Hunting

[Myst]

Myst paused at the edge of the Tundra, scanning the terrain for possible prey. Rabbits skipped around, knawing at the plantlife before prancing away again for a juicier leaf. She could not see the herd of deer.

[Eldarwen]

Euoke arrived silently beside Myst, his brown eyes watching for any sign of a bigger prey than the rabbits, still unaware of the wolves nearby.
However that wouldn't last for long as Aonew arrived.
"Found anything?" He asked, rather loudly and turning his head to look, seeing the rabbits bounding away for cover.
"No, maybe it's best if you don't say another word until I tell you that you can" Euoke stated as he looked to his brother, hoping that Myst wouldn't be annoyed with Aonew for losing them the rabbits, the only prey that had been in sight. Maybe they'd find something else though, something bigger.

[Myst]

Myst was more amused than annoyed. She glanced back at the two brothers before stalking further onwards. The alphena scented the ground and looked over to Euoke.
'The herd has been here not long ago.' she whispered. She scanned the horizon and scented the soft breeze.

[Eldarwen]

Euoke nodded, having picked up the scent also. As long as they found the herd and they weren't scared off by Aonew, the hunt would most probably go well now.
He moved off slightly, following the scent across the grass and lifting his head to watch for any other signs. Veering off to the side, he spotted a deer grazing in the distance and he looked behind to his alpha.
"I can see them" He said quietly, turning his head to look at his alpha. Aonew scampered over to his brother's side and watched where he was looking.

[Myst]

Myst nodded, drawing up beside him.
'Try not to disturb them,' she said, mainly to Aonew. 'You two go can round the side and break one of them away from the herd.'

[Eldarwen]

"Come on Aonew" Euoke called his brother and he followed behind him, as quietly as he could, trying to be careful.
"Stay here and come out when I do" He told his brother, moving round slightly so he could run behind the chosen deer. It was a fawn. The mother seemed to be struggling with twins, one nudging her for feeding the other deciding to take his first taste of grass. It was the latter that Euoke had picked out. Racing towards it, the deer all lifted their head, they begun to run away from Euoke and sped as they saw Aonew come running out as well.
"Chase him to Myst" Euoke called to his brother, Aonew nodded and he and Euoke pushed the fawn away from the herd. The mother was torn between chasing after them or taking her remaining child to safety, she was frozen to the spot, both her fawns calling in fear for each other and their mother, though of course one was calling for it's mother to help his twin.

[Myst]

Myst burst forth when the fawn bolted in her direction, calling desperately. It veered away when it saw her, but it had no where to go. Myst pounced, sinking her jaws into the deer and pulling it down.

[Eldarwen]

"Well done" Euoke congratulated Myst as he slowed to a stop near both her and the fawn. "Are we taking it back to the dens?" He questioned, ready to take it in case they were.

[Myst]

Myst nodded.
'Yeah, good job both of you too.' She got a grip on one of its limbs ready to drag it.

[Eldarwen]

Euoke simply said nothing as he grabbed another limb and nudged Aonew to remind him to take hold of a third.
They begun to drag the kill back to the lands.
