Possibility to moving in a new board

Right now, I'm trying to see if it would work to recreate OZ in a new IF board, adjusting to a few new systems (stressing the idea in the Oracle Zone). MoAC will not be around that OZ anymore, and watch, because it would likely disappear here too. Still being discussed though, but highly likely, regarding MoAC.

The idea to move to a new board is my own initiative. I refuse to turn the board offline even so, just disabling posting. Regarding what everyone would be most concern of is their journey and profile. Of course you will keep your profile, but for the journey, if ever this moving becomes final and a success, then we will try our best for you to clear the area, then you will start at the next area by the new board.

I think it's the best opportunity to announce this, now that we have 400 members and...so many posts =P It's been a year, though I was not with the board all throughout. Anyway, quantity doesn't matter for me. I can even announce here who the participating members are, and it's nice being small yet big.

I'll try keeping up with the updates while working on this. Of course I accept opinions and questions for this matter.

Restarting my journey in Area 002.... no.
I've gotten so far... I don't want to restart, not only will it take too long but all that progress I've made with my team.

Gonna have to reload all the sprites, all the topics will have to be replaced...


I like the OZ the way it is, I don't really want to have it recreated...
I most likely won't move along with this change... I'll just stay here...

No restarting of journeys, I have said. This means you will finish Area 002, then move to Area 003 in the new board, not restart Area 002 in the new board. I'm never going to announce a restart, just as much as I will never abandon OZ.

As for the sprites, we just have to fight against laziness.

Topics won't be replaced, but reposted, like the rules. We will be reposting profiles, but I don't see what's so, ah, damaging in anyone's part.

The new board is OZ. The reason for that is because [1] to make the board run faster, hopefully [2] To be a little fresher [3] To update what has to be updated, and for selfish reasons, to make myself board admin. Sometimes, it's hard not being root admin...well, not really, it's not. That's the least reason anyway, but there are times when I just don't feel the board when it's not mine. A selfish feeling indeed, but I have nothing more to say about that.

I know there's good reasons for the move, but I agree with Riku. Not for the same reasons, though.

I don't want to move because A: I'd probably miss the Memo. It happens everywhere else to me almost, at some point or other. B: I'm lazy, and would never remember to change the addresses in my favorites list. C: I'm not sure I completely understand why the move is being considered. What's so different with the 'new' Invisionfree that we don't get here? And how's it so great?

Restarting? I haven't done anything. Even if I did end up restarting, it wouldn't make much difference to me, really. And yes, I'm aware you've said restarts will not be issued. Thank you for that. All the same, I still wouldn't suffer terribly.

@B. I'm going to provide a giant link in front of OZ to the new board. It would be hard to miss
@C. It would be faster in a new board, I would assume, and on a very light note, I'll be root admin. I can also arrange things and members would have the energy to look around since it's new and all. They can read all topics since there won't be a lot yet. Normally, it's like that, rather than viewing the same topic that has been edited. Besides, MoAC won't be there and instead, there's an emphasis of the Oracle Zone -- guides, gems, magic, mystery, murder...er....people, plot-wise. It's like a full steer to the whole changes of OZ.

As for your comment of the restart, you'd be surprised how your journey's disappearance will ruin a lot of the current plot. *clears throat*

Of the few systems I'd like to stress is the Secret Base, use of weapons and magic (which is quite natural in OZ, but you don't know that IC) and Persona. Same plot though. That's apparently untouchable.

Oh and Quests. I've been planning for so long to finish the OZDex, filling the right information but my brain is jumbled.

I'm kinda.... on Tanz' side on this. But only slightly. I like OZ like it is now, and moving everything will be a drag, but...

Being the admin of a board that died twice and was recreated twice, it's a whole lot easier just to be root and have FREEDOM. OZ is slow, even I notice it. It's also kinda... messy, from what I have observed over the past months. The more you try to fix it, the more messy it becomes.

The only thing I dislike is that I won't have all my journey on the same board, anymore. But I'll just copy and paste all the posts into Word. I did that with Melia, before the board died.

I'm not thrilled about it, but hell, I'll deal with it. I'm flexible so...

Don't worry about the sprites. I'll do the uploading. But I finally heard someone say the board is messy, and I agree with Mana's point that the more I fix it, the messier it is. You guys say you like the board as it is. Well, by physical appearance, the 'new' Oz wouldn't be so different. If not by that, well, I'm not sure anymore.

I'm working on it as we speak. If I receive negative comments regarding the new Oz, will stop the attempt. While that has yet to happen, I'm glad everyone's sharing their opinions *cries*

I guess I posted here to say that I will support Tanz and Oracle Zone no matter what the decision will be. As much as I like InvisionFree, it has a tendency to act stupid these days. I think the idea of waiting until everyone has finished the current area is a good one. That will give everyone enough time to prepare for the move. As for the matter with re-uploading the sprites, Tanz, Tarkya and I were uploading quite a few already earlier. Around 60-70 Pokèmon sprites from Kanto have been uploaded already.

Their help was voluntary. Not forced or by responsibilities as a mod. Yes, I did not blackmail anyone...*clears throat* not that I ever did...yea.

Of course, this is still a possibility, as I have said, but very, very high. Maybe 90%...

Count me in, because yeah, this board is messy, (no offence meant, but some systems needs to be simplified, at the least in the explanation, and the less rules topic, all in the same place, the better, because else it gets confusing. And many of the Moac categories could be unified as well, to me ;D), and I'm too braindead with exams and lessons to keep up with everything everytime something changes XP

I'll have to finish with Area 002, though. :D

PPS: And to be really lazy, you could make an activity check topic before the moving so to know what profile and such to post over the other board and what not. If this OZ is not going to be deleted, the profile of a late member can be found anyway, after all. This will also give an idea of many people are still 'alive' and how many aren't.

Well, I've already simplified the systems ;D Although I wish to edit something about the stats, it will make it more complicated so what the changes that has been done during March will be brought over ^-^ Except the Quests. Playing World of Warcraft has its benefits. I've never played so many RPG before because of...let's not go into details *goes gloomy* anyway, ideas were refreshed and I get to compare things here and there.

The major change would be the integration of MoAC. I love the harbor though. You will see them again (and because needtoscream worked hard on those :( and they were awesome *_/\* )

Anyway, yea! I think though you're too busy enough so it's fine with just Tarkya and needoscream helping around. Course, it's still welcome. Uploading sprites, most especially! Even though I said I'd do it o.o; But I will! Too! Yea!

My opinion on the matter:

I personally enjoy having an archive of my journey. Perhaps, if we did move, could we somehow restore our archived journeys if we request to do so? That's my main concern, but if it is simply a matter of rearranging systems and such, couldn't we do it right here? There's gotta be some way to ease the lag that some people are having, and recreating the board elsewhere probably wouldn't fix that. Also, if it is a matter of activity, summer vacation is coming for many, and once it does come, a lot of activity will probably return regardless of a move.

Well, those are my two cents. As this is not my decision to make, I have given my input and will support whatever decision is made.

There's no reason for me to deny archiving, so why not? It's perfectly fine if the move is final.

If there is a possibility to move, then I'd rather wait to start my journey until it's clearly decided... I'd rather not bother starting when I know I'll have to start again anyways. ^^;

And as for profile moving... you were considering having people making their own profiles, no? Maybe the move would be an excellent time to put this kind of system into effect?

You read my mind, Tarkya. It's one of things I want to implement. 'How' was the question though, but shouldn't be too hard to figure out.
