The Los Angelas Clippers have had a very busy offseason so far. They have made some moves that have shook up the franchise and will have big implications on them as well as the rest of the league. After their dissapointing season last year in which they missed the playoffs, Clippers management has decided to rebuild the team. They have made two huge moves.

Trade # 1:

Elton Brand
Tim Thomas

for

Eddy Curry
Jamal Crawford
Nate Robinson
Bernard Robinson
Hassan Adams
2010 1st
2011 2nd

This Trade may be the biggest of the offseason. Elton Brand who was the heart and sould of the Clippers franchise for many years is headed to the Big Apple. When asked about trading Brand Clippers management had this to say.

"Well it was really hard to see Elton go. He led us to the playoffs for the first time in years. He is a great player and an even better person. I have the utmost respect for Elton and I wish him the best of luck in New York. He will be missed greatly by our orginization. It was in the best intrest of the team to move him though. Good luck In NYC Elton."

In exchange the Clippers received some good young talent. When asked about what he thought of the players he received the Clippers GM replied by saying.

"We got some really good young talent. Eddy Curry has all the makings of a top 3 center for many years to come. He will be a perenial All Star. Jamal will provide us with instant offense off of the bench. He can go off at any moment. Nate has loads of potential. He will provide us with great minutes at the point when Shaun needs a rest. I think that this trade makes us a better team in the long run."

Trade # 2:

Chris Kaman
Sam Cassell

For

Michael Redd
Russell Carter

This trade gave the Clippers a legit #1 option and a dynamic inside out threat, along with the newly acquired Curry, on offense in the. An All Star shooting gurad who is only 28. He is one of the most dynamic scorers in the league.

In return the Clippers had to give up Chris Kaman and Sam Cassell. Kaman, a 25 year old center, and veteran point gurad Sam Cassell.

Clippers GM had the following to say about this blockbuster.

"Giving up Chris and Sam was very tough for us. Chris gave it his all for the team every night. He was a very tough, gritty center for us. Sam was a great locker room guy for us. He shared his knowledge with anybody that would listen. He had a profound impact on Shaun in particular. He made Shaun a better player."

"Like they say though. In order to gain an assest you have to give up assests and boy, did we gain a huge assest. Michael is a top shooting gurad in the league. He can score in so many ways. He is arguably the best shooter in the league. He will be huge for us and I am excited to have him as a member of the Clippers."

So there you have it Clipper faithful, two blockbuster trades that shook up the foundation of your beloved Clippers. Will they pay off? Only time will tell.
