Hi Guys, This is my first post here but i've read through heaps of the threads and all have been of great help to me and my attempt at the standard challenge. I'm on number 40 (catching a 10lb+ common carp at wellfield).

I've been on it for over a week and thats having a line in the water for over 12 hours a day. I've caught loads of 8 and 9 pounders and missed three 10+'ers. Butterbeans are the only bait i can catch over 6 lb on and i can't get a bite on any big boilies.

ANyone have a clue of which bait might help me here?

Thanks in advance,

Linc

I Finally did it! 12 days into the challenge and i landed my 10 lb 8 oz carp by sticking to what was working as you guys suggested, i tried all the baits mentioned above and more but ended up catching on 3 pieces of butterbeans on a size 12 hook under the trees on peg two. Now to catch a rudd on a fly... Have never done that before... But will definitely give it my best shot.

Cheers
