No, it was aimed at members both old and brand-new whose identities are not obvious from their forum names and who have provided neither links in their signatures nor a website address.

For those 'older' members who almost never post here, it's not an issue, of course, and you can disregard that request. But if you do start posting regularly, you should try to add a link where possible to establish who you are/what sort of poetry you're into.

If that looks like being a problem, feel free to email me with reasons why it's not possible and a large bribe.

Oh, and welcome to Tim Turnbull too - and several others, Matt Merritt and someone else - dreadful memory! - who have recently joined. I spotted Tim reading this thread and was instantly struck with guilt that I had not officially welcomed him.

In spite of heavy hints, I'm STILL getting numerous applications to join this forum from people not using their names - as far as I can tell - in their forum 'nicknames'. Those applications tend to get deleted because it's too much of a pain to say yes and then have to monitor the first few posts to check they're not spammers.

So please, if you're thinking of joining, USE AN IDENTIFIABLE REAL NAME in your nickname and, preferably, contact me beforehand to make sure I know who you are (via one of my blogs, for instance). Or you could end up on the reject pile as a possible spammer.

Also, be aware: you CAN post on this particular thread as a non-member. I check all posts before they appear, that's all. So you can leave a query right here, right now, if you wish.

Just scroll down and click Add Reply at the very bottom of this page.

(NB. I check posts waiting to be approved about once or twice a week. So there may be a delay in seeing your post appear. For speed, email me instead.)
