Kiwi -
Can you suggest any good venues to play? Anything ranging from city cafes and coffee shops that do acoustic music to slightly larger venues (100 seats+)

Hope I can be of some help here.
In Dublin the best bet for a singer songwriter is Whelans, or the Ruby Sessions in Doyles Pub every Tuesday night.
Outside of Dublin I wouldn't be too familiar with but places like the Spirit Store in Dundalk, Dolans warehouse in Limerick or the Lobby in Cork have lots of acoustic nights.
Hope that helps cause we'd love to have mat over here!
OH or just realised you good try getting your hands on the Hot Press yearbook which gives you a who's who of the Irish Music Industry. should be available on their site www.hotpress.com
