Alright here's the thing. JCarter426 took the origional Call of Aid mod and figured out how it works. Then he edited it with a few things. But I got inpatient and wanted to edit the thing for myself. Which is why he made a tutorial. All the needed files are in the zip file. Except KotOR Tool and the DLG Editor, those you will have to download. So without any other time taking talk, I present on behalf of JCarter426: 'Spawner + Tutorial'

http://www.filesavr.com/spawner

TPIOM EDIT: Added JC's updated version, since the original link were not working.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Download Call of Aid for TSL, newest version.

2. Install it by running the TSL patcher.

3. Move my files (the .dlg, the .ncs, and the .utcs) to your K2 Override folder. Allow it to rewrite the files.

4. Open up K2, and get the Call of Aid armband. You can make it at a workbench or use the cheat code "giveitem call_of_aid"

5. Equip it and activate it by clicking the icon or hitting 6 on your keyboard.

6. Spawn in whoever you like.

A tutorial is included if you want to try to add more, though you'll need a smigen of modding experience since I was too lazy to explain everything. tongue.gif

And I intend to add more NPCs to the list... I just haven't found the time yet. And I will be doing it for K1... once I need it for K1. tongue.gif

That's why people can now edit it so they have their own list of callable NPC's.

Alright, I tried this and it actually works, unlike most of JC's other theories.

Hahahah laugh.gif

Anyway, haven't tried it yet. I don't even have the original Call Of Aid mod installed yet. But, I'll get around to it eventually...

What exactly is Call of Aid?

When I know, I'll work on it while I'm waiting for my afternoon class to start.

It's an armband that lets you spawn various NPCs to follow you around, Republic soldiers and Jedi for light siders, Dark Jedi and Sith for dark siders, and Mandalorians for anyone in between.

I just hacked the mod and added additional NPCs to spawn, that way I don't have to edit the spells.2da; instead I can just use what's already there.

It helps you defeat enemy's or just plain follow you around.

Carter use's it to spawn certain NPC's he needs for his movie. I should know, he told me. wink.gif

I'm planing on using this too...

I mostly use it to bring extra party members with me. For instance, in the second preview for LOTJ, I have five party members - I brought Mira and T3 to Goto's yacht, and then spawned Atton, Handmaiden, and Bao-Dur NPCs.

And if you change the faction of the NPC in the .utc, you can spawn enemies instead of allies. Pretty useful since you can change the enemy's difficulty and all that as well. Expect to see a few fights in my films that aren't normally in the game.

So far I have spawned...

*Kreia, Atton, Handmaiden (two versions), and Bao-Dur
*Sion
*A Twi'lek so I could kill him
*Akkere, Dillan, Jorran, and Suulru (the recruits on Dantooine)
*HK-50s, both friendly and hostile
*Mandalorians to fight... the plain Call of Aid mod lets you spawn Mandie allies as well

And that's all I can remember at the moment.

If it doesn't work just recheck everything. With this kind of thing you can make a lot of small though fatal mistakes. I had the same this afternoon. But after rechecking I was finally able to spawn T3:

[T3-M4, the droid of 1001 funtions, has arrived to aid you]

I'll edit my first post to add a list of instructions... you weren't the only one with some problems.

I've followed all instructions, but when I activate the armband the Kotor computer screen show nothing. Maybe the mod doesn't work with the Spanish version... unsure.gif
