On the Hill, The Dens

[Myst]

A white wolf sat on her haunches, her fluffy tail wrapped around her paws. Her crystal blue eyes looked out across from her vantage point atop the hill, towards the deep green of the forest in the distance. The wind rustled her fur and she shivered. Turning her gaze to something nearer, Myst surveyed the packlands - her packlands. The dens scattered around the hill on which she sat were well sheltered, but not very well hidden. That didn't matter too much though, she didn't think the humans came this far away from their settlement.

She skipped down the hill, a smile playing about her muzzle. It was perfect. Her tail swished in the wind, but the sun still shone and in the shelter of the mound it wasn't so cold.

[Eldarwen]

Another figure padded towards the alpha. She was dark brown in colour, with a few black marks around her fur. Pale blue eyes looked to the white wolf before her and she gave a smile.
This wolf was Khoe, the beta female of Myst's pack. They'd been friends for a long time, since they were little pups and the pair had always been together excluding the escape from the humans and the heading to Pleasc.
During the travels though, Khoe had many thoughts about the humans, what if they returned? Myst was right though, they probably wouldn't come this far out. Why would they when they knew the packs were repeatedly made in the remains of the lands from the Old Alory packs that had passed.

[Myst]

Looking incredibley pleased with herself for finding this terrain, Myst grinned at her friend.
'What d'ya think?' she asked, gesturing vaguely around her. 'All it needs is a few members in the dens, it'll be just like home.' Her eyes glinted with an energized sparkle. It was a bit quite out here, but nothing a few more voices wouldn't sort out.

[Eldarwen]

"It's brilliant" Khoe nodded and she gave the lands a glance over. It was good to see her friend like this. Back in Pleasc Myst really hadn't been herself, she'd been quiet and worried, here though, she was at ease and the lively wolf once again.
"And I'm sure it won't take long for members to come" She added.

[Myst]

'No.' Myst agreed. She bounded back up the hill, and squinted to view the border. She glanced down at Khoe. 'Do you think we could go and see the old packlands? You know, just take a look.' She twitched an ear. That was part of the reason she came. To see what had really become of their old home, the place she was born.

[Eldarwen]

"It should be safe now, and we won't be long" Khoe stated as she padded up the hill beside Myst. She looked out towards the old forest, her old home. "Maybe others are there anyway, looking around to see if any of the pack remained here" Khoe realized as she continued to watch. There couldn't be any harm in going there for a few moments to see there old home, the hunters wouldn't return until they were sure a whole pack was there anyway.

[Myst]

With no more reason needed, Myst half-skidded down the hill again. She beamed childishly.
'Race you there.' Without waiting for an answer she bounded away laughing, turning her head to check her friend was following.

[Eldarwen]

"Cheat" Khoe called after her as he friend raced off in a head start. Though Khoe did have the advantage of the hill, running down would let her gain speed quickly, so long as she kept her balance. Myst had stopped at the bottom then started again.
Sure enough, as Khoe ran down the hill she gained more speed than her friend on flat, and although she lost most of it once away from the base, she did manage to catch up with Myst.

[Myst]

Myst stuck her tongue out at her, and pressed on, trying to keep the lead. It was a long way to run though, and soon she began to tire. The grassy slope gave way to tundra, then as they neared the north the border rocks.

[Eldarwen]

"Which bit of the border will we enter through?" Khoe asked between breaths as she continued to chase her friend, she also was beginning to tire a little, though she knew she still had plenty of energy left to continue.

[Myst]

'Through the stream - it's just up ahead.' Myst panted. Sure enough, the meandering path of the stream could be seen not far away. The surface rippled and shone in the sunlight, seeming to dance.

[Eldarwen]

Khoe pushed herself a little bit further, reaching the point at the same time as Myst.
"Still evenly matched then" She gave a small grin as she came to a sliding to a half. It was something she'd often done as a pup, even in mud, but the brown hadn't shown up clearly on her fur, all it did was make it a little matted. Now though, the weather was dry and simply a small shower of dust rose around the air. She looked to Myst, smile still on her face, even as she panted.

[Myst]

Myst arrived back first, and padded halfway up the hill before turning to face the new members. 'They're all around here.' she said, gesturing with a flick of her muzzle towards one of the half-hidden dens.

[Eldarwen]

"Thank you, does it matter which ones?" Euoke questioned. He knew there were no other wolves here, but they may have to be put in a certain den. He didn't know, but he thought it was best to check.

[Myst]

'No, except this one's mine.' Myst shrugged, indicating the den below the hill she now sat on. 'I dunno if Khoe's chosen a den yet...' She looked over her friend.
