Fuuinjutsu
Fuuinjutsu created by one person cannot be used by another person unless specifically noted in the jutsu.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Genin --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bakuretsufuu (Exploding Seal) The knowledge of the correct way to write an explosive seal, most commonly used to create exploding notes or tags. A proper Exploding Seal takes several minutes to scribe; a working seal can be traced in a few tens of seconds, but will have a small fraction of the power of a full seal. Exploding Seals can be triggered by anybody with the proper training, including nearly all ninja. (Genin) (Chakra Cost: Very Low)
Yakudou Kanchiki Bakudan (Motion Sensor Bomb) A technique for triggering an Exploding Seal that allows the user to set different conditions for the Seal's going off; the default is a time delay. Popular uses include causing the Seal to explode when it is struck or strikes something, or when something moves in its area.(Genin) (Chakra Cost: None)
Keika (Firefly Light) This quick and tag handy seal generally takes about a minute to write. Once it is triggered the lines of the design begin to glow, shedding a soft light. This light illuminates a circle with a radius of about five feet and lasts for an hour before requiring any extra chakra from the user. A Firefly seal can be triggered by anybody capable of activating an Exploding seal. (Genin) (Chakra Cost: Very Low)
Ondanfuu (Warming Seal) A tag seal that creates a heated zone. This area can get uncomfortably hot, but never damaging. Common uses are drying clothes, keeping food warm, and heating small spaces. Ondanfuu require absolutely no special training to activate; most are written onto paper or contained in packets and turned on by ripping a particular part of the paper. (Genin) (Chakra Cost: None)
Setsubifuu (Equipment Seal) The technique allows a ninja to store items within a scroll. After the sealing is complete, the item will become a symbol on the scroll. It will remain sealed until retrieved or until the scroll is destroyed. The sealing takes a minimum of five minutes, regardless of the number of symbols created, and a ninja needs 10 minutes for every 110 pounds of equipment. Items that weigh over 440 pounds cannot be sealed. (Chuunin or Genin with Intelligence as a Strength. Animals may not be sealed in this way. When/if the scroll is destroyed the items will either unseal or be destroyed, this decison is made when making the seal. Sealing takes half the time for Jounin, sealing takes a quarter of the time for S-Rank or Kages) (Chakra Cost: None)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chuunin --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kyoushinfuu (Resonating Seal) This seal is typically placed on a weapon, either as an attached decoration or etched/carved directly into the material. When the weapon strikes an inanimate object, it releases a pulse that sets up vibrations within the object. These vibrations shake the subject from the inside out, weakening it; it normally requires several strikes to completely break an object. Any given Kyoushinfuu may only be activated by those who participated in its creation. (Chuunin) (Chakra Cost: Low)
Bankanfuu (Thought Seal) A complete Bankanfuu must be used within minutes, so standard practice is to write most of one well ahead of time and finish the last symbols as needed. Once this tag seal is complete and active, it is used by placing it upon the forehead. The seal greatly speeds the user's thought processes, effectively condensing up to a minute's worth of thought and planning into a second or two. Overuse of this seal effectively degrades the user's mind, rendering the addict incapable of thinking at 'normal' rates. (Chuunin) (Chakra Cost: Low)
Himei kyuusho (Hidden writing) This technique allows a ninja to create a permanent inscription on an object (or even a person), that will be invisible until specific conditions are met. These can be a specific chemical ingredient, touching the object in the correct manner or using chakra in a specific way. (Ninja information cards are an example of this last version) A ninja who knows this technique can "decode" the writing hidden by other shinobi, as long as he is of higher level and knows of the inscription's existence in the first place. (Chuunin) (Chakra cost: low)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jounin --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gofuu Shridu (Shield Seal) This seal is an impressive tool for the defensive-minded. It requires massive amounts of chakra to activate (40-50% of the average Jounin's total supply) in order to achieve an extremely powerful effect; the sealed paper becomes indestructable for as long as the seal's power holds. The Shield Seal is capable of stopping any attack that touches the paper, although it will greatly speed the seal's failure if the attack is larger than the paper. Advanced users can learn to activate multiple Shields at once or in sequence in order to cover a larger area or reinforce a failing defence; these extra seals require less chakra than the initial seal. The user must still be wary of exhausting himself. (Jounin) (Chakra Cost: High)
Teleptro Fuuin (Transfer Seal) This fuuinjutsu is composed of two tags, each covered in identical seals. The pair of tags has the power to teleport elemental ninjutsu; an attack can be aimed at one tag and exit the other. The power of these seals is not without limits; the two tags must be placed within ten meters of each other, and they can only transport jutsu of jounin rank or lower. Jutsu with too much power will simply destroy the tag, as will almost any aggressive action directed at the paper. (Jounin) (Chakra Cost: Low)
Genjutsu kansei (Genjutsu trap) This technique allows a ninja to put a genjutsu effect on a piece of paper. It can be written between the lines of whatever else is written there. Anyone who tries to read the message will come under the effect of the genjutsu. The technique wears off after about a month and will affect anyone who tries to read the paper during that time. (just seeing the inscription is not enough. It only works if you actually try to read it.) The effects can vary, from comatosis (commonly used on the scrolls during chuunin exams) to various suggestions (the technique is not powerful enough to cause a suicide but can cause the person to destroy the paper or to firmly believe that the information he read was something different). (Jounin) (Chakra cost: medium)
