"Hello Kal!" chimed one of the friendly store owners. She had no particular interest in being his friend, but she couldn't be completely disconnected form the world. Plus he supplied plenty of the town news for her; events, competitions, and if anyone was sick. However she wasn't in the mood for any news, but instead she just wanted to walk the streets in a care free motion.

Even though it was nearing sunset everyone was still bustling around. There were the chimes of the church bells that could barely be heard of the constant chatter. Two kids were running down the street, one half crying to have their toy back, however their mother stopped them with her scowl. Why didn't she have a mother to scowl at her. Why didn't she have one to help her when she mopped. Like this?
Kal shook her head swiftly. Clenching her fist she made a promise not to be so whiny. After her life wasn't SO bad. In fact it was pretty good; she was the leader of a great and successful team.
Before long the people that had once filled the streets were scooting off to their little homes or huts in the village for dinner. With a blink of an eyes it seemed the sun was already setting on the ghostly deserted street. Although it was slightly creepy that no one was there Kal finally felt a sense of peace. 'I really don't want to go home...' She thought as she pulled her sweater hood over her head.
Fall was approaching soon, no matter how everyone dreaded it just because what follows afterward, and the air was getting chilly. It didn't really matter though. Kal enjoyed autumn the most of all seasons. It was always her favorite. It was just because the weather wasn't too hot, and the planet wasn't covered with white fluff. Instead it was a colorful and elegant season. It reminded her of her colors, green and green. She couldn't help but laugh at her luck of getting of the honor color green. See, if you didn't know this already, Kal lived in the green village. They were obsessed with traditional ways. These ways gave them the power of healing and such a talent was cherished over all. When Kal heard that she would take on the role for healing in her group she was over joyed. It was too good to be true in her mind.
'I really shouldn't be pouting. I mean my life isn't that bad. All because I don't have a mother doesn't mean that I shouldn't be happy. Besides I am lucky I got to meet her. Poor Niki. She was named after our mother, but never was even able to be held by her.' Kal frowned, and turned on the end of the street. 'Maybe I should go home. I don't want to worry poor dad. I don't know how he'd cope if I suddenly disappeared. Ha.'

There the two streets parted. One lead home, and the other lead to freedom. It lead to a very peaceful, and luxurious walk. 'Which one shall I take?'
