No Ultraseal seals hole, stays as a liquid within tyre, continues to seal other punctures for the life time of the tyre, helps extend tyre life & you don't have to wait until you get a puncture to use it. And Ultraseal is a permanent tyre repair product, not a get you home product. See link in other post (Bad Morning) about Ultraseal. Holts Tyre Weld An essential keep in the boot item. Holts Tyre Weld is the Get You Home Puncture Repair ! Officially approved by The National Tyre Distributors Association. Holts Tyre Weld seals and inflates flat tyres instantly. Lets face it no one wants a puncture but sods law dictates, you get one when it's raining or late at night or when you are already running late. Why change your tyre for £80-£120 when you could spend £7 on a can of this stuff and stick it in your bike? Ever ridden fast with an un-balanced front wheel ? Try riding with tyre gunk sealing stuff in a hyperbike at continuous speeds above 120mph when it gets out of whack. You won't be finding Busa/Blackbird/ZZR owners using it, what you are better off getting, is the plug and CO2 canister get you home kits. Tyre fitting places also hate the mess it makes, when you change tyres -------------------- Full time Electrician, part time bike mechanic |

This stuff is great to get you home but remember that really is all it is,a get you home repair kit
Just think about it,if you have a puncture you really want to know about it so after the initial moan, sulking cursing about the nail you have picked up,you put this stuff in and ride home STEADY Now say you leave this stuff in a few weeks and get another punture without realizing,by now you will be riding further and faster without thinking about this stuff in the tyre,i hope you can see where i am going with this So yes use this stuff to get you home but it would not be in any of my bikes for more than the ride home Remember your tyres have to deal with huge temp variations and distort in shape/profile going over manholes ,cats eyes, even the kerb at 10mph when you ride your bike onto the drive.Think about it and i am pretty sure that the price of a tyre makes more sense than riding around on any modern superbike that may have a couple of punctures and this stuff inside the tyre Oh and yes,i do hate this crap all over my £1500+ tyre machine, but then again,i am not best pleased when i have had to go and pick bikes up when people have fell of for no reason other than a so called speed wobble, one i remember well a few years ago i had to go out and pick a bike up after he had fell off after he said it just started to wobble, were it had come in the ditch it had broke the wheel and guess what was dripping out of the tyre SCRAPE TBR Motorcycles |

Question for Andy
Are you on about ULTRASEAL or TYRE WELD ?????? ULTRASEAL is a tested & approved PERMANENT TYRE REPAIR (see link in "Bad Morning") & is water based so does not leave messy gunk behind for tyre fitters to clean out. TYREWELD is a GET YOU HOME EMERGENCY TYRE REPAIR KIT, ONLY. Once used get tyre repaired properly or replaced, DO NOT CONTINUE TO RIDE ON IT. And does leave a messy gunk behind, that means not able to repair, according to most tyre fitters. This post has been edited by Bob on Jun 7 2007, 05:34 PM |

Just to add to this topic, these are piccies from my tyre after Scrape removed it for me and after I had used Tyre Weld. Note the amount of fluid that had pasted the inside of the tyre and rim and was free flowing when the tyre was pulled off. (Sorry for massive time lag here, took ages to find a way to get piccies from phone)
![]() ![]() This stuff dried on the inside of the rim and looks a right mess. Hard work to get it off. At high speeds it might be an issue having this much fluid moving around inside your tyre. Only use Tyre Weld to get you home/to the tyre shop (better still - Scrape!) -------------------- |
