What is the difference (on fishsim) between barbed and barbless hooks? Is one better than the other for different things?

Hi Barbels,
In the simulated world I don't think it makes any difference. I lose an equal amount of fish using either LOL!

hiya barbels
i think it make alot of different - cuz anytime i use a barbless hook i will lost alot of fish (more fight of the fish = more jump of the hook) - try snipe lakes nr. 1/adies peg with a 10er bearbless hook and you will see what i mean (that venue i fish only with a treble hook :) ) - usually i dont use barbless hooks - i think the only one to answer that is jase - but if there is a choise to use that hooks, it should have a reason - have a nice day

Hi,
I didn't notice any difference (yet), because I'm quite new to fishsim.
Manual states this:

"Fishing with barbed hooks is allowed in FS, as we're only catching virtual fish, but the disadvantage to it, is that there is a
slightly higher risk of not hooking a fish on a barbed hook, than a barbless one. The benefit to using barbed hooks however, is
that fish find it a lot harder to free themselves from the hook when being reeled in."

Happy fishing!

I have noticed a diference when fishing for certain small fish that you can catch them on a barbless hook but you try the same size barbed hook and you just cant catch them so i personaly think there is a difference
