Something about the rights isn't it? I heard this rumor too. I hope it's not true. :(

Anyone remember "Watchmen Babies: V for Vacation" on The Simpson's?

I'd wager that if they've come as far as they have someone will fork out the money, or whatever to get it to the screen. Though it would be neat to see a big budget movie like this get shelved... what a moment in history that would be.

Fox is being really dickish about this, but it's really WB's fault for not READING THE CONTRACT!

As it stands right now, the trial will begin in January 09, so hopefully if all goes well, it won't delay to March release.

But as it stands right now, Fox doesn't want compensation. They just want to movie burned. Maybe they're sore that they could never get it going and now it looks like Snyder knocked it out of the park?

I see both companies responsible, WB for the reasons K mentioned and Fox who waited that long to file a lawsuit.

I wish I could get excited about this... Maybe the movie will be a rare case of it being better than the source material... *sigh* I'll admit the song is pretty good for the trailer though. I liked it.

Well, considering the source material is shit, and Dawn of The Dead & 300 were fantastic, I have no doubt in my mind...

I agree that he's over rated, but after reading TOP 10 I could sort of see what he wanted to do before DC made him give up the Charlton characters. The pirate story was dumb, the reports were ok but took up a lot of the book.

Well, now, see? Aside from that shit, I thought the story was decent.

Halfway through, I stopped reading those parts, and by the time I finished the book, I didn't feel like I missed anything... ^_^"

Those are good points. I have liked some of the film adaptations of comics I didn't dig so much. I just wish they'd do a kick ass Superman movie, or Flash, Wonderwoman... anything from DC with the big heavy hitters. I dig the Marvel movies so much and it sucks not seeing the characters I grew up loving given the same care.

Don't get me wrong I'll watch this as soon as I can but it better be a damn sight better than the comic.

Watchmen gonna suck!
Watchmen gonna suck!
Watchmen gonna suck!
Watchmen gonna suck!
Watchmen gonna suck!
Watchmen gonna suck!

[guitar riff]

Watchmen gonna suck!

Watchmen gonna suck!
Watchmen gonna suck!
Watchmen gonna suck!

[drums solo]

But I'll watch it anyway."

Don't get me wrong Tenime I'm excited to see it coming. I'm literally thinking about it at least twice a week or so. They've been replaying X3 and every time I see a commercial for it or the show on I think. "Damn! I can't wait to see Wolverine!!!"

I'm gonna go watch it and have a total blast! I'll be holding in the giddy school girl screams at the kick ass on the screen...

Then when it's over, a week will go by and I'll be thinking about something in the movie and it'll hit me. "That was fake as hell." or "That's stupid! They totally screwed up that character!" It may happen much later, it may never happen, it may happen while I'm watching the movie... but I try and keep my hopes way way way WAY down now days.

I've seen too many great movies that turned out to be total crap and it broke my spirit a little bit. So rather than hate the movies and skip them, I get excited but I hold back a little and expect disappointment. Like the new Batman movie. I heard too much about it, well too much hype about it, and I was getting more and more disappointed each time because usually the movies that critics and fans love, I tend to find a little bland or halfassed.

You know what I mean?

I don't know if you check the JoeBattlelines anymore but I have a crap load of stuff up there for sale/trade. I'm trying to get some cash for a fucking $400 book I have to buy. It's actually two books but it's still a shit load of money and I don't have it.

HA! I just realized I posted this on the Watchmen thread... I was talking about Wolverine but the same goes for Watchmen. Well not the part about seeing previews for X3 and thinking of it. My roommate is reading the comic again and I keep seeing posers reading it at school so it's crossing my mind as well, just not as often.

I just finished it for the second time.

What's funny is the first time I read it, I was fresh-faced and naive, and I hated alot of it.

My second time going into it, I did so with the attitude that Alan Moore is an over-rated hack, and I ended up liking it a little better this time around.

[sarcasm]

Well there's a case of different strokes for different folks. I always loved the really shitty parts of the story that made me want to throw up. The good parts I could have really passed on. ;) [/sarcasm]
