D: I don't like the idea of Klaymen with eyes and eyebrows.... to me, it's just not Klaymen D: I'd accept it if he had no eyebrows. Then his eyelids could do the facial work.

Why can't he just keep it the same? The original voice acting and character designs i mean. THAT is the real neverhood. I wish i could talk to Doug and BEG HIM to keep at least those things the same D:>

.... -sniff- you know what my biggest fear for the movie is? That the movie wont be in Claymation, but in ANIMATION DDDDDDDDDDDDD:>

They did a really good job with Flushed Away. As much as I WANTED to believe it was claymation, as it had that sort of "feel" to it, I knew there were lots of things they couldn't do that well with clay. Aardman. <3

As for The Neverhood movie, they'll have to make it feel like it could still be clay. Trying to build another full set and puppets like before would end up too expensive and labor intensive, I'm sure. CGI's come a long way. Given that they have the time and money, they could pull it off.

People have tried talking to Doug about the changes. He doesn't take them seriously, from what I've heard. It's his creation, he can do what he wants with it... even if it means possibly ruining it for those who loved it before.

The game is what I enjoyed, once upon a time. I don't think I'll spend much time looking for the movie, if and when it comes about.

Yeah, he mostly gets pissed off at them. In a way, I can sort of understand; when I'm running an RP, I get pretty testy when someone else demands that I do something a certain way. It's like, "Dude, shut up, I'm the one making this here."

However, at the same time, I don't totally ignore what my players say as being crap; I do consider suggestions given to me very carefully, if they're good ones. And I don't think that, "Make something true to its roots" is a bad idea. In fact, it's a very good idea. I think that he's getting a little pressure from the people actually producing the film; at least, I sort of hope that's all it is. It would certainly explain some of his reactions. I don't know about you, but if I had some snooty producers telling me what to do, then fans demanding that I do the complete opposite, I would be feeling pretty angry at both pressuring parties.

"CHANGE IT!"
"DON'T CHANGE IT!"
"%^@# OFF, I'M NOT BEING GIVEN MUCH CHOICE!"

If this really is the case, I'm surprised the dude's head hasn't exploded yet.

I can understand it, too, but that doesn't really give him an excuse to be a jerk about it all the time. It'd be one thing if he didn't have a choice, but I've seen him getting pissy about the smallest things that I get the feeling that it's not so much producers on his back. mellow.gif

I don't condone being a jerk, but it's sometimes nice to consider a little what the person might be going through.

Of course, I don't know what the whole skinny on the movie is, or how they're arranging it, or who's calling the shots on what, etc., so meh. I just know how much stress is involved in small projects. I can't imagine a huge project like a full-length movie.

True enough. As it is, he makes it look like developing so many worlds and creations at his seemingly quick pace is easy.

Yup. Flushed away really didn't feel like it was claymation.

It kinda makes you wonder if they WILL make it pure claymation again. They had to use 3 tons of clay last time to create the Neverhood, imagine how much clay they'll need to make an even bigger set!

I wonder how they'll make the eyebrows on Klaymen: will they use strips of clay/some other bendable substance or will they do the same thing they did with Klaymen's original eyes (carve them into him) I'm hoping Doug will scratch the eyebrow idea (by some miracle), but if not. i'd like to see strips of clay for the eyebrows. Carving them out of his head would make it look like Klaymen has two sets of eyes O_O;

I also wonder if the other original characters will be there. Maybe there'll be a re-appearance of Klogg, who knows? I'd LOVE to see Willie and Hoborg again biggrin.gif They're too great. I wonder if Doug will make Hoborg a comical character in the film... (as in, make him say or do something to make us go: OMG wtf? ROFL!!!!)

I wonder if he'll give Klaymen a 'voice' through-out the movie. SILENT KLAY PLEASE D:

Klaymen has about three voices in the games, and nobody knows who plays him. So voice casting for him would be an arbitrary matter.

I think, however, that Klaymen will talk during the movie - after all, isn't that what the main character usually does?

Not really. Klaymen didn't talk in the game til the end. I think the whole meaningful words oughta stick with Klaymen (cuz everyting he DOES say is deep and meaningful... right?)

WILLIE MUST BE IN DA MOVIE D:< -shotshotshot-

...

Hoborg and Klogg too D:> -shotagain-

The only time I've heard him speak a whole sentence, is when he turns bad (and punches Klogg in the face xDDDD)

This is the reason I clicked this ending twice before I finally picked the good ending. VIOLENCE!! KlayEvil.gif

If everyone else is talkative enough, Klay should be able to hold his own with one-word phrases and facial expressions. Though you know, I think it'd be funniest if he didn't talk much the entire movie, and everyone around him was being an idiot before he could stop it, until near the end. Then he would just let everyone have it with a long, well-articulated speech, and then not talk much again for the rest of the movie.

Kinda like Silent Bob.

I'm not too happy with the full eyes ad the eyebrows. KlayOhno.gif

It just isn't Klaymen. I wish I could say it was, but it just isn't for me. Well, meh.

DUDE! SHEEPKLOGG's GOT MA AVATAR D:< -stabbity slappity!1!!!11-

To be honest, I think the movie will be ruined if the main character isn't the same :\ but, I can't judge too quickly, i mean, I haven't even SEEN the movie, so it would be kinda like racism against eyebrows to think that now D:
