we started toilet training ds2 (3) in august, following several months of his peeing in the toilet almost whenever we suggested it and at least one unsolicited trip to the bathroom. we were sure he was ready. we made tremendous progress over the next few weeks. on the first day he would have accidents if we didn't take him every 15-20 minutes. by the end of august, we were taking him every hour or 2 and not regularly. he wasn't initiating and was clueless about poop, but we figured all would be well soon.

then gan started. on about the second day, he peed through all his changes in a few hours. i was asked to switch him to pull-ups till he managed the transition. so after sukkot, we went back to underwear. they take the kids in groups between activities (probably every hour plus or so). ds would have some dry days and some accidents (usually one change of clothes gone. occasionally a second after his nap. he takes a long time to wake up.). he was still not initiating at all.

yesterday, he came home in someone else's clothes. he had peed through 3 of his own outfits. then during dinner, he stopped abruptly and announced that he had to pee. he was right and the underwear was still dry. this morning, he told us again that he had to pee and his pull-up from the night was dry. maybe he's finally getting it.... applause.gif
