(Author’s note: This took place after the events of Ignition.)
As Nighthawk staggers back to the locker room, flanked on each side by students from the PWA Academy and a literal phalanx of referees, one can’t help but notice the beginnings of tears coming to the eyes of the “Wrestling Machine”, perhaps the most noticeable sign yet that he wanted nothing more than to finally win the one title that eluded him. Leaning against the bat rack in the dugout Nighthawk suddenly retches violently and pukes into a bucket, clearly feeling the effects of the private little war Nighthawk and Kaito had for the Light Heavyweight Title. Staggering to the back the Chicago native looks behind him and sees our camera crew, quickly waving us off as he is in no mood to entertain us. And thus we leave him, having seen once more again the depths to which his desires run for glory and respect.
