Welcome to The Langrove Academy of Magical Instruction!

Long ago, in a time before our grandparents and great grandparents, a great nation was founded on the ideals of freedom and equality. No one held these ideals in more regards than the hundreds of immigrated witches and wizards that had escaped persecution at the hands of those they trusted. They lived secretly, teaching their children the ways of the wand, hoping to be accepted as they formed towns and burrows that would hide and protect them from those that would harm them and their families.

Salem was one such town until it became overrun with muggles and a vengeful Squib began what was later called the Salem Witch Hunts. The witches and wizards went into hiding again, hoping for the day when they could teach their children the ways of magic out in the open, be at one with the world and at peace with the muggles around them. In 1864, at the time before the Civil War had ended, the most powerful of the Witches and Wizards left in America created the Salem Institute in order to teach the new generation what wonders they could achieve through the use of magic.

Over the years the Salem Institute grew and flourished, but as the United States expanded and grew larger and larger, it became abundantly clear that a new school would have to be created. With the Salem Institute nearly full to bursting, the most powerful witches and wizards of the new generations created the Langrove Academy of Magical Instruction. Its central location and large campus ensured that for years to come it could satisfy the demands of the coming generations. The Salem Institute still stands today and has been transformed from an ordinary wizarding school into a wizarding college, and only accepts the most talented of the Landgrove graduates.

At the time when Lord Voldemort was terrorizing England and the European neighbors the American community did not go unaffected. Death Eaters caused quite a bit of trouble for the magical government as well as the families scattered across the United States. Though after the Dark Lords demise the Death Eaters were arrested and tried, rumors began flying about the dark times not being quite over. That another storm was brewing to fill the void that was left by Voldemort.

Today the Langrove Academy can boast over five hundred students with the highest Curriculum standards in the world. The children not only learn magic but how to survive in the muggle world by teaching them muggle subjects and employing a few muggle teachers on campus. Though rumors abound about dark magic and a new danger, students seem oblivious as they go about their lives, making friends and enemies, getting the grades and moving on with their lives

This is the next generation of magic, this is where it either begins or ends, this is the Langrove Academy of Magical Instruction.

Star Lake
A large lake to the right of large school, there are boats for rowing and the water is usually a good temperature to swim in and when the winter time comes and the lake freezes over the ice is thick enough to skate on!

Lush, beautiful flowers are planted in pots and plots around this gorgeous walkway and lawn. Tables and chairs sit here along with benches and a few swings. Rumor has it that there's a maze here...

Cobblestones line the walkways and a few trees dot the landscape here and there while flowers sit in the garden plots. Tables and chairs are located near the entrance while gazebo's sit closer towards the entrance to the grounds.

The Grand Entrance
A towering stone roof rises many stories overhead with a gothic arch at the peak. Giant windows let light flood in from all directions while the openess of the architecture allows the "outside in".

Main Hall
Where the students eat, drink and be merry. Houses sit at their respective tables and try to cause trouble for other houses, it makes for interesting digestion.

First Library
This vast room is filled with tall windows and fluffy chairs for reading, or for taking a nap. There are tables and chairs everywhere among the tall shelves of books and people are able to talk freely here, without fear of being told to shush.

The Blue Room
Much like the common Study Room and the First Library, the Lounge is a place for students to come and mingle and make friends. Food and drink are plentiful here along with all sorts of books and games, there's even a radio so that students can listen to Quidditch matches or the news, whatever strikes their fancy at the time.

The Kitchen
Filled with great smells and the pitter patter of tiny feet as the House Elves of Langrove create delicious meals for the students they love so much. Once in awhile you can see a student cooking for the House Elves! It's a strange site indeed, but you might get lucky!

Astronomy Tower
Come gaze at the stars. This is a popular place among the more romantic students since it has a wide balcony off once side and several windows all around the large circular room. Come here to stargaze or to meet someone new...there's hardly ever a time when you're by yourself.

It keeps all of Port Charleston up to speed and with the rest of the world, it's long, low bells toll the hour on the hour and have been for the last several hundred years. There's a door to access this impressive structure and you can see the entire town from up there.

Jack's Joke Emporium
The owner's name isn't really Jack, it's Harold, but Jack sounded better when the business was starting. What they don't lie about is the fact that they are a HUGE hit with the local school children, they sell products made right here in the USA with a special section of "International Goods" If you want a good laugh while you shop, this is the place to come!
