Voice Actors

Let's pretend for a moment that for whatever reason, none of the original voice actors decide to do the film. All... two of them.

Who would you pick to portray these guys? Forget about money or having a budget - take anybody you'd like. And post clips so we know what they sound like.

(This doesn't have to be at all serious and you can suggest people in kind of a 'can you imagine if...' scenario if you want)


For some reason I was thinking along the lines of comedians and my mind doesn't completely flail at the idea of Eddie Izzard being Klogg. He has that kind of... distracted, very-short-attention-span sort of thing. Just imagine him putting on an accent and being cartoony and trying to sound really mean...

And if I think about father figures, my mind immediately jumps to Stephen Fry, so maybe he's do okay as Hoborg... yes, admittedly, you can't get much more English than he is. Just he's a really good actor and he could probably pull off sounding laid-back and somewhat vacant.

Can't think of anybody for Willie because his voice was rather unique and I don't know of anybody who sounds the least bit like that... and it'd be sad to change it completely.

Klaymen, goes without saying that I can't think of anything.

I don't even know who voices Klaymen in the games =/ He barely says anything anyway...

Also, the second video doesn't work.

Well, Willie kinda sounds a bit like Popeye, but that's out of the question, since we can't timewarp to the 30s.

I suppose Doug did Klaymen. Since he did most of the other voices and Klaymen didn't have enough to say to warrant having another person involved...

Well, Doug doesn't sound like any of the characters. It's called acting.

Besides, this is more of a 'what if somebody interpreted the character slightly differently' thing... for the lulz.

Hmmm....


Wow, I can't imagine anyone doing the voices other than who already DOES the voices. XD I'm baaaad at that.

Also, I don't know too many actors in general...

Yeah, only Riff Raff can do that. Then again, if you just jump to the left...

If they could get some of the voice crew from The Simpsons to do it (especially whoever voices Marge's sisters to do Willie, that'd rule) then they'd probably have no problems at all getting good voices.

Also, I would completely be in favor of Eddie Izzard being Klogg.

The actor who played Abe in the Oddworld games would be PERFECT for Willie.

Yeah, I can really see that working. It'd be a different Willie... but yeah, it'd be viable. From what I read, the characters seem kind of similar, too.

...So. I know this topic is well over a year old, but I keep getting better ideas for Klogg voice actors.

Hahaha, Tim Curry does a lot of villains. And he has such gleeee. But I think some of us would die from sex if that happened.

Totally yes. If they didn't use Doug...well...I don't know why I didn't think of this guy. His voice is perfect for it.

(I had never heard him talk much until I saw that clip, because I'd only ever really seen him in Mister Bean.)

MMMMmmm....perhaps some proposals for Ottoborg?...Sorry ^^; I know only Polish actors....but I think that he should not have such a similar voice as Hoborg ^^;

Rowen Atkinson!Klogg would be epic win. He's got the perfect sneaky nasily voice.

Also, Sean Hayes totally has to be Ottoborg. HAS TO BE.

Tony Jay would fit for Hoborg, but he died couple years ago :( I miss him

And I have no idea for Ottoborg. I always imagine him with higher voice than Hoborg, sometimes squeaky and with a runny nose (don't ask). And he speaks fast in my head.

I didn't know who Sean Hayes was until I saw the clip. I know we all think of Ottoborg as the flamboyant gay type but it might be too much. |D (As opposed to Hoborg, the gay type who seems to be on laid-back drugs and denys the existence of women)
