A Faulty Vacation, For lack of a better title...

"Cough, cough." Garou came crawling from out of the smoldering pit. "Geez, we really need to work on that landing." He turned to look back into the pit, where a smoking metal capsule sat. "Guys, I think the time machine's broken! Someone grab the suitcases and throw 'em up to me."
Garou turned around again, taking in the scenery. Primitive trees and plants were dense and flourishing, at least except for the ones that had been crushed by the machine. A roar of an unknown creature carried over the trees.

Raven climbed out of the broken machine carrying a couple suitcases. She groaned, dropping the suitcases and flipping up the collar of her trench coat. "It's too bright." She slipped on a pair of rounded sunglasses (the kind that kind of form around your face) and looked at Garou. "Why are we here again?"

"Because we were bored and needed to do something as a group before we each went our seperate ways for college," Garou said, unzipping his suitcase that Raven had brought up. He pulled out a laptop and turned it on.
"Now let's see... According to my programming, we're in the right era...'cept that malfunction in the time rift took us a few miles away from where we were supposed to land for our campsite. There." He pointed to a mountain peeking over the top of the trees.

"Right..." Raven sighed and looked into the smoking pit. "Come on up, guys. Let's go set up camp and then a couple of us could come back for the time machine. I really hope we dont get stuck in this era." Raven turned back to Garou. "Why couldnt we go to the future? Ya know, us landing here, could alter the time line."

"Raven, Raven, Raven," Garou said. "If I've learned ANYTHING from cartoons, it's that altering the future always...well...um...well, what if the time we're from is only that way BECAUSE of what events transpire here!? We could alter the future by NOT coming here..."

"Garou, Garou, Garou..." Raven sighed. "One, I cant believe you still watch cartoons... and two, we could change the way the present is by coming here which then in turn alters our future. Didnt you read the story where the guy traveled back in time to hunt dinosaurs? He stepped on a butterfly... a butterfly!... and when he came back, everything changed because he stepped off the path and killed a butterfly. Think about it."

A black bag came flying from the time machine, thumping to the ground a few feet from Raven and Garou. "Would you both please shut up? All that argument will get you is a headache." Ashlyn air-walked from the crashed technology, rubbing her forehead where a red welt was forming. "Oh wait..." she frowned "I've already got one." She squinted into the light, silently thanking the lunar cycle that it was closer to a full moon than a new moon. Reaching into the black trench coat she had on, Ashlyn pulled her sunglasses from an inner pocket and deposited them onto her nose, below the brim of her fedora. "So," she stretched, hovering a foot off the ground, "What mess are we in now?"

Raven looked at Ash and watched her routine with the glasses. Then she turned to Garou. "I vote shade... my twin and I would greatly appreciate that." Raven grinned, glancing back at Ash.

"Alright, we just gotta go through the forest there," Garou pointed, "And we'll traverse halfway up that mountain and into a cavern. A dark cavern." Garou packed up his laptop and picked up his bag. "And yes, I have read A Sound of Thunder, and I've seen the movie. We just gotta not mess this up. Watch your step."

Raven picked up her bag and looked around at the ground. "I'd teleport but that could mess things up a bit I would say," she said. "I didnt know A Sound of Thunder was a movie..."

Garou waved his hand around in the air. "It deviated from the short story, of course, but it was a pretty decent movie...Now, ONWARD!!" Garou began marching towards the mountain.

Elsewhere...

Shinato was locked in combat with another Pangean male, a cheiftain to be exact.
"Ec dryd ymm oui kud umt syh?" Shinato laughed dodging one of the cheftains swings, "E'mm rinno ib yht vehecr drec drah."
Shinatos nails extended and he thrust his hand forward. His nails easily peircing the worn and cracking scales of the elder Pangean. Shinato gripped the Cheiftans innards and quickly tore them out, causeing silver blood to spill forth on the ground. The force of the pull caused the cheftain to stagger forward, seeing this opening Shinato kicked the cheftain, sending his off his feet, with just enough force to tear the flesh of his innards apart.

The pangeans around them cheered loudly at Shinato's victory, with their race dying off they need a stronger leader then some old man, and Shinato was the only one that was arrogant enough to openly challenge him. Shinato looked towards the sky to thank the great spirit, when he saw smoke.
"Csuga?" He asked, "Rumt rana, E'mm lralg ed uid yht nadinh fedr y nabund eh y meddma."

Shinato ran to his hut and grabbed his usual Halberd, Shortsword, and a couple spears. He then took off towards the sorce of the smoke, moving a lot slower then his legenary speed but still fast. He lept into a tree once he got on the outskirts of the blast radius form the malfuntion. He took one of the spears that he held with his tail, and hurled it at Garou, it landing a few inches from his right foot. Before anyone could really react he hurled the other two. One peircing Ravens Trench and pinning it to the ground, the other taking off Ashlyns Fedora and pinned it to a tree.

Shinato lept form his hiding spot and hit the ground with thud, trying to make himself seem even bigger. He drew his Shortsword and pointed it at Raven, "Ehdnitanc cdyda ouin hysac, un vaam dra fnydr uv so cdaam!"

Shinato appeared a lot different then the Present day one. He was much more feral looking, his mid-back lenght hair was severely unkempt, two larger fangs stuck out from his lips, towards the back of his muzzle. He was dressed in what seemed to be Dinosaur hide shorts and no shirt, showing off his usual I shaped scar. He had on a Haori made of Hide was well, and it was stained white with the fluids of plants. The nails on his feet where a lot longer then what he'd normally allow them to be, sticking out about a foot in lengh, except one that appeared to be broken shorter. He even appeared younger, about in his late teens instead of late twenties early thirdies. His eyes swept from Raven to Ashlyn then to Garou. Waiting for one to make a wrong move so he could slit their neck.

Ashlyn froze, hoping furiously that her powers wouldn't short circuit. She opened a link to Raven [uh... is that who I think it is? ...and do you understand what he's saying?] She wanted desperately to retrieve her fedora, her sharply pointed ears were poking through her dark hair and the sun was beginning to become uncomfortable.

Raven looked between the sword pointed at her and the pangean that had intruded. "[no idea... do i look like i speak his language?]" Raven responded to Ash. She focused her eyes on the male in front of her. "Do you.. speak English? Probably not, huh..."

Shinato tilted his head slightly, "Fryd tet oui zicd cyo, frana druca ajah funtc?"
Shinato shook his head then turned to Ashlyn, "Oui, fryd ec ouin hysa!"

Garou stood, shocked. He had jumped at the sight of a spear flying at him and now stood scared on one foot.
"He's throwing weapons at us and you ask if he speaks English?" Garou said, finally calming down.

"What the hell am I suppose to ask him?" Raven asked Garou, afraid to turn her head to look at him.

Ashlyn blinked as Shinato turned to her "Oui?... Parle vous française?" she highly doubted that he would understand her, but then it was worth a try.

(this should be interesting... I doubt anyone will be able to figure out what either side is saying... unless Shinato speaks Lua'tir Ashlyn's out of luck.)

Raven looked between Ashlyn and Shinato. After a few glances between the two, she focused her eyes on the pangean. "...Shinato?..." Raven asked, making a connection between this one in front of her and the present day one.

"ruf tu oui ghuf so hysa?" Shinato asked slowly putting his Shortsword away.

Ashlyn felt like hitting her head [bout time you made that connection.] she grumbled to Raven. Deciding to give it one more try Ashlyn looked at Shinato "Ka'Zu'Sepi Lua'tir?"

Shinato tilted his head at Ashlyn, "Fryd?

Ashlyn was beginning to get exasperated, "Ka'Lua'tir?" she tried again.

Shinato scartched his head, "Sa Shinato." Shinato said pointing at himself, "Ka'Zu'Si?" He asked pointing at Ashlyn.
