The sparring room is a virtual reality training room that allows you to fight other characters to hone your skills. Players can either spar in teams or in a free for all. However, the room can hold a maximum of five people. Uneven team numbers are allowed, however only a maxiumum of two teams can spar otherwise the room's computer system is likely to overload.
Because this room uses virtual reality technology, players can decide the location and its conditions. This has to be organised before the fight can commence. The location must specify terrain, lighting, time of day, whether the location is indoors or outdoors and if there are any special location conditions.
Special location conditions affect who can and can't fight. For example, a fight taking place in mid air above the city streets which would cause the special conditions to be in mid air. This means that players can only spar if they have the ability of flight.
The default setting for the location is set to a bare, white room with no walls. Players can fight in this location by requesting the default location.
Before sparring can commence, the characters involved must be organised. This can be by issuing a challenge to a player you want to spar with through a private message or arriving in the room and scheduling a sparring session, stating how many players you want and whether there are teams or not. When players have replied to the sparring schedule, players may then decide on a location by offering suggestions. A location is selected when the majority of the players decide upon the one location and its specifics. If the votes are at a deadlock, the virtual reality system will pick a random location from the ones suggested by players.
Here are some basic rules and regulations to follow when sparring:
If you send a challenge to a player and they decline, don't issue a new one for atleast a week otherwise the player may become annoyed.
Players are not allowed to spar if they are currently on a mission.
If a player in a sparring session reaches 0 HP, they are removed from the virtual reality sparring program.
If a player continues to run away through flight or running, they will be removed from the sparring program.
Items are not to be used when sparring as the provide an unfair advantage.
Players can only use equipment that they already own and can not request other ones from the virtual reality computer.
XP WILL NOT be awarded when sparring. This is just a chance to hone your skills and develop some tactics.
Hope you enjoy the new facilities.
