Getting up off of her bed, Siara reached for her purse, which contained her ID, and slung it over her shoulder. She was tempted to go to the cafeteria without shoes on but knew that she would be turned away faster than she could blink so she opted for slippers. Hey, her feet were covered, they couldn’t complain. The soft fluff of the inside of her slippers gently massaged the bottoms of her feet as she left the dorm room, leaving the door open behind her for Alessandra to lock.
Waiting in the hall for a moment for her roommate, Siara choked back a yawn. It had been a long day, and she wasn’t sure if she had dance rehearsal tonight or not. If she didn’t, she had to at least try and use some studio space to work on her piece for the end of Fine Arts Fest. Seeing as she hadn’t even decided what style of dance she was doing, that was going to have to be her priority for the week. After all, the end of the month was fast approaching.
“So, what are you doing for Fine Arts Fest? The theatre kids go do scenes in the park, right?” It was small talk, but it was better than nothing. “Have you started practicing it yet?” Being a dancer, Siara didn’t know much about acting except that it was something she could never do even if she tried.
The pair reached the doors to the cafeteria and made their way in. Upon opening the door, the delicious scent of garlic mashed potatoes teased Siara’s nose. “Hold that thought, we can talk about that when we eat,” she directed at Alessandra. “I’m too hungry.” She walked up to the serving area, scanned her ID, and went in to get a plate of goodness.
