Hello hello,

It's me, Athildur, from the NaNo forums.

First of all, a big hug and welcome to all members who have joined this club and have taken the time to register.

As for introductions, I'll go first.

My nick is Athildur, the same as it is on NaNo.
My first name is Giel-Jan, which you may shorten to Giel if u wish. I'm an18 year old guy, living in the nothern bit of the Netherlands.
I'm gay, and still in the proverbial closet. (count yourselves lucky to be one of the first to know tongue.gif) Not having any trouble with it at all, but hey, I'm talking about me here, so I'll decide what's important tongue.gif.
This is my first time doing NaNo, and I'm quite excited! My plan is to write a YA Fantasy story, though there are some details left to sort out.

My favorite genres for reading and writing must be fantasy, and just a little of SF or fiction. All time favorite has to be fantasy, and I have to admit I've never really read anything else.

Obviously, I have hobbies beside reading and writing. I play a good game of Magic, do some Warhammer (40k and fantasy), am slightly addicted to Guild Wars, and some other games.
I like RP-ing very much, but beside all the 'geeky' stuff I also like to draw. I'm not all that good at it, but I'm trying, and because I don't have much time there is only a little improvement, if there is any at all.

I also like to learn some languages that I've taken interest in, like Japanese, Gaelic (scottish and celtic) and maybe sometimes a bit of some other language.

My writing history isnt all that much. I've been writing for about 4 to 6 years now, but I haven't really kept count, so more specific than that won't be possible.
I've mainly written fantasy...ok, except for one short story, which is on a waiting list for possible publishing (happy.gif), they're all fantasy ones. General remarks have always been that the story in itself isn't all that good, but shows that I do have it in me to write it. For me, that's been a good boost of encouragement.

Well, that's it for now. If you'd like to know anything else, don't hesitate to ask. (And if it's too rude, I'll just ban you xP. Just kidding)

P.S.: Any sentence in which a tongue.gif or xP can be seen shouldn't be taken too seriously. I never mean to offend anyone or anything, it's just that at some times, expecially late at night, I get a bit funny and my sense of humor and those times isn't always all that great. Thanks for understanding happy.gif.

Hello, I'm TamerTerra from the NaNo forums. I'm a bi gal from the South West of England, and my novel contains superfluous GBLT characters just because I can.

welcome, strange girl! You sound like a fun person happy.gif.

And I always write my MCs so that I wont fall in love with them tongue.gif.
Writing convincing straight characters...well, I've never been told my characters act gay when they're not, so I suppose that's not too bad...

Welcome, Garlyle!

You're going to have to explain the boyfriend situation sometime, though tongue.gif. I need all the life-experience stories I can get so I can hook me up with one (or one and a half wink.gif) of my own tongue.gif.

Anyway, have fun on the boards here, Garlyle! I hope there'll be many, many more to come.

Hey y'all.

I'm a male flight attendant in San Francisco, so don't be shocked to learn I am gay. This is my first NaNo, I'm excited about my story idea and can't wait for November. Kind of a gay guy chick lit travelogue romance, main guy falls in love with a straight guy, romantic misadventures ensue. (Not really the type of genre I see a lot of in this forum so far, but there it is.) I'm already obsesed with the straight-but-curious love interest, and it will be hard to kill him off.

I've only got the one boyfriend, contrary to the boy-in-every-port myths about flight attendants as Air Mattresses. My boy-in-every-port days were a blast, but I'm all married up now. cool.gif

Only 50,000 words to go!

I am a student, bisexual and proud... Though more often than not I prefer women. I'm single and happy that way (I'm sure that's what they all say rolleyes.gif) . I've got one foot out of the closet and it's only taken me the past eleven years to get there. ninja.gif

I'm a NaNoWriMo virgin and am not exactly sure what I'm going to write about. Most likely it will involve a relationship between people of the same sex that will end up having sex by the end of it all... But beyond that I'm stuck. I have a feeling that November first will be an interesting day. One during which I will be getting very little sleep. biggrin.gif

... Yea I do the same thing. unsure.gif And I end up writing alot of continuations for stories I meant to be extremely short. But that's basically me, wrapped in a tidy package and topped with a blue, purple and pink bow. biggrin.gif Oh and I have an extreme love of smilies.

Welcome, mr. stewardess and ace-of-wands!

mr. stewardess, sounds like a great story to me ^-^.

ace, sounds just as good.

As far as this forum goes, there's not alot on it because there's not a lot of people on it. Hopefully, the forum will become more crowded as nano approaches so that it'll be of good use to us.

Thanks for joining! happy.gif

Hello All,

This is what I wrote on the nanowrimo forums.

I'm Nicole. 22 year old lipstick lesbian from Mid-Michigan. Yep, out in the midwest. Been in a relationship for about five years with the same wonderful woman. High school sweetheart, I know it's sickening.

I'm writing a romance story featuring a woman who thought she was straight and her lesbian friend who she falls in love with. Her lesbian friend (who is in a relationship) thinks the girl is just confusing friendship for something more. Anyway the main plot for the story is the MC trying to win her friend over.

It's not that original, but I'm trying. It's like lesbian chick lit. Which is sort of sad, because I swore I didn't like to chick lit.

Hello!

I'm a mostly lesbian highschool senior from Florida. Haven't really decided what I'm going to write for NaNo yet, but I can feel a theme inching up on me and am sure that the pieces will fall into place before November.

The forum looks nice, going by what I've glanced at so far, and I look forward to getting to know the place better. biggrin.gif

So many new people! Hey everyone~!

Mr. Stewardess: Is it weird that I found your little blurb here cute? =3 And yeah, that's a fun story to write! happy.gif

ace-of-wands: Well, that's what I'm here to support you for happy.gif And if you go in blind for November 1st, you'll have a comerade in arms here!

(By the way, I've almost quite literally fallen for one of my main characters... @_@ I've stolen his name, 'Garlyle'; an alternate incarnation was the main character of my last NaNovel, and even if he's underage he's just so cuddly-cute-sweet that even if it is ridiculous for a boy to act so, I still love him to pieces...)

cutegirl: Hey, that's so sweet =3 One of my best friends is currently living with her highschool sweetheart now, after being together for... 2-3 years, I think it is! Go you~!

osunale: Nice to meet you =3

Hi there,

I'm Jen. *waves*

This will be my second attempt at Wrimo and I have no idea what I'm going to write about. My wife thinks I'm crazy, 50K in 1 month, but that is why she loves me. She's really great, but I won't ramble on about my girl - well, at least not just yet. My screen name at the Wrimo site is Jennifer I. so feel free to say hello there. I'll do my best to stop by and get some inspiration and support here. Nice to meet y'all.

I still feel old...

Here's what I wrote on the NaNo boards, where I go by the nick, eclectic.

Cyd. 49 year-old female-born butch dyke in the Pacific Northwest. Extra points to anyone who knows the name of the movie from whence this next line comes... "And I'm Black."

This is my third year doing NaNo, and my first year writing sci-fi. I've given up trying to write anything that doesn't have same-sex relationships in it. I just can't seem to do it. But hey, write what you know, right...?

Hi, I'm Jarsto, which is also my name on the NaNo forums and my real first name. I'm a 23 year old gay guy and like Athildur I'm from the Northern part of the Netherlands.

I write mainly sci-fi & fantasy, though I have some thoughts about branching out into other genres as well (some mystery ideas for starters). I generally find some queer characters sneaking into my novels, whether I'd planned them or no.

As for NaNo 2006 I've already had a Lesbian couple pop up with a sub-plot in tow, and there may be more to come.

Welcome, Jarsto! Nice to see you here as well ^^.

This place is filling up nicely ^-^.

I hope many more will join, and hopefully some of us will come back to check here even after NaNo.

I'll be sure to maintain this forum for as long as I can, so every NaNo you can return here to share and be merry biggrin.gif.

Hello, all!

I'm Bill, a GWM in western Maryland, USA. I found this site through the LGBT forum on the NaNoWriMo site. My NaNo novel is a black humor/horror story about 2 gay serial killers in love. I'm partly inspired by a play by Nicky Silver called Fat Men In Skirts, which is a dark comedy about serial killing, cannibalism, and incest.

This is my first NaNo, but not my first novel. I have a completed crime/fantasy novel that I'm trying to get published. That one has a few gays in the background, but no gay MC's. The novel is set during the US Prohibition era, and is one part murder mystery, one part ghost story, mixed liberally with witches, prophetic nightmares, hookers, gypsy curses, and drive-by shootings.

Besides reading and writing, I like theater and all kinds of art. I draw and paint, but not very well. I belonged to a good RPG group in Florida before I moved, but won't likely find another here for awhile. NaNo and unpacking will keep me busy for a while. I like to travel and explore new places, either by car or on foot. Hope to do some more of that soon.

Athildur/Giel - Thanks again for posting links to the site. It looks great.

Good to meet everone!

Bill
