Shiki Ryōgi: A teenaged girl, who possesses the "Mystic Eyes of Death Perception", a supernatural ability that allows the user to see the inherent mortality of everything in the form of lines and a single point . A cut along any line will bifurcate the object, no matter the sharpness of cutting tool used, and a stab at the point destroys the object's origin, causing instant death. She recently recovered from a two-year coma caused by a traffic accident. Prior to the traffic accident, she originally had two personalities, a male personality named Shiki ,and the original female personality Shiki. Children born into the Ryōgi family are generally male and are raised with two personalities, so the male personality is customarily called the "yang" personality, while the female is called the "yin" personality. It is easy to tell which Shiki is speaking at a given time because they both have a distinct style of speaking, most notably that the female Shiki refers to herself with the pronoun watashi ,while male Shiki refers to himself as ore. After waking from her coma, Shiki discovers that she can no longer feel the male Shiki's presence and assumes that he died because of the accident. She also feels a detachment from her memories before the accident, and while she knows she is Shiki, she does not feel that she is. In the hopes of regaining herself and the "dead" Shiki, she puts on a cold façade that somewhat resembles the male Shiki's and tries to act as the female Shiki did. Tohko understands the sense of detachment Shiki feels, but considers the current Shiki a third, new personality. She finally admits that she harbors feelings towards Mikiya Kokuto, saying that without him, she would only return to the emptiness she does not want.

Trailer for dvd 4 and 5, its been a long time, I rewatched the first 3 movies the other day to refresh my memory (awesome stuff, especially movie 3 "MAGGAAAAAAREEEEE!!!!!!"). I also heard that the light novels have been licensed and will be released in English around mid 2009. Shiki is a pretty awesome protagonist (typemoon have had a good track record with Shikis lol, loads of them).

I don't have a clue why the second title is "The Garden of Sinners" it doesn't make too much sense so far, its not even a translation of Kara no Kyoukai, which translates to Empty Boundry lol. Thats my only criticism of the series XD Still, I guess The Garden of Sinners sounds cool, and it could become relivent later on.

Episode 5 raw came out a couple of hours ago, torrenting as we speak http://www.tokyotosho.com/details.php?id=187038. So far I've enjoyed the 3rd movie the most.

I wish Tsukihime would get an anime movie series like this, because as we all know THERE IS NO TSUKIHIME ANIME (lol). In all seriousness though, I'm sure the Fate/Zero novels will get similar treatment to KnK.

Just watched it, and I have to say it was pretty great. Had that kind of confusing Art-house film disjointed plot that I love (as a film student lol), an awesome support character and great fight scenes. Best Kara no Kyoukai yet!

Also, most confusing part to watch in raw... Shit its 2.11 on a School night, Typemoon, what have you done to me?!!! (heh heh)

This movies was FUCKIN BRILLIANT and i agree with ya best soooo far I wa like OMG when Aozaki was killed then she shows up and is like all Im not dead FEAR MY SUITCASE OF DOOM! I kept expecting Tomoe to go ANIKI, at some point since he's voiced by Tetsuya Kakihara and we all know that he did the voice of Simon from TTGL. Now Shiki is my fave Type-Moon charecter not Rider she jus tooo brilliant so i can now say Shiki is my Waifu XD.
Next movie looks SWEEET! I hop it's just as long as the 5th.

According to the official site http://www.karanokyoukai.com/, the next film to come out is called Remix- Gate of the 7th heaven, which I'm guessing since its not the title of any of the original novels, its going to be a recap film of the 6 movies before it (It is a Remix afterall)? If it is I hope they do it in the way Gainax did Evangelion Death and Rebirth, that was a pretty decent recap movie. Judging from how the production staff works its not going to be any ordinary recap, expect something artistic.

Its coming out to cinema on the 14th of March, still no sign of release dates for the cinematic release of "A Study in murder Part 2" or dvd release date for the 6th movie as of yet.

Nah, I'm guessing the remix isn't the last one, Study In Murder Part 2 is the final chapter of the books and that will be the final movie, carrying on from the 2nd one. I think it fair to not count the remix from the 7 movie total, sounds like a last minute addition.
