PWA COMMONWEALTH CHAMPIONSHIP Title Facts Longest Reign Kalevala (178 days) Most Reigns Anthony Pelizzoli and Hellfire (2 Reigns) Most Defenses In Single Reign Kalevala (5 defenses) Most Defenses In Total Kalevala (5 defenses) 1. Kalevala At Pojocade V, it was announced that the unification of the Television and European titles would occur. The participants in the match included: Television Champion, Tom Tyco, versus European Champion, Kalevala, versus Eagle versus Chaos. In a hard fought battle, the end result saw Kalevala pin Tom Tyco to win the TV and European title, thus making him the very first Commonwealth Champion! (1/28/07 - 7/22/07) 2. Anthony Pelizzoli Kalevala's reign as the first Commonwealth champion would come to an end at Insanity's 133 episode. Facing stiff competition in a Fatal 4-Way involving PWA veterans Hellfire and Bman, it was the youngster Pelizzoli who exited the match victorious. Kalevala had 5 defenses before losing. (7/22/07-9/16/07) 3. Hellfire Anthony Pelizzoli won the title against 3 other men, but unfortunately one of these men, Hellfire, became agitated over this and went after the title at Extreme Destruction. After a hard fought match, Hellfire managed to pick up the win in his own invention, The Highway To Hell match. Pelizzoli had 0 defences before losing. (9/16/07- 12/2/07) 4. John Henry At Meltdown, the Railroader stepped into the ring with one of the largest men to ever grace the Pojo Wrestling industry, Hellfire. And even if he might have thought it, or looked it at times, Henry would not give into his intimidation. Finally besting the giant, in a match that would see him go on to win his first title in PWA. Hellfire had 2 defenses before dropping the belt. (12/2/07 - 1/27/08) 5. Anthony 'The Don' Pelizzoli (2) Just a little over four months after losing the title, Anthony Pelizzoli reclaimed a price that he never thought he rightfully lost. At Pojocade VI in Montreal Canada, he went on to soundly defeat John Henry in a match, that surprised many by seeing the return of Wrath. This victory marks the only time this title has been held (at this point) by the same person more than once. John Henry had 0 defenses before he lost this match. (1/27/08 - 3/2/08) 6. Hellfire (2) After winning a #1 Contendership on the Insanity before Pandemonium over Mr. Anonymous, Hellfire went into the pay-per-view looking to reclaim what he lost just four months ago. Anthony Pelizzoli seemingly had bitten off more than he can chew as Hellfire made quick work of the The Don. Anthony had 0 defenses before he lost this match. (3/2/08 - 04/20/08) 7. Sully Sully defeated the champion Hellfire and another contender - Mr. Anonymous in a triple threat match for the championship. Hellfire was incapacitated prior to the pinfall but watched as the referee's hand counted the "3" to reward Sully with a hard-fought win. Hellfire had 2 defenses before losing. (4/20/08 - 5/11/08) 8. Streetz At Three Hours of Power, Sully put his title on the line against Streetz in a hardfought battle that saw these two former TKW members take it to the extreme. Despite Sully having control of the match at several key points, ultimately it was Streetz who stole the win, along with the Commonwealth Title with the help of a well placed chair shot. Sully had 0 defenses before losing. (5/11/08- 9/18/08) 9. Adam Senton At Havoc: Trial of Champions, the career underdog, Adam Senton, surprised the PWA World, with his upset victory over the Champion Streetz, in rather easy fashion at that! Claiming his highest prize in the company, Senton was able to end a modest 4 month long reign from the previous Champion. Streetz had 3 defenses before he lost his title! (9/18/08 - 12/01/08) 10. Eagle Easy come, easy go for Adam Senton. After holding onto the Commonwealth Title for two and a half months, the small superstar lost the title to Eagle in a rather sloppy loss at the Toyota Center in Houston Texas, at Meltdown 2008. Adam Senton defended his title 1 time before he lost it! (12/01/08 - 2/08/09) 11. Bman Variety is a word that comes to mind with Bman as the Commonwealth Title becomes his ninth different title in the PWA, defeating Eagle at Insanity 191. Eagle defended his title 4 times before losing. (2/08/09 - ??/??/??) This post has been edited by The Oakster on Feb 10 2009, 09:07 AM |
