Since I've been a member since about 1986 I figured I'd see who everyone thinks is or was the best darter from LEDA. I'll give a few examples and forgive me if I left anyone out. I'll give my reasons if you disagree.
1. Mario B. probably the best east side darter we had. Top 4 in Cleveland since I've been around 2. Todd L. Very tough. His team wins div 1 just about every half (for probably 10 years now) Also used to perform well in all touneys 3. Gary H. When I started he was the one to beat in trails when we had 30 people there every mon and fri. 4.Karl R. when he was good he was great! could beat anyone at anytime (also league pres for years) 5. Clyde H. Moved here from Alabama (I think) early 90's or late 80's. Took us all by storm. Others: Bullseye Joe M. Best 19 shooter ever! and bullseyes of course! Brian P. probably tops now but I'm looking overall Denny R. another great shot from the 80's Timmy P. because I know he checks out this forum!! Hope this gets this board going again. I'm tired of checking for new posts and not finding anything! |

I have entered the league mentions and scoresheets for 7 years now - I have played in doubles and triples tournaments with you - while I agree with the Top People that you have listed - I think that you forgot to put yourself on that list!!!

Thanks for the compliment!! I did forget to mention Kevin M. Probably because he didn't play against us last week! He's another guy who can beat anyone.

Your post makes me feel young. It's like when that old guy says Jim Brown is the best running back ever. I never saw Jim Brown play. Kind of like I don't know who half the guys are that you mentioned. Excuse my ignorance.
Plum is the best I've played against in LEDA personally. I'd rather not get into ranking any others. It may tick off some and I still have to play them. There are quite a few really good shots right now. I wasn't around for the "Glory Days of LEDA". |

I can't argue most of those, Mike, but I would also agree with Eugene for adding Kevin to the list. When I started he was practically unbeatable, even when you were on fire, he would pull a 157 out or a 9-count like it was nothing. Another name would be Milan S. He was another very, very good shot.

I may be way off here, but I know my first match in D1 was against Fuzzy, who matched my 2 opening 5 counts with 2 9 counts, and from what I hear he had already lost some of his game by then. Maybe not THE best but should be in the conversation I think.

I agree with you Tony. I just don't think he played on the east side often enough. Great person as well as darter.
