Dear Fellow Jewish Attachment Parenting Moms,

There are a lot of exciting developments happening at The Jewish Attachment Parenting Forum (JATP), for mothers of little babies and hulking teens and anyone in between!

On May 14th (that's just a little under two weeks), we’ll be launching our first book group discussion, moderated by The Other Baby Book co-author Miriam Katz. Miriam describes her book, The Other Baby Book: A Natural Approach to Baby’s First Year as "an empowering guide for parents who seek to tune into their intuition and follow their babies’ cues while navigating that crucial first year together. Enlightening for first-time and repeat parents, mainstream and attached parents alike, this book offers insights and reflection opportunities for all."

We’ll be posting a chapter-specific question each week for your discussion and input, covering eight chapters in eight weeks. You are also welcome to post questions about the chapters to initiate conversation and friendly debate. The book discussion will launch on Monday, May 14th. That gives you two weeks to get the book and read the first chapter, Birth: Bring Forth New Life.

Of course, everyone knows that attachment parenting isn't just about babies. Parents with older children have already come to JATP to discuss the work of developmental psychologist and author Dr. Gordon Neufeld. Dr. Neufeld has synthesized attachment theory in ways that no one had done before. If you haven't studied psychology, his genius is obvious enough. But if you have, you can see how incredible his work is.

We are privileged to host Dr. Leigh Bar-Yakov, psychologist and a trained facilitator in Dr. Gordon Neufeld's approach. She will begin a series of articles beginning on May 23th about Judaism and Dr. Neufeld's methodology. She will also be answering questions people may have about her articles.
