Letters from Home

Ydris cleared his throat a little, standing quietly just inside the entrance gates to the school. He felt a deep sense of calm clashing with the frenzy of his mind. The letter to his mother had not been easy to write. Her response had not been understanding to his plight, but, nevertheless, the elders had deigned to send him companionship. This brought him peace. Someone else like him would ground him, help him to stay as himself.

‘Imran,’ called a voice above the click of tiny hooves.

Ydris snapped out of his dreaming and looked up, catching the face of his new compatriot.

Oh god. It had to be HIM…

‘Didani,’ he managed formally as the smaller Imperial skipped over the entrance way, smirking self righteously, his tumbling midnight hair bouncing briefly before settling back smoothly over his slim shoulders. ‘It is an honour.’

‘Good to see you too, cherub,’ Didani purred, his voice syrupy. He patted Ydris’ arm, looking up and across the campus with a whistle. ‘Poor dear, all this civilisation getting to you.’

‘Mind your tongue,’ Ydris snapped, turning on his heels and offering Didani his arm. The other Imperial took it, and they walked briskly up the path towards the school.

‘My god…’ Didani mumbled, ogling the surroundings. ‘Her ladyship might have warned me it was so very… plebeian.’

‘I’m sure mother assumed someone with such utter decorum as you would take it in his stride, Didani.’

Didani sneered. ‘Oh, I will. She says you sounded positively frantic in your letter, Imran-dear. I cannot guise my surprise- one can expect anger from a fiery little thing such as yourself, but panic? Goodness, these monsters are humanising you!’

‘I have faith in your support, Kasper,’ Ydris responded drily. ‘The prescence of my own will assist my work and help my… ailing.’

Didani snorted. ‘One can only hope. If you fail in this, Ydris, they won’t have you back.’

‘I am aware of that.’ Ydris ran a hand through his hair, sighing. Didani pulled him to a halt.

‘My god,’ Didani sighed. ‘How broken you’ve become.’ He brushed a little hair from Ydris’ quiet, pensive face. ‘You’re barely glowing.’ He shook his head and squeezed Ydris’ arm as they walked on. ‘Each worry, each burden you take on will weigh your heart down and steal precious moments from you, cherub.’ He sighed. ‘Now I’m almost glad I had to come.’

Ydris snorted. ‘I’m glad to have some use.’ Didani laughed, and they walked on.

Ly hadn't been having the greatest day of his little life, he had failed a test and not to mention the fact he was becoming the lowest ranking student in the school. It was killing him inside, but that wasn't the only thing.

But he refused to drone on it any longer, the more he pushed it just didn't work, so, he stop bothering. He wasn't wanted, but now he knew how much. He was always told he wore his heart on his sleeve.

And it ached.

He kept his head low books in hand but he didn't look up, if he had he would have turned around and went another direction. But he didn't, not until it was too late, nearly walking into the dainty taurs his fur on end, "I'm sorry! I...Ydris.." he whispered.

Ydris froze up, hooves digging into the gravel and jerking Didani to a halt. Didani snorted, and opened his mouth to complain, but the glazed, fearful look in Ydris' eyes made him think. He looked at the other student briefly.

'What's that?' he asked sweetly, gesturing vaguely at Lytec, a pretty smile playing on his delicate lips. Ydris jumped a little again, looking down at Didani.

'A first year,' he managed. Didani made a thoughtful noise.

'Studying hard?' Didani mewed, pulling Ydri's arm closer to him. Ydris looked studiously at the gravel, his mind playing out the inevitable events he could see pounding towards him. He felt the panic rising in his throat, and he knew that Didani sensed it to. Was Didani trying to protect him, or just gouge open barely healed wounds? It was always difficult to tell with him.

Ly's ears flattened to his skull hard, he didn't even know who this guy was, but it was a better match for Ydris than he was. "I see i have no name now.." He whispered.

"It is fine. I get it. No need to have your pathetic little lover here to prove anything Ydris.. I'm gone.." He whispered walking off but his fur was still standing on end, he couldn't, no, he didn't want to see it, Ydris rubbing his nose in something like her were a bad animal.

"If you didn't want my affection you never needed to accept anything from me..fucking tease.." he grumbled.

(Ly's pissed)

Didani stiffened a little, watching Lytec turn. Ydris swallowed, taking what he was given, trying not to think about it.

'...Lover?' he asked airily. His gaze drifted to Ydris' broken, terrified face, and back to Lytec's, and smirked. There was a vicious crack as he struck Ydris across the face. Ydris stumbled, head down, hair spilling across his reddened cheek and hazy eyes. Didani straightened his back and stood a little taller.

'You idiot,' he snarled, grabbing Ydris by the arm. 'So I'm here to patch you up because you can't keep your filthy dick in order, is that it? You bastard.' Ydris shook a little before straitening up.

'It's not like that,' he managed before Didani slapped him again. Ydris bit his lip, but didn't flinch.

'I don't even want to look at you,' Didani hissed. 'But it seems I'm stuck with you none the less.' His tone softened, marginally, still loaded with venom. 'I WILL have the full story out of you, Imran-dear. And Her ladyship and the elders will hear of it too.'

'Naturally,' Ydris ground out, lifting his head, eyes cold and cheek burning.

That.. smack. The, Twice, all the fur on Lytec's body never stood straighter, his back bunched up and ears stayed the same looking at Ydris's burning cheek. He spun and roared like the big cat in him should and rushed Didani his paw raised and struck him down sending the pretty little thing tumbling and kept a firm hold on Ydris until Didani had left his side.

"Don't you ever.. fucking DARE... touch him.. EVER in your FUCKING life touch him like that!" He roared claws out following after him as if ready to finish him off and he would if he ever did that to Ydris again.

"A rat like you has no means of touching the likes of him.."

(ohhh he had that coming... i will fix this if this isn't want you had in mind.)

Ydris winced when Lytec struck Didani. Yep. He'd seen that coming. But then Lytec was moving towards Didani...

'No!' Ydris yelped, throwing himself in Lytec's path, arms out, eyes wide. 'You mustn't!' He blushed, looking away painfully, but kept his stance. 'He's allowed to...'

Didani lay, sprawled, for sometime. He wiped his lip gently, noting the pure, sparkling blood where his mouth had broken against his teeth. He glared, eyes lethal. Gently, slowly, with perfect grace, he righted himself, and began pulling the bits of grass and debris out of his long dark hair.

'Are all the students at this school like this?' he asked gently. Ydris said nothing. 'Or did you just chose a defective one as some perverse kink?' He scoffed. 'It would be so like you, Imran-dear, to make trouble for yourself.'
'I didn't choose anyone,' Ydris blurted. His gaze flicked up to Lytec. 'Please!' he mouthed, desperate.

[Catolf]

Lytec paced snarling darkly wishing for Ydris to move, but he wouldn't make him, he couldn't. He couldn't do anything without Ydris wanting him too.

"You are a fool Ydris.." He snarled a terrible roar ripping from him was Didani as he spoke. "If i see you alone.. I'll rip out your throat.. You touch him again as you did.. your dead.." he whispered in a hiss and frowned at Ydris.

"Him.. over me.. huh..?" he looked away trying to hide the fact he had tears in his eyes and stalked off, if looks could kill, Lytec would be a mass murderer.

'How dare he...' Didani hissed, eyes glinting and hair shifting as his horn glowed.

'No!' Ydris shouted, turning on Didani. 'Leave it!' Didani wilted a little, looking incredulous.

'My god, Imran,' he groaned. 'You really are messed up, aren't you?' Ydris didn't argue, but he couldn't supress a bitter smile.

'S'why you're here. Are you hurt?' Didani sighed.

'My faith in existence is severely bruised,' he moaned. 'I shall need scent bottles and cold compresses before the day is through.' He frowned. 'Why are you defending him? He's only-'

'Because he doesn't deserve what you could do to him,' Ydris said bluntly. 'And because it's no doubt my fault.' He smirked. 'All things seem to be these days.'

'Quite,' Didani purred, folding his arms. 'If he so much as lays a claw on me again, Ydris...'

'I won't stop you,' Ydris confirmed. 'Much.' He sighed, clutching his head. Didani trotted to him, and took his arm.

'Come,' he said gently, anger spent. 'I want you to look at my grazes, then I'll make something to settle you.' Ydris nodded weakly, shaking. Didani tutted at his friend's malady, glaring daggers at Lytec.

Ly stalked off trying to find a place to curl up and hide/ swallow down his anger. He was rejected and replaced with someone who hits him!?

He didn't understand, because he didn't lay a hand on Ydris in a cruel way he was rejected? It made no sense. Nothing made sense. "I guess i just don't have a high enough standing to ever approach Ydris.. huh.." a bitter laugh came out but he managed to make it to his room before falling into a heap of tears.

He really wasn't wanted.

Ydris' ears perked as they were walking towards the school.

'He's crying,' he mumbled, 'Oh lord, he's crying...'

'And?' Didani squeezed his arm. 'Ydris you are hardly yourself. You don't have time to fret over the passing highs and lows of others. It is beneath you, if nothing else.' He made a face. 'That... thing... no good will come of him. If you try to comfort him you'll merely lead him on, and sink him lower.' He huffed. 'Silly normal creatures are like that.' Ydris bit his lip and said nothing, the hair down his spine standing on end. He could still feel the gentle crackle of... something... where Lytec had kissed him on the Full Moon. He could still feel the hot, wet weight of his passion in his hand. He felt to many feelings, and they made him feel cracked up on the inside. Didani may have been self righteous and higher born than him, but he did know a thing or two about the imperial way. Ydris prayed it would be enough to save him from himself. And he prayed, too, that Lytec would understand.

Lytec had never felt so much like a worm than he did now, but something did dare to cross his mind. What if he could convince him or something, anything to bring him back. That he was a higher standing than what Ydris thought of him.

If he could prove himself Ydris might find himself wanting him around, even if it was only on speaking terms.

Even that seemed like a stretch. Ydris would never want him. Because he wasn't royal, he wasn't worthy of even looking at. It took everything he was not to fall again into tears and hold firm.

"I never had a chance..."

Didani chittered in his sleep, so Ydris left him to it, apologising to his rather rudely ousted former roomate, before fleeing the common room for the quiet coolness of the halls. He found a window seat in a quiet loop of corridor, overlooking the grounds, and the far entrance gate. He sighed, looking out at it, settling and pulling his cloak around him to suppress a shiver. He tucked his feet up under himself, looking down at a hand in the darkness. Didani was right, he was barely glowing. Not a good sign. He rested his temple against the windowframe and sighed, shakily this time. His eyes, misted, gazed outwards as he tried to steady himself, calm down, cheer up...

After a while Lytec couldn't cry anymore. He hated to admit it to himself, but he wasn't wanted from the beginning, so why would he be now? He let out a bitter laugh and edges out of his room, his eyes were red from crying, but other wise he looked at peace with himself.

He wasn't wanted... it wasn't the end of the world...

it wasn't the first time he had been rejected..

The halls were quiet and with his furred paws he too was the same, that was until the tiny sound of little hooves caught his ears. He stuffed his hands into a crossed position and followed the noise to find Ydris leaning against the window, looking pretty and otherwise pitiful. He sat out of sight and silent.

He should leave, that way Ydris should never have to grace his eyes on him again..

Ydris gasped shily, swallowing hard, blushing in shame as fat tears rolled down his cheeks and his glow diminished further. He couldn;t stop himself, and shook silently, staring blearily out into the grounds, biting his lip hard. He didn;t even know why he was upset anymore. He was just so conflicted and miserable, and Didani was still too pissed and extremist to be of any help at all. He dipped his head, heaving in a sobbing breath, his hair looping and tumbling onver his shoulders and around his face.
