Hi all,

just thought this might be of interest to you. Bif Bang Pow has picked up the LOST licence and there's going to be action figures and bobble heads!

First up is a Ben bobble head (SDCC exclusive), and apparently there's going to be two-packs with Jack and Kate and Sawyer and Juliet. Entertainment Earth has them up for pre-order, scheduled for November. And it states they're 7 inch, which would place them in about the same scale as the McFarlane series.

To be honest, I thought the likeness on Ben was pretty weak. And I know their other work, the figures from Big Lebowski are fun but highly stylized, cartoony. The upcoming Dexter figure looks a little more realistic, but it's still a very basic and soft sculpt. The detail will be nothing like the McFarlane figures, but they will have articulation and accessories.

I'm excited to see how the figures turn out, hope they'll show more at Comic Con!

Regards,
Grumble

I've actually never heard of this company. I wonder how these will turn out. Clay better get on the ball, cos this could be the final nail in the waiting game coffin. wink.gif I'd much rather have 4+ figures for my $100.

Never been big on the bobble heads myself.

Sounds good... and I guess this could be my first and last bubble-head-figure^^

I hope, I'll be able to get them in germany, if not, I'll still need Clay ;-) But after such a long time of waiting I'll stay in for this line. This figures will be unique... and who knows how long this official ones will take.

I have asked a couple friends from the USA that are gonna attend the San Diego Comic Con to try to get me a Benjamin Linus bobblehead.
They are limited to 1008 and this exclusive can only be bought there at the Comic Con so I guess it wonīt be easy to get one, but I hope at least one of them can.

The likeness isnīt perfect, I know, itīs cartoony, but I like it, itīs funny laugh.gif

Btw, Iīm not sure but I think he managed to get 2. So let me know if anybody wants one and I will let him know! They are limited to only 1000 I think.

EDIT: Okay, someone already contacted me for the extra Ben smile.gif

Karen, did you hear if they were showing some of the figures as well? So far, I haven't seen any pictures. Although to be fair, I think there aren't ANY pictures from the BifBangPow booth yet, only the product shown at the Entertainment Earth booth?

Anyway, any word on the figs???

No news from SDCC regarding the figures, or well... I havenīt seen any pics and, on the email I received from Entertainment Earth yesterday, they announced the figures but there were no pics, it said: coming soon, or something like that.

Maybe this weekend...? they are supposed to be released in November so they should show pics 3 or 4 months before, right? Iīd say showing them at the SDCC would make sense.

PICS OF JACK AND SAWYER!!!

Jack and Sawyer in the Dharma jumpsuits plus Sawyer in regular clothes.

The one who fell down should be Jack in regular clothes (it looks like he finally jumped off the bridge, laugh.gif )

More pics from other sources here:

(Sawyer is scary blink.gif and those are the prototypes, which are supposed to look better than the actual figures that will be sold... Jack is a bit less scary, imo, lol )

Btw, is the jumpsuit made of actual clothes instead of clay? thatīs cool

And OMG, please, forgive me but the way the hands are sculpted are... well, letīs just say they are kinda weird and a lot of crazy thoughts cross my mind... tongue.gif

OMG blink.gif I'm so gutted, these look absolutely rubbish angry.gif They don't look anything like the characters, Sawyer looks particularly naff and Jack while looking nothing facially like Matthew Fox has a full thick head of dark brown hair dry.gif Why have moulded clothes for the island outfits and real cloth for the Dharma ones ? If these are the prototypes then the actual items will look even worse. They look more like those terrible dated 1970s figures by Mego, those horrible 'Dukes of Hazzard' ones spring to mind. Look closely and those Daharma boiler suits are just pulled over the standard plastic clothes of the Island fiures. Sadly these arn't a patch on the Mcfarlane figures or those being done by our man on this forum.

2 marks out of 10 - I wont be buying this pile of crap !!

Now then, no need to be this upset. This is what happens when expectations are too high.

I had checked out the other figures from BifBangPow, so I knew that hyper-realism was not their main concern.

There are a lot of bad things to be said about these figures, the body sculpts are very simple and the Sawyer likeness just isn't there. The remark that these prototypes should be better than the final figures is not always true. From their Twitter posts, it appeared that they were rushing to show these at SDCC so there may be more work to be done. The glossy paintjobs were obviously rushed, so we have to look past that.

The main redeeming point for me is the Jack likeness (hope this direct link works):

user posted image

Let's face it, the McFarlane likeness was bad, and made worse by an atrocious paintjob. Then there was the Medicom 12" figure, which also missed the mark. I thought this one was actually instantly recognizeable as Matthew Fox.

I also like the idea of the cloth jumpsuits. They are probably included as an accessory, which is why they fit over the regular sclupted clothes. Makes sense to me. You have the choice how to display them, if you don't like the jumpsuit, you can throw it aside. They did a nice job making them fit, and the good thing about jumpsuits is that they are allowed to be baggy. The detail with the Dharma logo and the name is nicely done.

So, I am mildly excited about these and I will be interested to see further progress and the sculpts on the ladies.

Jeez, what is your problem!?

Unlike McFarlane these are action figures. There are differences in the styles of the two products; I knew that from the get-go. I'd like to hear your opinion on the Kubricks line! laugh.gif Spare us all and just go try and pose your McFarlane collection.

Thank you guys for the pictures. I can't wait to add them to my collection!

Sorry, I got the impression you were a child from that review. There is a difference between stating an opinion and bashing on bias. Ranting posts like that don't bring anything to the discussion, so just don't buy the figures and get back to supporting Clay. An no, your "opinion" is far from worth saluting.

I think these are actually fantastic! The likeness on Sawyer especially is off, but I think that Jack looks great – they are a lot better looking than I thought they would be. They look like great toys – not really a match for the McF figures, but those are really plastic statues… Can’t wait to see the Juliet and Kate figures - I’ll definitely be getting these!

Don't apologize, I've got three nephews and a niece all under the age of six, I'm getting quite used to behavior like yours wink.gif And it wasn't a review it was an opinion.
As an adult the Mcfarlane collection of figurines are more my stlye, but of course these new toys seem more up your alley as you obviously have plans to pose and play with them.

Please guys, letīs talk without fighting, everyone is entitled to their opinions and all the feedback is accepted, both positive and negative.

The figures arenīt 100% realistic, thatīs for sure, but the figures from that company are usually cartoonish and as someone pointed out, they are actual action figures you can pose, not like the McFarlane ones, and some people prefer it that way.

Now, even though the likeness is a bit off, specially on Sawyer, I didnīt expect anything better either so Iīm not too disappointed. And anyway, I know I will be buying them no matter what, at least James and Juliet (no interest in Kate so I will have to wait and see how Jack looks).

And I agree the paintjob is totally crappy so I guess the reason is what you pointed out, that they wanted to have it ready for SDCC and they hurry it.

I also like the "real" jumpsuits, I think itīs cool they arenīt plastic smile.gif

The jumpsuits are great, pity they don't have material clothing for the entire line. I will stand corrected on the paint job, Jack will almost certainly look much better with a matt finish.
