Yami walked across the pebbled covered shore, her bare feet sinking into the cool sand. Her long black hair trailed behind her in the breeze along with her dress as she stared into the vast seascape. She should have never cut through an unframiliar place, she thought to herself. Yami was lost. And though the scenery was lovely, she was worried about what she would do when night fell.
Continuing at a normal pace, a figure came into view at a distance. It looked like a person...hopefully a human. She had heard of the many different "species" here, and felt somehow singled out by being a simple human. Approaching the boy, Yami didn't see anything visible relating him to a monster. She stood in the sand beside him, gazing as he threw stone after stone into the water. Yami glanced as they hit the water, skipping away. He didn't seem to say anything right away. Yami cleared her throat and mustered up the courage to say something; Anything. She hadn't seen someone who wasn't trying to bite her or make her dinner in awhile. She should at least try to ask for help in a normal way...whatever normal was...
"Um...Hello. I don't know you, but I'm a bit lost....I'm wondering if, um, you could help me find the nearest village? For some place to stay, I mean." Yami forced a smile as an attempt to seem friendly. She absolutely hated extroverting herself to strangers. Her heart was pounding in her chest. Who knew what kind of a maniac this guy could be; and all she had to defend herself was the dagger in her garder belt.
