress.

She wasn't one to really try and hackle her customers into giving her business, but she hasn't eaten since she left the big city. Her employer taking all her money, before pushing her out of the car.

Austin - November 6, 2008 03:03 AM (GMT)
"Hey," Austin called kindly to the woman as she emerged onto the street, running his hand through his hair before tucking it back into the pocket of his jacket and continuing his slow paced walk. He had never really been one to be overly friendly, but he did not object to greetings or beginning conversations with other people. And this woman, he was glad to note, was attractive, just like everyone else in the town seemed to be. Was it some sort of requirement or something?
Could towns actually do that? It seemed a bit harsh to him...

Scarlett - November 6, 2008 03:10 AM (GMT)
She rose her eyebrow, and puckered her big red lips into a smile. Biting her bottom lip before she spoke. "Hey." She said as softly as she could with her raspy voice. Brushing her hair behind her ear, she gave him a quick look over. It wasn't very often an attractive man, would look at her, let alone strike up a conversation. Maybe it was a good thing she got pushed out of the car. Always look to the positive no matter, what shit life dealt yah.

Austin - November 6, 2008 03:13 AM (GMT)
Austin couldn't help but raise an eyebrow in slight surprise, a bit uncertain what to say now. It was rare that someone returned the greeting without a confused look accompanying it.
"Umm..." Austin nodded slowly before slowing his walk a bit further, uncertain if it'd be rude to keep walking now that she'd greeted him in return. "What's up?" A frown tugged at Austin's lips as he tried to think of what else to say but the only thing that came to mind was stuff about carpentry. Or something along those lines maybe. He didn't really have a lot more rattling around in his brain to pull from for conversations.

Scarlett - November 6, 2008 03:19 AM (GMT)
Hmm She gave him a slight smile, and cocked her head. Was he trying to ask her if she was busy? Most guys don't beat around the bush when they wanted something. But she thought might as well make the customer feel as comfortable as possible. She was really good at that. She giggled slightly. "Not much I guess. Just seeing what the town has to offer. Yourself?"

Austin - November 6, 2008 03:22 AM (GMT)
Giggling? He hadn't thought he'd said anything particularly funny but...maybe he'd been mistaken. He hadn't intentionally said anything funny. And if it had been funny unintentionally...well...at least she'd gotten a laugh out of it.
"The same really," Austin returned with a slow nod, shifting his weight uncertainly as he listened to her response. "Debating if I want to check out any of the stores or anything while I'm out. I've been in Target already but..."

Scarlett - November 6, 2008 03:27 AM (GMT)
Scarlett grinned as she looked up at the 'Hustler' sign. She knew she was a better time then what he'd get out of a video. But of course if he'd pay her enough she would let him video tape. Scarlett wasn't one to say no to money. She nodded with him. Waiting for him to get on with business, she was all up for customer chit chat, but well... she wasn't getting paid to chat. Time was money.. and he was starting to take up her time. She batted her eyes, and touched his arm slightly."Soo.."

Austin - November 6, 2008 03:32 AM (GMT)
"Oh, no, you misunderstood me," Austin shook his head as he watched her gaze shift upwards to the Hustler sign and bit the inside of his cheek as he tried to figure out how to explain himself. "Not...that kind of store. I meant like...Target or something," Whoops...he hadn't meant to come across as a serious porn watcher. "No, when I said I've been to Target, I meant that as like..." He chuckled uncomfortably. "I went in there for groceries," He glanced at her in obvious surprise as she reached out to touch his arm and smiled weakly before running a hand through his hair instead. "Uhh...so..."

Scarlett - November 6, 2008 03:40 AM (GMT)
He was cute. She had admit she always loved the random strays that don't fit in with her normal schedule. As bad as it was.. she always gave them better service. Extra stuff to make them come back to her for more. She put on the sweetest smile. Flipping her hair as she bit her bottom lip. "Oh okay." She nodded, giving him another look over. "Soo.. what were you looking for.. this time." Scarlett pushed her chest together, tastefully, as she opened her mouth slightly pushing her tongue against her teeth.

Austin - November 6, 2008 03:46 AM (GMT)
"Huh?" Austin glanced back at Scarlett, tilting his head slightly in confusion as he tried to figure out what they were talking about now. His gaze naturally strayed a bit lower as she seemed to almost purposefully adjust her chest and Austin glanced quickly back at the ground, trying not to seem like too much of a pig. Maybe it wasn't so much the women in town as it was him.
"Oh...you mean at Target?" He shrugged and scratched his jaw before glancing back at her. "They've always got a pretty decent selection of things. I saw soup last time I was in there that I think I'm going to try," He half smiled. "Like...extreme chicken noodle. Not for the faint hearted,"

Scarlett - November 6, 2008 03:53 AM (GMT)
She stared at him with slight confusion as he went on about soup. What did that have to do with anything? "Uhm.. Hmm?" She bit her lip as she tried to find herself back into the conversation. Did she miss something, or were they just discussing soup? She brushed her hair out of her face. God she was hungry. Sure she didn't like rushing a customer into a purchase but if she didn't eat soon she was sure to pass out. Touching his arm she went on. "Did you wanna go back to a room, or stay here and talk about soup?"

Austin - November 6, 2008 04:11 AM (GMT)
"What?" Austin's eyebrows lifted in surprise and he tilted his head slowly, trying to figure out where the...extreme...change in subject had come from. There hadn't even been any lead ins this time. Unlike Lilith and Tameryn, this girl had jumped straight to the point without commentary or booze.
There had to be something in the water in this town. Something that...only affected women? Or he'd turned into some sort of catch following his move.
"A room?" He repeated a bit dumbly, frowning in uncertainty and confusion. What the hell was he supposed to say to that?

Scarlett - November 6, 2008 04:15 AM (GMT)
She looked at him with a puzzled look. Why was he so confused? He was the one that came up to her. It's not like she was throwing herself at him. She just wanted to get down to business. She laughed and slid her hand down his arm. " Well yeah.. You don't expect us to do it right here in the street, do you?"

Austin - November 6, 2008 04:18 AM (GMT)
"Do it in the street? Ummm...No, I'd prefer not to get arrested thanks," Austin said, shaking his head quickly, his brow wrinkling in confusion. "I'm just...a bit confused with the town I suppose. Are all women here this forward?" She was the third one he'd met who was after all. Which made him a bit of a man-whore. Or desirable.
The second sounded better in his mind anyway.
It fit in better with his lack of desire for a relationship.
"Why so....impatient? Or...eager? Sorry, I don't think I know exactly which word to use to tell you the truth,"

Zizou - November 6, 2008 11:09 AM (GMT)
"You are so oblivious!" Zizou exasperated told the guy out front Hustler's. "Do you want her services or not? Come on, give a try" Zizou kept a warm smile on her face constantly to show she was only amused not annoyed.

Zizou let out a small giggle "Sorry for getting involved" She apologised.

Naomi - November 6, 2008 04:21 PM (GMT)
Naomi smirked to herself at his words and reached over to pat his cheek. "Well, your cheeks are pinchable..." she teased, winking at him like he'd done twice before at the station.

Once he pulled into the street, Naomi's brows lifted at the sight of the crowd gathered by one of the trees lining the street. "Is the cat that popular?" she muttered while Jack maneuvered the truck down the street.

Jack - November 6, 2008 04:32 PM (GMT)
"Ha! Just the ones on my face?" His eyebrows raised suggestively at her before focusing fully on the road. "Maybe its The Cat in the Hat?" He pulled up, turning off the ignition before jumping out of the truck.

Naomi - November 6, 2008 04:34 PM (GMT)
Glancing once at the crowd that she could hear murmuring and whistling for the cat to come down, Naomi finally joined Jack on the ground and placed her hands on her hips. "So Mister Jack, what does a firefighter do in such a predicament?" she asked casually.

Jack - November 6, 2008 04:45 PM (GMT)
Jack looked up into the tree where the cat had situated itself, "Well we get it down Red, thats what we do." He looked at the tree now, it wasn't too high a normal ladder will suffice. Nodding towards the people gathered he added, "Get these lot away no doubt they're scaring the cat even more."

He strode to the back of the truck and proceeded to unattatch the ladders.

Naomi - November 6, 2008 04:55 PM (GMT)
"Yes sir," she answered saucily and jogged to the crowd. "Good morning everyone!" she called out to them and at first, they were much too preoccupied with whistling or coaxing the cat with food. She sighed and cleared her throat. "Hello! Everyone!"

A few of them turned around to face her and Naomi waved warmly. "Good morning. We're from the Port Mercer Firestation. Right now, I'd like you all to take a few steps away from the tree." She waited until they started moving backwards, murmuring as they did. That was when she noticed two strange things by the tree. Right where the Abyssinian cat was sitting was a bird's nest and the cat owner stood by the foot of the tree, crying and gesturing for her baby 'Peachie' to come down from the tree.

She sighed and walked forward to the woman. "Excuse Madam... Could you come stand with me? My partner is getting a ladder and will get Peachie from the tree."

The woman turned her watery brown eyes to Naomi and sniffed. "You promise?" her voice was timid and soft that Naomi almost didn't hear her words correctly until the woman tugged at her sleeve.

"Yes, I promise... Now come stand with me and tell me all about Peachie while my partner gets her out."

Jack - November 6, 2008 05:05 PM (GMT)
Carrying the ladder over to the tree, Jack steadied it against the trunk. He beckoned over a lad from the crowd as Naomi led the owner away, keeping her preoccupied. "Hold this steady for me." He ordered as he went to climb the ladder. As he climbed he noted the nest next to the cat, reaching it he called out to it, "Hey kitty, you found something interesting?" He reached out towards the cat only to have it move away from his hand. Jack sighed.

Naomi - November 6, 2008 05:09 PM (GMT)
Naomi nodded, listening to the woman talking about how scared her cat was of rough objects and how she normally wrapped the cat in cashmere. She watched her partner, Jack, as he climbed up the tree to beckon the cat forward and with no success. "So your cat likes eggs?" she asked.

The woman nodded vigorously. "The doctor said I should stop feeding it since it had constipation a few days past and it's been so grouchy. I should've listened to my instinct instead of that stupid doctor."

Jack - November 6, 2008 05:14 PM (GMT)
Jack came off the ladder and climbed into the tree, careful not to knock the nest. The cat hissed as he approached and backed into the trunk, Jack stretched out a hand and picked the cat up, letting out a soft hiss himself as it dug its claws into his hand. Mumbling expletives he made his way back down the ladder

Naomi - November 6, 2008 05:17 PM (GMT)
Naomi and the cat's owner gaped at the tall firefighter spewing out expletives as he descended from the ladder, the cat raging and growling while planting its claws in Jack's arm. She stepped forward but stopped when Jack gave her a firm look. Standing still as he approached Peachie's owner, she frowned in concern at his arm.

Jack - November 6, 2008 05:20 PM (GMT)
Jack scowled as he handed the blasted cat back to its owner, "Your cat." With that he practically dumped the thing in her arms and turned on his heel, going to collect the ladder.

Naomi - November 6, 2008 05:22 PM (GMT)
The woman profusely thanked Naomi and Jack's back as she planted kisses on her fussy cat. Naomi managed a smile, watching the crowd dissipate and return to their duties. Then she turned to Jack, following him back to the truck. "You okay?" she asked gently once they settled inside, her eyes noticing the puncture wounds on his strong arm.

Jack - November 6, 2008 05:27 PM (GMT)
Jack grunted as he started up the engine, "Bloody cat." He glanced down at the spots of blood as he set off down the street, "Woman should keep more control over it." He scowled at the stinging in his arm but ignored it for the most part.

Naomi - November 6, 2008 05:29 PM (GMT)
"Wait, stop the car, Jack... Let me clean your arm before we get back to the station." She lowered her head to a compartment right in front of her seat. "I know there's a first-aid kit here somewhere."

Jack - November 6, 2008 05:30 PM (GMT)
Jack sighed pulling over at the side of the road and watched her rummage around.

Naomi - November 6, 2008 05:32 PM (GMT)
"Aha, there it is!" she exclaimed, pulling out a small red-box with a white cross on the lid. Glancing once at his bleeding arm, Naomi winced and pulled out some gauze and hydrogen peroxide. Unstrapping herself from the seatbelt, she scooted closer to his chair, her knees brushing his thighs as she cupped his arm on her lap. "We don't want it to get infected..." she muttered and began cleaning his wound.

Jack - November 6, 2008 08:20 PM (GMT)
Jack flexed his hand as she went about bandaging him up, "You're just looking for a reason to touch me, Red." He grinned at her cheekily wincing slightly as she applied a little too much pressure.

Naomi - November 6, 2008 08:23 PM (GMT)
Naomi glanced up at him. "Am I?" she answered saucily and glancing behind her and out the window, she leaned forward to plant a kiss on his cheek. "You were so brave today," she teased.

Jack - November 6, 2008 08:32 PM (GMT)
"Oh practically heroic." He was thick with sarcasm as he leaned closer, he could feel her breath against his cheek, his hand sliding up her thigh. "But we have to remain professional Firecracker." He pulled back abruptly, before pulling back out onto the road.

Sean - December 12, 2008 05:43 AM (GMT)
There was something about this Port Mercer place that Sean didn't like already or maybe it was just because he was to drugged up whatever he had in his pocket when he left home. His eyes kept closing every time he walked. It was warring off and he had to stop. He sighed putting his hands to his face rubbing it, then rubbed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose. Trying to relax he blinked a few more times now resting his back against a building. He was just to high to focus, he knew she should have taken it. His heart was working twice as much as it normally should have been. He kept his breathing steady now though, he didn't want to die or anything, it was just hard to focus.

He reach into his back pocket looking for a phone number to the dude who sold him the stuff. He wanted to curse him out, he felt sick to his stomach little by little. He was going to kill this man if at that.

Raia - December 12, 2008 05:58 AM (GMT)
Raia stumbled down the street wrapping her arms around herself she was clutching her jacket in her left hand not even bothering to put it on. She saw a man in the distance he was walking towards her she got a little nervous. After all she wasn't in her tiny hometown anymore. The man rested against the side of the building she was closer now and could she him more clearly. He had a angular face, long dark hair and almond shaped eyes.

Sean - December 12, 2008 06:05 AM (GMT)
It was everyday that he felt this way even if he did do this things to his body. He swallowed after feeling slightly better but that's when he heard footsteps coming closer he looked to the direction it was coming from and what'd ya know! it was a very beautiful woman who had seemed to be really stupid. She was walking with her coat in her arms instead of on her and not freezing half to death like she seemed to be. He cleared his throat before tempting to walk over to her but then on second thought, this chick would probably end up beating the shit out of him just for him trying to talk to her. So he fixed himself up a bit more then what he had probably liked like and he smiled only to her.

Hoping that was good enough for her to not think that he was some kind of pervert or anything. "Aren't you cold? You should put that coat on." He called out to her now that he was making the attempt to walk to her.

Raia - December 12, 2008 06:24 AM (GMT)
Raia was surprised to hear the guy speak to her as she got closer she took another step only too fall forward she tried to catch herself with her hands as she hit the icy side walk but it didn't help anything her knee bashed off the concrete and she slid forward stopping inches away from the mans feet. “Damn.” She mumbled feeling like an idiot. Her coat was now behind her.

Sean - December 12, 2008 06:37 AM (GMT)
Sean had only been trying to be nice to the woman, the way he was feeling at the moment wasn't one for a bad moment at that. He was just about to ask her something else but it slipped his mind when he acted fast as she fell. He didn't think twice and walked the rest of the way over to her. "Shit, are you okay?" He asked bending down to her eye level, he didn't want to touch her if she didn't want him to. " I'm not gonna hurt you, alright?" He said smiling at her before putting his arm around her to her other side and slowly he was getting ready to pick her up. "On the count of three i'm going to pick you up to help you. Maybe I can help you home or something."He told her before he started counting to three.

"One, two, Three, come on." He said picking her up slowly hoping she wouldn't throw up on her anything, he could smell the alcohol on her and it was something strong, this chick was partying for a good reason; that or she was just a nuts case like he was.
