Basically, you can use sources like Wikipedia for the history filling in the missing gaps using your imagintaion and the plot where necessary. If you wanna play any characters who are not mentioned here then feel free, as long as they're not mentioned on the list of deceased characters, with the right amount of persuasion one or two of these people could come back from the grave .
