Kimani watched as the people around her chatted and she noticed one woman with her belly swollen with child, laughing with a nurse that had stopped on her way inside. She smiled to herself. Oh what a joy it'd be to carry a child within me... Sebastian's child. My child.

After a few hours, Krix was released and although she was alert, she remained quiet. Walking past Ace who was waiting for her, she frowned at him and headed for the bathroom.

The doctor who had treated her came outside to meet Ace. "Sir," he said, extending a hand. "She's going to be okay. Just had a bit of a scare... But everything is fine, considering."

"Oh alright," said Ace, looking at the direction of the bathroom. "Is she really pregnant?"

The doctor looked down, fiddling with the pen on his clipboard. "I'm really not supposed to say but she isn't. We performed the tests but nothing. She might need some rest and I prescribed some Xanax. She might be experiencing some anxiety. This and some rest will do her good."

The doctor patted Ace on the shoulder and walked away.

If Ace was a smart guy, he would have looked at the prescription and seen her Kristens entire name. Instead, he stuffed it in his pocket without looking and waited by the restroom door.

After she'd washed her face, Krix trudged back outside and groaned when she saw the white-haired man standing in front of her.

Without hesitating further he asked, "How did you know my name?" He stood in front of her with his arms crossed.

Krix frowned. "What the heck are you talking about? You never told me your name. If you mean Nameless, sure, I'll agree to that." She walked around him, realizing that she'd abandoned Sonia and headed for the exit.

"Wait a minute. When I saved your ass from the lake and I did CPR on you, you called my name ... and it wasn't Nameless." He grabbed her arm gently and pulled her back. "How did you know my name was Ace?"

It was almost as though the air in her body had been knocked out of her. Krix was frozen to the ground, her heart stopped for a moment before banging against her ribs. No. No, Ace is dead. My Ace killed himself in a mental h-- Her jaw dropped as she gaped at the man frowning down at her.

"You son of a--" she reared her hand back and slapped him clear across her face. "Do you think this is a joke?!" she screamed at him. "How dare you? Ace is dead, my Ace killed himself in the mental hospital. You are not Ace! Your name is not Ace. You freaking liar." She shoved at his chest, her tears returning.

Ace grabbed her wrists. "My name is Ace. I know who the hell I am but how did you know me?" He shook her and it joggled a memory in his head.

It was so many years ago. He and his Kristen were having an intense argument. He didn't even remember what it was all about but she was going crazy ... crying and hitting her hands against his chest. He grabbed her wrists the same away, speaking in the same tone, trying to calm her down.

She was hyperventilating, seeing her Ace in front of her--his worried eyes looking down at her, holding her wrists. She begged him to not go back to that home, that they'd take her away from him. But he said he wanted to go back.

But her Ace had black hair, brown eyes. Not snow-white hair and scarlet eyes. Not this man. He was lying, he was taking her Ace's name. Krix shook her head, trying to loosen herself from him. "Stop saying it! Stop using his name. Stop saying it like it's yours!"

Ace finally let go of her, hating that fact she was stirring up his temperment with her erratic behavior. "Whatever," he said, strolling down the hallway. He pushed the double doors with both his hands and strolled out with a slight stomp. "I don't have to convince you of who I am. I know myself. It took me years to figure it out and I'm not letting anyone take that away from me. Not Garrison's ... not my foster family ... not even Kristen."

Krix paused. "Kristen? What's her last name?" She was starting to calm down a little. Why would this stranger want to lie to her? "What is your Kristen's last name?"

"IF you really must know ... it's Heart. Kristen Hearst, the love of my life. Now that I answered you, I'm gone. Don't expect to see me ever again ... I won't even look at you when I pass."

Her heart slammed against her chest, racing. She watched him as he headed out the door and she felt her tongue weigh heavy. Body growing cold and warm at the same time, suddenly her vision blurred, her knees buckling until she fainted right there, the word 'Ace' on her lips.

He didn't even turn back to see what happened. He didn't care anymore. She was in a hospital ... somebody else would handle it. With a quick pace, he disappeared down the street and turned the corner, going home.

Krix woke up sleeping in one of the rooms and she just lay there, tears flowing down her face. She kept thinking about the man who had stood in front of her, who said he was Ace--her Ace. Choking back a sob, Krix blinked back the tears and swallowed hard. She shook her head, "No... It's not true."

A knock on the door interrupted her monologue and Krix wearily dragged her gaze to the white-coated man with a sympathetic look on his face. She turned her eyes away, not noticing that the room was without windows and right beside it was another bed with straps on it. She closed her eyes as the doctor told her she was suffering from anxiety and might have to be admitted.

Knight, Sonia and Ace made their way through the entrance and to the waiting room. He walked to the counter, to the receptionist's desk. "Um, excuse me... Is there a Kristen..." he frowned, not knowing Krix's last name and turned to Sonia.

"I don't know her last name but she had crazy colored hair. She was brought in last night and I've been completely worried about her," said Sonia, biting her lip nervously.

"The receptionist looked up, he have a Kristen with no last name in the Psychiatric Ward but I can only allow two at a time," responded the nurse, handing Sonia the passes.

"Come on Knight," said Sonia, taking his hand. "You stay here and wait till we get back. I want to be the first to clobber you when I get back."

Krix sat by the window, on a cushioned bench with her hands clasped as she looked outside, the sun casting its warm rays on her cool skin. She felt numb to the air blowing from the vents, her face dry and immobile. One day in the psychiatric ward and she was already feeling like she was in a prison cell.

Ace. Her Ace. Was it a dream or a punishment? Should she have begged and demanded for him to be found? Should she have gone with him? Tears couldn't flow down her face, she'd already cried her eyes out all night. The echoes of people screaming, their minds lost down the hallway scared her and she couldn't sleep. Her eyes were sore from staying awake all night. She wished they'd sedate her and let her sleep but the doctor said her condition was not that serious and that she just needed to rest.

Post traumatic stress syndrome, he called it. She was experiencing the trauma of her miscarriage from many years ago. Triggered by a memory, by a name. Ace... She closed her eyes, her shoulders bowed in defeat.

Sonia wasted no time rushing into the room. When she saw her friend, a tear of relief clouded her eye. "KAY," she called, running over to her and hugging her tightly. Then wasted no time with asking questions. "What are you doing here?"

Knight shook his head when he saw Krix sitting with her shoulders bent as if giving up on life, just like some of the people trudging about this dark part of the hospital, their eyes glazed over. He frowned, standing where he was, wondering what could cause a woman to change like this.

Krix couldn't even respond, couldn't even hug her friend. She was so numb and cold, despite Sonia's warm body holding hers or the rays of the sunlight on her face. My baby... Ace... Our baby...

Being sneaky, something he learned to be while at Garrison's, he sneaked passed the secretary, a few nurses and the security guard toward the Psychiatric Ward. Eventually, he came up to the room and stood in the doorway, watching Kristen so unresponsive.

"Kristen, I'm sorry," he finally said, getting another nasty glare from Sonia.

""How'd you get up here?" asked Sonia angrily. "Listen, haven't you done enough damage Ace. Get out of here."

Krix didn't hear anything except her thoughts, her nightmares replaying in her head. Her gaze was steady on the window.

Knight watched everything quietly, wanting to know how this man came to know Krix's full name. Who was he? And was Krix so out of it?

Just then, the doctor came to see Krix's visitors and smiled patiently. "Good afternoon... May I help you all?"

Ace paid no attention to the doctor. He didn't care what they had to say. He'd seen enough of them to last a lifetime. But again, he wasn't going to leave until she heard his apology and she forgave him. For some reason, he needed to hear that from her so he would be in peace.

Despite being told to go away, he walked over to Kristen and tried to grab her attention.

"Kristen, are you listening to me? I'm sorry."

It was just like in the past, anytime he'd done anything to upset Kristen, he'd always feel guilty and apologize until she eventually forgave him.

"Excuse me doctor. Tell this man to go away ... he's making my friend more distraught," said Sonia, pointing to Ace.

Knight stepped forward and grabbed the man's arm, pulling him away from Krix. "You might want to calm down."

The confused physician glanced from the blond woman, to the frantic man and the dark, quiet gentleman. He then frowned in concern, taking a look at the clipboard. "Are you all here to see Kristen Hearst? She refuses to give us more information but her license, we found her wallet and had to id her." He looked up at Sonia. "Are you her relative?"

Head pounding, Krix rose to her feet, the room around her spinning and roaring. She didn't notice the people around her and trudged down the hallway. My baby. I'm sorry for losing her, Ace... I meant to keep her for you. I swear I did.

"Kristen H-H-Hearst ... no it can't be," he said, pulling his arm away from Knight and pulling his hair. "No, this can't be ... you can't be ... my Kristen." Fighting against the urge to have a melt down in the room, he decided to run after her. He stopped her before she could go any further and bent down in front of Krix, taking her hand. This was the moment he dreamed about for years and now, it was happening, unfolding right before his eyes.

"Kristen ... my love, my sweet. It's me - Ace; Ace Equino. Remember me? Please tell me you remember me baby?"

Knight gaped at the man who escaped his grip and rushed down the hall after Krix. He frowned, seeing him kneel down before Krix. "What the...?"

"What is going on here?" asked Sonia, turning back to Knight. "Wait ... oh my gosh ..." Sonia brought her hand to her chest.

The doctor snapped to attention and walked forward when Krix jerked in alertness. She skittered back, her eyes widened as if she was a caged animal approached by a tazer gun. Her heart started racing as she stared at the two men in front of her. "Go away!" she screamed, her fingers started to shake, body trembling.

"Kristen, please," he said softly, reaching for her hand. "I've been away for too long. I don't want to lose you again. Kristen please." Ace fell to his knees.

Knight jumped visibly when Krix screamed. He blinked at the couple in front of them, the doctor trying to keep Ace away. "What is going on?" he said in a hushed voice to Sonia.

Krix jerked her hand back and scurried over to Sonia, hiding behind her. "Sonnie, tell him to leave me alone. I don't know him!" she was already crying openly.

The doctor cleared his throat, reaching for Ace's arm. "Please sir. Refrain from agitating the patient." He was worried. She was reverting back to her trauma. This was not good.

"You heard the doctor. Get out of here," screamed Sonia, waving her crutch at Ace. "Get out before I call the police. And I mean it this time ... where are the security guards? Security ... security." Sonia continued to holler until three of them walked down the hallway. "He's stalking my best friend. Please escort him out of the hospital."

"I'm not doing anything," said Ace struggling against the guards. "Kristen, please, don't you remember. I love you Kristen. I've been looking for you for a long time."
