Sheppard's Paradise. The town was named for the man who discovered it, Joseph Sheppard. The "Paradise" half seemed to be ironic to people passing through town, since the place was a dump. There wasn't much to see in Sheppard's Paradise; there was an old deli, a inn, a sheriff's office with two jail cells, and a run-down saloon.
