Season 3, what's next on Avatar?

As of yet, there isn't that much information on Season 3 available. There's even still a lot of controversy on when the season will begin.

The only fairly viable rumor floating around, from Pooldude over at TV.com, is that the fourth episode will be titled "Sokka's Master". No summary or other titles as of yet, though.

So what do you guys think will be happening in Season 3?

i think that if zuko and iroh don't have a plan, or if zuko has a plan iroh doesn't know about, then zuko will go home with azula and as soon as he sets foot onto fire nation land, azula will have him arrested.

aang will learn to bend metal like toph
we learn how and why iroh got into the spirit world
where zuko's mom is/azulon's death

^I agree that Zuko will probably be arrested. There's no way Azula would want to share power with anyone (except daddy-dearest).

I've always wondered what happened to Iroh. I really hope its answered this season.


Also, Someone HAS to teach Aang Fire-bending, my guess is it will somehow be Iroh (he was captured, right?)

Yeah. I would love to see the Gaang try to break him out of prison to teach Aang firebending.

About the only thing keeping me alive is the hope that Zuko and Iroh secretly formulated a plan during the finale. If Zuko really turned...

I'm not going to think about that. I'm just hoping it will turn out Zuko's really just a spy or something. It'd be awesome if we could see him passing, I don't know, even just simple stuff like maps or even Fire Nation intelligence to the Gaang or the Resistance. (There has to be some kind of Resistance, right?)

i actually had a theory that once she has the chance, azula will overthrow ozai (i put a thread up on ASN about that too! )

as soon as she can, she's going to get rid of him.

The only reason I don't like the idea of Azula getting rid of Zuko is that it seems too predictable, and...well, it's (sort of) happened before. She's gone after Zuko tons of times.

In season 3, I want to see Zuko go on the offensive against her. It seems like he's always trying to defend against her, as he pointed out in the S2 finale--"I'm tired of running. It's time I faced Azula." Of course, he was captured then, so I want to see him outsmart or outfight her. If anything, it'd be a huge indication of how much he's grown and changed.

My thoughts [for the future! XD;]

Iroh: I want to see more about the Order of the White Lotus. Was eluded to in season one, we got a snippet in season two, I'm hoping we get the full deal there and that they are the ones repsoible for breaking Iroh out. With or without the GAang. But I do want Aang to be trained by Iroh, unless they decide to bring Jeong Jeong back... though either guy would be great.

Zuko: Extremely likely that Zuko will get arrested since he still lacks the Avatar when returning home. Not that having Aang will grant him pardon, but it probably would have lighten the sentence a bit. I also really want the Blue Spirit to come back (the ep was such a major Zuko selling point in season one for me) but I know that's unlikely. It'd be nice if Zuko gets a brain and figures out how to work the Fire Nation from the inside.

Sokka: If what you say about that ep title, I think it would be nice to see Sokka's combat skills. We've seen him use his brain plenty of times, but we rarely see him actually fight, mainly because the show is based so much around bending styles. ANd I supposeit's possible that the ep is in reffrence to Sokka's father, hopefully we'll get to see him again too. And maybe learn more about Sokka's and Katara's mom, since we know so little there as well.

Does anyone know if we've got an airdate yet? I keep thinking March, as that's about when it started last year--but some people are even saying July.

I'm hoping March, too, since that's about exactly when basketball season would be over, and I wouldn't have games every Friday night...

An "Air" season you mean? It's been discussed on the LJ comm before, and the speculation of the Air season would be the rebuilding of the four nations, perticularly the Air Temples. The way they have the series set up right now is a pretty standard 3-act structure and a fourth season could be pushing it. I think they should just do an additional movie after S3 is over like a lot of anime do. XD

The new episode title, which looks to be the third episode of S3, is "The Painted Lady."

...which makes me think "Suki".
