Atra smirked, a sarcastic laugh rising to her throat. "There's no such thing as a clean slate in life, Vegas. Just because you go somewhere new does not mean you get to start over. People believe that, they say it and they live it. But it doesn't work that way. our past has ways of coming back to you, and in my case, it never leaves me. She placed her right hand just below her chest on the scar that lay beneath and rested her left arm across the table. Its always hear with me, it'll never go away. No matter what I do I am still Atra Curain, the Lethal Sha-"She stopped mid-word. She'd said to much. She folded her arms again and sast back in her chair her scowl returning and her violet eyes focusing on something besides Vegas.

Vegas stretched a hand out to touch her arm gently, but she drew it back before he had a chance. He almost looked hurt, looking at her with nearly white eyes. He lifted his hand back and pushed a bit of his pink-and-black hair behind a thrice-pierced ear. He sighed and looked down at the one hand splayed against the table, examining his chipping black polish, before she stopped short.

His eyes snapped up, and he looked at her expectantly, she hadnt finished. She was looking anywhere but him, but she seemed to have closed herself off now, like she wasnt going to talk to him anymore "You.... you shouldnt have told me that?"

"No." Her voice was a mix of angry and distant. She couldn't bring herself to look at Vegas. Why was the pale little drag queen s easy to talk to? Damn him. She Shifted back in the chair pressing her back against the hard back. Her thoughts boiled, she wished she was back at the academy. She could always phase and leave. But for some reason she couldn't bring herself to ditch Vegas like that. She looked down, her eyes tracing her tattoos. Each one bringing back foggy memories and bloody nights.

Vegas moved forward on his chair, stretching an arm out so his fingers lightly brushed over hers. A thick stand of bangs fell from behind his ear, framing his face once more as he looked up at her, his eyes concerned but serious- determined even.

"I wont tell anyone, I promise. I'm good with secrets, they belong to you, and if you tell me that means you're trusting me... either that or it slipped out and you really dont want me telling you any of this..." He grinned sheepishly, some attempt at a bit of humor to lighten up the mood a bit.
